Ed is there any interest in Douglas Costa?
Because I realy hope not. There's a lot of talk of him now. Cuadrado or Reus albeit unlikely are the final part of our puzzle. Cuadrado's my choice because he's a typical mourinho player like Willian but great going forward.
Just Cuadrado them for me is Schurrle and Salah left.

Now I can't for the life of me understand why we'd bring Douglas Costa in instead of waiting till the summer (and perhaps Traore getting a work permit) and bringing back either one of Thorgan Hazard or Traore. They definitely don't play in lesser leagues than Costa and have been performing well. On top of that, they won't cost us anything.
I could understand going for Cuadrado, but Costa seems a bit weird right now.
It has to be said though that the club don't stand in the way of players wanting to move on. Maybe Schurrle has grown tired of being in and out of the first team and getting little game time.
Having said that, IMO we could do better than Costa. Either we get a clear upgrade or we get someone back from loan. Obviously Emenalo etc. are a hell of a lot more knowledgeable about these things than I am, but I'm NOT a fan of moving for Costa.
Transfer windows are frustrating as hell.

Douglas Costas not even better than Salah that would be a terrible move and he's cup tied I'd prefer to promote Boga than sign him. Cuadrado or nothing please.
Douglas Costa is better than Salah. But he is also cup tied.
We are obviously trying to make room for big summer signing.
If we sign Douglas Costa we will have two Willians.

Salahs barely played any minutes and I feel Boga is more than capable of filling his role until the summer when we can bring Traore back.

Agree tk If Schurrle and Salah both left I'd pay the money for Cuadrado and use Boga. Don't understand why players like Boga aren't in the squad for tomorrow. We're only playing Bradford.
Although I do agree it would be a bit weird to sign Douglas Costa, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I have never seen him play. Besides who here actually thought Azpilicueta would be an important player when we bought him?
Douglas Costa is very much look a like Willian only he is left footed. Just to remind you Douglas Costa used to be considered the most talented Brazilian player only 4-5 years ago.
Actually KTBFFH I was very happy when we signed Azpi. Obviously didn't expect him to end up being our first choice LB but still. For me I don't really know too much about either player, I trust both the club and JM, but not sure we need both.
Also MN, how does signing 2 players for between £40-50m allow us to make a big signing in the summer?
I doubt that we will sign both of them. If Salah leaves we will sign Douglas Costa. If Schurrle leaves we will sign Cuardado.

If we played all out attack football hi pressure and fast paced you would want schurrle in that team! Like vs arsenal.but all the defending we do doesn't suit him or salah it's a shame. But Jose does like his attackers to have defensive responsibilities. Willian frustrates me. I really don't like him. I'd prefer salah and schurrle given some play time and a little bit of freedom.
Selling schurrle and getting Doug costa is one of the worst moves. It's like selling Remy and bringing in Pato.
That's a terrible comparison. Ignore it :P

So we're guna spend 20-30 million on Costa to replace our 5th choice attacker are we? I'd rather Boga or Brown than Douglas Costa. He's over-rated like many brazilians because of his flashy footwork but no end product.
