Can't win them all but again two holding midfield players v burnley at home, I'm sorry but we need another dimension to our team. We have midfield and forward players pressing the opposition most of the games but the defence always sits deep, leaving space behind midfield for players to run at defence. If you watch the games again on TV you will see what I mean. We play two holding players but yet other teams still produce a lot of attempts on our goal. Give burnley credit though they deserved their point but we had too many players just not up for today's game.

Did we play two holding midfield players today?

Wouldn't call Fabregas a holding player, mate.

I think cesc tends to play deeper as most teams overload right around the box and him going in there would just add to the congestion. We had some awful refereeing and couldn't capitalize enough on the chances that did come our way.

It has nothing to do with the personnel of the team, it is the tempo at which we play. How many times do we get the edge of the opposition box and then pass it around at walking pace for 30 seconds? Burnley played well and put 100% effort in like they always do and they deserve some credit for forcing an equaliser but the referee handed them the point and I was surprised he didn't give their penalty appeal to seal an unbelievably horrific refereeing display. Matic deserved his red card for his reaction but how the referee didn't even give a free kick for that challenge let alone a straight red card is beyond me. If I performed like that at work I would be sacked, so why isn't he? :D

If you ignore all the poor refereeing decisions, I suppose Burnley maybe deserved a point but even then I wouldn't really say so. We created half a dozen opportunities in the second half where we were only an inch or two away from scoring.
Fabregas isn't really a holding midfielder, in fact the only time I see him deep is when he comes to collect the ball or when we're defending around our box.

Sorry but I disagree with Burnley deserving a point, if the ref had not bottled the first three decisions the game would have been over in the 1st half, it could have been three nil and their spirit broken . I don't care if the ref apologises for his bad decisions, it doesn't matter, 2 points dropped City catching up and one of our best players banned for 3 games all because a ref continually totally bottled game changing decisions.
apologies for the rant but it is getting beyond a joke when we are constantly not being awarded penalties. All conspirty jokes aside, but the players must be getting affected by this

Is this like 10th penalty in a row which we didn't get?

As someone in the mail wrote, if this had happened in Asia then there would be mention of corruption/match fixing as opposed to in this case, an incompetent display by the red.
