(Please eds post this to banter as team page is just purely dead, also its not about the team selection and more an open debate) Hello guys its me with my weekly question, thanks for so many responses last week I hope you enjoy reading replies as much as I do.
So going back to the question: if you could take any ex chelsea player from any time and slot it in our curent team, which player do you think it would be and why? (Keeping in mind that this player would have to improve our current team)
For me it would be a really hard call as I see at least 4 position which we could strenghten (AM, RW, CB and CM). So the obvious candidates are Lampard at his prime as an AM, Robben at RW, Makele or Ballack at CM and of course Carvahlo to partner JT.
ANYWAY looking at our current squad I believe that Ballack would be a superb addition next to Matic. He was good at going forward, creating and passing. Matic would be a perfect cover for our CB's (with zouma starting over Cahill any day) and fabregas pushed to number 10 role.

{Ed018's Note - yea that's a tough one. Ballack at CM, Robben at RW and Zola playing the 10 role would all greatly improve the team. Lampard in a middle 3 with Fabregas and Matic would also be nice. To many choices}

I'd go with lampard in his prime as he brings the industry jose demands but also brings goals which I feel we lack in the midfield. He also is a threat to shoot from outside of the box and we don't have anyone who falls into that category. Great question though.

Very tough Question.
Robben,Lampard,Zola,Joe Cole, Essien,Makele or Desailly. Argghhh I can't choose.

Yes lads is a tough question but that's why I added that sentence of 'improving our current squad' :) anyway its really hard to answer as all answers are right. We as chelsea supporters had and have a great team and superb players

That's a damn tough question, man. Carvalho is a real contender for me, fantastic defender in his prime, absolutely outstanding! I'd give it to him, or go for a central midfielder to partner Matic. Ballack or Essien. Both were o so good. Especially Essien in his prime. He simply destroyed teams on his own and he was probably my favourite player back then.
So yeah, I'd take Essien in his prime. Him and Matic would have fun destroying just about any team out there :)

I myself have had less time to post because I've been a bit busy. But I try to read up at least 2 times a day and I'll try to start posting a bit more.
So yeah, definitely keep posting. Questions like the one above are fun to answer :)

Its really tough to choose. I'd probably have to go with a more defensive minded player along the lines of either Makelele, Essien or Carvalho. It'd make us defensively solid whilst relieving our attacking players of their defensive duties. Which should allow them to express themselves fully.
