How would people feel with a 4-3-3 with Pogba, Matic and Loftus Cheek? Is that too much power? With Fabregas's form dropped a little.

I don't think RLC is ready to be a starter, I think we're overrating him a bit.

Next season he'll be a squad player.

03 Apr 2015 08:14:38
Agree Aron
He is not there yet. He needs to have more time playing but he is not ready to be a first 11 player. let's not over hype him only to slag him off when he makes mistakes (which he will he is still learning his trade)

03 Apr 2015 12:22:37
Come on with the RLC this RLC that, he is going to be a good player but how about we let him develop first before putting so much on him he is just 19.

03 Apr 2015 18:11:43
Maybe that's half the people's problems on here then. Everyones desperate to just throw money at players like Pogba and Icardi instead of giving our quality youngsters a chance in RLC and Solanke/Bamford.

When Terry retires it's highly likely we will have no English players in our starting lineup. I love our club, but that's quite frankly disgusting.

03 Apr 2015 18:40:06
How is that "disgusting"? Plus, no one said anything about not giving our young players a chance it's just simply some of you guys getting ahead of yourselves, if we want to see young players and more especially English players realistically play next season how about Bamford, he would be great as an u destroy to Costa. He would be glad with the role and could easily become a really good solid player. That there is realistic, plausible and something I personally would love to see happen, he has proved he can score goals in the championship for the second season I a role, he is different kind of player to Costa and he is home grown, outside your English player obsession if we really want what's good for our youngsters how about Traore he as well could come in, showing how good and matured he is at a very young age.

So please don't act like anyone on here is gunning for Pogba or big name stars, all we are saying well I better speak for myself, all I'm saying is let RLC mature or at the very least get some minutes here and there before we throw him in to take the place of a world class player cause that is not just very silly but also never going to happen and it has nothing to do with anyone not wanting English players or youth players. Thank you. I'll get my coat.

There aren't that many English players that should be in our starting lineup though. Think about it.
Cahill starts for England, yet most of us are calling for Zouma to get in the team ahead of Cahill for a lot of games. The full backs aren't better than ours either.
Would you put Kane, Rooney or Sturridge in our starting 11 instead of Costa? Because I don't think that I would. Maybe an English player could play right wing for us though, I'm thinking about possibly Oxlade-Chamberlain or Sterling. So that's exactly 1 position where we could perhaps upgrade with an English player.
It's not disgusting for Chelsea IMO. They shouldn't play because they're English, they should play because they're better than our current options.

I 100% agree with Jackson and ELI. It's much too soon for RLC to suddenly become a starter. He hasn't even played like 90 minutes for us and you want him to start games in place of Fabregas?
yes it's a bit pitiful that when Terry retires we might not have any English players in our starting 11, but that just goes to show the quality of English players around atm. I don't think I'd pick any of the England squad ahead of our current starting 11. Sterling maybe might get in ahead of Willian but otherwise not.
And for a 20 year old, who was until recently, uncapped international to be pushing an England starting CB out of our starting 11, just shows that it's not Chelsea's problem.
I'd rather have every single player be foreign and us win trophies than have a starting 11 full of English players and be finishing in 6/7th.

{Ed018's Note - exactly, I want to see RLC succeed at Chelsea but he's not gonna be a regular starter next season and the simple reason is, he's not anywhere close to being ready for that. If he stays with the team and doesn't go out on loan I'd expect him to certainly get some minutes but a regular starter, no way}

03 Apr 2015 20:35:37
I'd like to see him come on for the last 30 mins of games and start in the FA/Capital One Cup games. Then probably go on loan in January for the second half of the season.

03 Apr 2015 21:04:31
I didn't mean I wanted him to take his place I meant just imagine how powerful them 3 in a midfield they could become.

{Ed018's Note - looking at it in the short and long term I think it's very important to bring in a Pogba, Koke or Gomes to put in there with Matic and Fabregas. Allow RLC to be included in the rotation and 3-4 years down the road he could very well be ready to be a starter, but I think one of those 3 is very important to the growth of the team. Oscar as much as I like him is not producing enough and at this point him and Willian are pretty much the same players. I'm fine with one of them out there but Chelsea need a different dimension to their game and that's what you'd get bringing a Pogba in. But back to your point, in 3 years time that could be a very powerful midfield and I hope to see it or something very similar}

03 Apr 2015 22:39:45
Cheers ed, I'm really starting to like the look of André Gomes he does seem in the Ballack mould which I think we're missing. I'm going to watch him Sunday against Villareal. Koke and Pogba would be at a very high price range.

Getting back to RLC if we do wrap the title up early fingers crossed we could see him play the last two games against west Brom and Sunderland. If he performs really well we might not need a new midfielder after all. 😉

{Ed018's Note - I've learned not to worry about the money. The club is gonna do the right thing financially. I'm sure there will be players sold this summer that will help fund any moves. And yea it'd be nice to have the title wrapped up early so RLC, Ake and possible Solanke get some time in the final few matches}

04 Apr 2015 00:42:12
Exactly ELI, we've seen him for 10 minutes against solid opposition, he is so not ready yet.

04 Apr 2015 05:58:22
People talking about RLC to be promoted to first team next season but have we forgotten that Van Ginkel is also due to join us in the pre-season

Aren't we going to integrate him in the first team next season?

04 Apr 2015 08:33:17
Injuries have got him Unfortunetely, I feel the club will asses him then a loan will follow.

04 Apr 2015 10:08:06
England has to be the toughest league in the world for youngsters to break into the first team especially when fighting for titles etc clubs like bayern have rotated & used the youngsters probably because they wrapped the title up before the season started & have no real competition in the bundesliga.

van ginkel starts for Milan today
hope he makes it count
