Just watching the game against Sydney, Mikel is a fantastic player when given a bit of freedom. Great range of passing, gets slated on here sometimes which is unfair. I hope he stays next season. Costa looked superb before going off injured, Ake very accomplished at left back and Remy took his goal well. Hazard unplayable at times and Dave so much more adventurous on the right. Only disappointment has been Boga, looks lost out there. Half time

Mikel is such a solid performer, it'd be a shame to see him go. He also performs a role which not many players are capable of performing. He gets a lot of stick, but I think he's a very good player. And indeed he's capable of contributing to the attack when given a bit of freedom.

The best thing about Mikel is that he seems happy to be a squad player and not a starter - this is priceless

I certainly wasn't knocking Boga, far from it. It's just that these young players are also competing with each other for future opportunities and he wasn't able to impress in the way others have like Charlie Colkett the other day. Hope he gets another chance pre-season

I went to the game in Sydney as we don't get top quality sides too often, was respectful and wasn't one throwing planes.
Mikel was quite impressive and solid, enjoyed watching him work. Costa was good, found it ridiculous that he got man of the match though, only played 40 mins haha. Hazard was a pleasure to watch in the flesh.

Too often Mikel plays one solid game and 3 terrible. Sorry but time to let go. So lazy at tracking back it makes me sick.

Mikel is playing completely different position at his NT and it looks really good. He is natural CM. At Chelsea he was used in more defensive role which doesn't suit the player that much.
Even Matic isn't a natural DM he is CM as well anyone who watched him play at Benfica is aware of that.
