Good afternoon gentlemen.
Just a quick question. There is no doubting the potential of our lad Sterling but would you be happy to pay what is being reportedly asked for him?
And do you see him as a regular starter in your team if purchased. And if so what happens to the like of Cuadrado?

Agree2 Disagree0

This may sound mean Jack but I wouldn't go over 30 million for him. To start off he has shown himself to be inept with letting Aidy Ward do the things he has which has really hurt his image. He's got a lot of potential but there's no way he would get in ahead of Willian right now and we would have to consider moving on cuadrado for a loss of he was brought in. If we're going to go for a winger then it needs to be someone who is presently a definite step up from Willian and cuadrado.

I think it will be day light robbery for any club to pay over 25m for him with all his baggages. I wouldn't want the club to pay over 25m for him, not with Traore who I believe is as talented if not better than Sterling. But then again, it's just my honest opinion.

Does not sound mean at all tk and I agree with both you and Dastanj on this matter. I cannot understand how any club would be willing to pay what has been rumoured for sterling and I have no doubts his snake of an agent will want considerable fees for himself also. I agree he would not be a step up on your current winger and I agree that anything over 25m seems like a steal for us. As a liverpool fan I hope we can get as much as possible I can just see it not working out well for Sterling or the buying club. As for his agent I would be surprised if he hasn't done himself out of any future business as I can't imagine any club wanting to deal with him after what we have seen with both Berahino and Sterling. Another question, do you think Falcao could work out for your club?

26 Jun 2015 14:03:59
He is a fantastic player and could be a future world star. If he settles down and tells his agent to be a little more diplomatic the public will soon be back on his side. When you consider what clubs are now paying for players we haven't even heard of then £40M is a good price. With anticipated transfer fee inflation he could be worth £100M + in 3 years.

I don't see him ever being worth that JKB realistically. If he signs for you lot for anything close to what is being touted is he going to be happy to sit on the bench? And will he develop correctly not playing in every game he can? I see your logic as regards transfer fee inflation but if he was to move to Chelsea or City that will be his last big move realistically? Both clubs have no need to sell and the only clubs with the buying power to pay 100m plus. Can you see them ever paying a world record transfer fee for him? I cant. Very few English players have ever been a roaring success over there.

The player is absolute quality and will only get better, why waste money on 'nearly players' when another £10/15M gets you a marque signing? Cuardrado may prove to be fantastic but we paid £26M for him and another £14M gets Sterling. Home grown as well.

I don't see how he can be valued at that price having one decent season. like others have said he wouldn't get in before Willian so a 50 million quid bench warmer? I think not, he has fantastic potential, granted. rather see cuadrado get more game time & settle properly! Looked very nervous on the ball last season

26 Jun 2015 16:15:51
Would he be an automatic starter for you JKB? And if so who would it be in place of?

26 Jun 2015 17:30:37
In place of Oscar. 3 behind Costa being Hazard, Willian and Sterling. Matic and Cesc in the centre. Oscar, Cuardrado and Traore to challenge. Falcao and Remy to challenge Costa. Loftus-Cheek and Ramiries to challenge Matic and Cesc with one more coming in ( loanee or new ).

You wouldn't actually drop Oscar for Sterling, would you? Oscar is such a special player, very unique IMO. We look so much worse when he's not out on the pitch. One of our most important players IMO.

Apart from being quick there is not much more to Sterling and top defenders know how to take him out of the game so £30m+ is ludicrous and I would certainly not leave Willian out as his work rate is phenomenal. However, with Willian we paid £20m+ for a goal scoring midfield/winger and his strike rate has been poor especially as he has a good shot in both feet and that is an area he has to improve on and to my mind would be helped by someone better than Ramires/Mikel supporting him. Is it just me that feels Oscar has peaked for us? A lovely player on his day but very frail and is not having too many 'days' for sometime.

Of course I would Jackson, that's why I said it. Willian as our 10. Oscar has fantastic ability but now needs consistency.
