Man U looked frightening good against Barca - I know it's only pre-season and Barca were missing key players but United's ball retention was amazing - think United will be our main contenders this year.
Also, Pedro? Not very impressive at all - quick but that's about it.
Impressed with Moses performance - why do we need to buy any other winger? And he's young and English.
Ps What a penalty by Courtois!

I've always said United would be the main challengers, and even favourites, to win the title next season. They have good players in attack and a very very strong midfield. And I'm a firm believer of the 'whoever wins the midfield battle wins the game' saying. If they get a good cb like Otamendi, which will probably happen, they will be the favourites in my eyes.

Man Utd had an impressive pre-season last year too. feel apart over the course of the season. I don't place any value on the results as there are so many variables to take into consideration.

Although just two moderate friendlies under our belt, anyone else impressed with the effort of Moses? I always thought he underperformed as a player but in the two recent matches he as impressed with his all round game. I was also keen to see Remy sold primarily because of his niggling injuries blunting his pace which we need in matches but he looks nice and sharp already and if they can keep him injury free he could be the back up we will probably need. I am sorry but Cuadrado is way out of his depth.

Moses has played well, definitely! And I always wanted to keep Remy, unless he was used to get Lacazette (however, that was unlikely from the start). I want to see him as striker though, not as a winger.
I was also pleased with Falcao's performance. He didn't set the world on fire, but his movement was good. And it took confidence to take that first pen, so hats off to him.

Jackson, unfortunately I think the CB Utd would be interested in is John Stones - when it was first reported that we had bid I did think Utd would make a move for him. We'll see but they can outbid us - depends how along the road our negotiations with Everton are and if Stones has made up his mind to come to us as reported.

United can have Stones for all I care, I don't particularly rate him. Whole bunch of centre backs I'd prefer to him. Stones to United, and then we swoop in to get Otamendi for around the same money? That'd be a great deal for us.

Sorry Jackson but Stones would be long term signing.

To each his own, antibot, but I just don't feel that Stones will become world class in a couple of years. I think we can find better options.

Do you actually watch football? Not sure what you base your opinions on

27 Jul 2015 08:56:18
Sure, I watch football. It just don't get the feeling with Stones that he'll become very good. I think people put too much emphasis and bringing the ball out from the back and defenders starting attacks from deep (like Hummels does), and Stones does that as well. He's good on the ball. But I want my defenders to be warriors, guys who will fight all game long and are not afraid to do dirty work to win. That's why I like Otamendi so much. It's all about preferences.
