Eds could of you please explain why chelsea would wait to bid for stones and not do it straight after rejection of the previous bid

I'm guessing becuase if you just keep bidding without a break, it makes it seem like he's the only player you want, therefore raising the asking price.
By waiting, it makes it seem like you're not as interested, but still interested. Making the price not rise

It all seems so childish - why don't Everton say either he's not for sale at any price this summer or we want £32 mill and no less to let him go? Then Chels either pay £32 mill or ssay No thanks - Ridiculous!

It may seem ridiculous to you however there's a lot more to a transfer than just agreeing a transfer fee.
