Unless we sign Pedro which is unlikely I really can't see us signing a goalscoring right winger. I might get some stick for this but why don't we just leave the pressing game out abit? Matic and Fabregas don't work together in big games so what do we do? Do we move Fabregas further forward? We need a physical presence who has technical abilities I.e Witsel, RLC next to Matic. But then do we play Cesc as a no.10? This is a hard decision because he is still one of our best players but he's not at his best at the moment. People don't like him as a no.10 because he doesn't play as well as Oscar. What I would like to see is us going back to our three amigos behind Diego. We don't have Mata anymore we have Cesc, but I think if you play Oscar and Eden either side with Cesc closer to more creative players and a goalscorer I think we would be better off like that until we can sign a world class right winger. With that much change going on in our side I think the title might be out of reach this season. I still think the balance of our full backs is our main problem though. Hopefully with Baba coming in we can switch Azpi back to the right. The criticism of Terry is laughable he has never had pace but I've said last season and I'll say it again he does need pace all round him and that's why Zouma needs to play CB.

Magical, I think the problem with playing JT is that we have to sit so deep to accommodate him - which is the reason he was taken off yesterday.

We don't need player next to Matic. We need change of tactics and formation. Fabregas should play more prominent role. So 41221(433),4141,4312 any of those formations would work much better than 4231. Ramires cannot play next to Matic( he's typical cm) , Fabregas is to offensive by default, RLC is not ready yet, which leaves us with Mikel and it didn't work for now. Or we can play with Fabregas but then both our CMs should play 10 yards closer to ou front 3. That could make us more exposed as could see during our Spurs game.
Since Mourinho likes more careful tactics 4141 would be probably the most desirable solution for himand Chelsea would be much attackminded than now. IMO with given players 4312 would be the best.
If we continue playing defensive football we will get nowhere.

How did Mrs Costa's post not give you a reason in the disagreement? They quite clearly stated that JT playing means the defence have to sit back rather than pushing a high line, hence why he was substituted. There's nothing but reasoning in that post?

I have been saying for months that the team shape is all over the place. We are trying to play formations where as players are having to play out of position which in turn gives us no balance. Dave is a energetic right back, ivanovic is a centre half. Fabregas cannot play a holding role or as a CAM, he is more of a central player,the same with Ramires. Why Jose plays him right mid I do not know. Willian played most of his shaktar games left sided midfield but is being told to play Central or right side. These are just examples that players cannot produce top quality performances when playing positions they are not best at. Right side of midfield has been a problem since Jose first took over. also there is a major problem when you have players like mikel who sit on the bench every week and are happy to do so. I thought the whole reason for Chelsea to be having a so called quiet transfer window was because the likes of loftus cheek etc would be given game time. If we need to sell to buy then I put three names forward in mikel,Ramires and cuadrado. It's simple if you ask me, if a player in a certain position is not good enough then he should not be at the club. Let's stop playing people out of position and get back to basics. I would rather see Moses playing right side before rami and cuadrado. In pre season Moses looked like he had a hunger and desire to play for Chelsea producing some good performances. It's that type of attitude which we need to see more of throughout the team.

NWBLUE: A sound reasoned argument although there will be a few who disagree but Mourinho said ten days ago that players have been told they will be playing out of position. Certainly pre-season and two games and we look all over the place and a quiet transfer window was JM possibly repeating what he has been told as it cannot be lost on him that to transfer last years team into the new season was not going to cut it. Looking for cash, something we are not really short of, I would add Ramires and Remy to the outgoings.
