Controversial post:

To all the Everton fans regarding Chelsea interest in John stones.
You bought John stones 3 seasons ago from a lower division team for 3m was he just after the money then?
He has been with Everton a few years but would be a traitor to leave them (surely he was more if a traitor when he joined you from his boyhood club)
People with ambition will always try to reach for the top which in Football is joining a top club and winning trophies. I do not understand how a Football fan cannot understand that.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is one way of looking at it I suppose Spearce. But that is from the fans perspective of the team that wants to buy him. Our stance is from a totally different view point. When we put a bid in for him he was already on the way to sign for Wigan, we matched their bid so we could enter talks. But I totally understand your argument.
From an EFC perspective, the lad signed a 5 year deal and, up until a day before your first offer, he was interviewed saying how happy he was with us. No doubt his head has been turned by your manager and a few players talking about him in the press, which most of us blues found disrespectful and is the reason why we wanted our board not to enter talks with you. The reality of the situation is that we are already 2 CB's down from the summer and we have little time to adequately replace JS before the window closes. If we sold him then we would have to rely on youth and that is far from ideal, especially since RM is under the microscope after a bad season last year. Selling one of our top young players would compound that and leave us fighting at the wrong end of the table imo. If he has a good season then he will have a few clubs sniffing round him in the summer, you will just have to fight it out with them come the end of the season!

As An Everton fan, I think Chelsea's approach to buying Stones has been all wrong. Mourinho is too arrogant and assumes that he can throw his cash at anyone and they will give in. I think a more professional approach would have been more productive. In normal circumstances, a £30m bid for Stones would have been accepted, but not from a club with Chelsea's attitude - loads of cash but not much class. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he ended up at Man U - far more professional in the way they do things. You may think Chelsea are big time now, but look at your history books - you have a lot of catching up to do in terms of winning trophies and of gaining respect from the football community. I like the way you play on the field but off it, not so good.

Spudv: but you were happy for Martinez to spend last summer talking up Lukaku to EFC whenever possible and happy to let your players wax lyrical about that prospect? But when it happens to one of your players suddenly it becomes unfair?

28 Aug 2015 00:47:56
CFC, last year you were getting rid of Rom so there is no comparison to be made. Didn't hear RM talk about it in the way you seem to remember though, maybe when we were given the green light that he was available. I never said it was unfair, I said it was disrespectful.

How about all you Everton fans mind your own business as you bought Lukaku from us and he has done wonders for you and now it's a double standard cause we want stones and you not letting him go is going to bite you in the butt as you will see his lack of play the next few months till the next transfer window where we or Man U get him and this is a fact! This happens in every sport and it's about time fans realize that the bigger teams always win so just let the player be happy and unfortunately this is the way it is

To be fair Rom was going end of the day his attitude and his ability doesn't quite make it at Chelsea so I will give you that comment we were selling him.
But PIPS coming on with all this look at your history yes ok it's important in away were clubs come from and what you've won but get with the times football is about NOW it's a trophy winning business now, being up there with the best players want to be playing against the best teams in the world barca real juventus Munich challenging for all trophies not just hoping for a gud run in fa cup and only getting to play these sides in pre season friendlys but I tell you what Everton will be able to bring world class stars in to Everton because they have the attraction of sitting in a board room talking about there history. While Chelsea compete on all top levels and try to make history. Keep stones for me and will buy him for less next year if he's not happy he will not be at his best why would u keep someone that doesn't want to be there

Spudv and Pips congrats to your club on that win, well played and time will tell how that works out for Everton. That said, you both have some nerve coming to our site to sell your BS propaganda about about what offended you lot. What is disrespectful about answering a question.
Reporter - John Terry we understand a bid has has been tabled by your club for a young English player who just happens to play your same position, John Stones, may I just ask you what you think of him as a player and his potential? What is he supposed to answer? Gary Cahill you actually trained with him on the national team, same question.
I'm assuming it went something like that because that's what media does.
Players and managers compliment others teams players every week in interviews before and after matches and yet it's only viewed as tapping up when an offer is on the table.
The only disrespectful aspect of this whole ordeal imo, is the way Everton wasted about a month and 1/2 of our time misleading us into thinking they would sell for the right offer as they kept moving up their valuation when they could have stopped us in our tracks from day one and we would have moved on and signed someone else. That is why I'm congratulating you lot on playing us, now that our business has concluded you can piss off our site and crawl back to your mid table hole.

bluelab, I was answering a post from one of your fellow supporters which is what tends to happen on these types of sites. You came in and gave your opinion, I replied to your comment. Not that I need to justify being on this page but the subject concerns both clubs. Don't see why you are so hostile?
I'm sure that I speak for all Evertonians when I humbly apologise for wasting your time! How rude of us to not let you get what you want because you flashed your cash! Come on man, it's a banter site don't get so angry

28 Aug 2015 09:32:13
Top post Bluelab, let's face it whatever Cahill had said would rile them up, if he has said he didn't rate Cahill Martinez would probably be ranting about how that was even more disrespectful!

28 Aug 2015 11:43:35
Sorry should be rate Stones!
