So without specs on. Quick banter lads?

Kenedy 7 mil
Martial 36 mil

To me Kenedy looks a steal, could honestly see this lad being the real deal and don't know how we got him on the cheap certainly as good as martial. Guys, Ed018. Your thoughts?

{Ed018's Note - Kenedy looks like he's got some good potential for sure. At least it's good to know that with Cuadrado and Moses out of the picture he will definitely get some minutes this year. Martial is a player with good potential as well but certainly not worth the money United forked out for him}

The deal for Martial will never be considered a 'steal', even if he lives up to his potential. It's just such a big commitment to a teenager who, while talented, only scored something like 11 goals in all competitions last season. Luckily for them, United can pretty much pay whatever they like as their revenues are insane.
Both players look very good though, and I think Martial is going to be the better player out of those 2 in the end. However, Kenedy could be really useful and didn't cost nearly as much.
I think both teams did well :-) and I look forward to seeing more of Kenedy in blue. He looked a real energetic player against Palace and I love that attitude.

Although I think Rahman and RLC should play vs Everton I think the likes of maybe Aina, Rahman, RLC, Kenedy and Traore will get to start vs Walsall.

I really hope so Magical Eden.

I don't think we can criticise Utd that much for paying over the odds for martial when we recently spent 30m on Willian and 23 on cuadrado. I would rather spend big money on a young player with big potential than older players that have pretty much reached their peak who are never going to be world class.

Jackson, why do you think Martial will be better than Kenedy in the long term? Both players are young and will develop but £38m rising to £50+ is a massive gamble on Martial.

I am siding with Mrs Costa here Jackson. True we do not know who will progress in the future and Martial has already got a massive mill stone around his neck with high expectations whereas Kenedy will be allowed to develop at his own pace. Martial was a prolific youngster but has dropped away in senior football with a scoring rate just shy of one goal every five games which is not £36m+ performance, played in a moderately competitive league in front of small crowds. Kenedy similarly has played fewer games albeit another prolific youngster and quietly comes to Chelsea for £6.3m and little pressure. I obviously hope all good footballers succeed but my money is on Kenedy.

Fair enough, Mrs Costa and Frensham. Who will turn out to be better, it's in no way possible to predict. So we can only say what we think will happen :-)
I just think Martial will be better because I think his close control is better than Kenedy's, and Kenedy seems to be very one-footed (is that a word?). And perhaps most importantly, I think Martial will get a lot of time on the pitch to develop, whereas Kenedy will have to wait his turn a lot.

A certain Mr Messi is totally one-footed as was Maradona!
