Hey ed2, just wanted your opinion on whether Michael emenalo has done a good a good job at Chelsea or not? See a lot of posts attacking him and personally feel they are unjustified. What are your thoughts in how he's worked at the club, if time allows

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Emenalo has done nothing wrong.}

Agree0 Disagree1

I think people are looking for excuse but I did comment yesterday and previously that Emenalo had done well but the manager has been unable to convert the players bought. In the last 5yrs our signing have been with purpose for young and talented players. Most who have left have gone on to be big at other clubs and we have not made any loss before Jose came and started signing 26yrs+ player some of whom he has not even played. Danger of signing 26yrs+ is if it doesn't workout then you have a loss and less possibility of development. We have the best crop of young players in England. So surely its not Emenalo problem if the manager fails to harness the potential in these players.

I don't think the responsibility of signing players over the age of 26 lies solely or even predominantly with Jose. Transfers are decided on by a group of staff rather than just one man.

I might be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that Papy Djilobodji was a signing that JM pushed for. Just saying.

or Hector, Rahman and Pedro!

I cannot believe you all in this post stand by Emenalo. The guy has to take some responsibility over this. Aren't Directors liable in Business? I am not sure he is even qualified for that job, anyway.

I don't think any of the replies to this post are standing behind Emenalo particularly?

Personally I don't think Emenalo has done a bad job. The work him and the scouting department have done which has brought in some of the best youth players such as KDB, Lukaku, Zouma, Courtois, Kenedy, Pasalic etc. Even other players like Azpi, Hazard, Oscar, Matic, Willian have been brought in since he became technical director.
This past summer window was poor but I don't think that's down to him but the board who believed we didn't need significant reinforcements. Some signings haven't worked out since JM came back but that's probably more down to them either not being JM's first choice or the fact they couldn't settle in England. Either way I don't think Emenalo is to blame for our current woes.
