I have a question for all the Ed's and I know it's a bit naughty because some people might take what You say as gospel but I got to ask regardless.

Who do each of You think will be the next Chelsea FC Manager?

And a question for Ed002, based on what You know about the Clubs Future Plans who do You think would be the best candidate for the job (regardless of how unlikely it may be) .

Thank You in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Not a subject I wish to comment on at this time BN but I suspect other folks will have an opinion.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think with the way the club is run regarding transfers will limit the managers that would join us. I think we will end up with Brendan Rodgers, which if you look at the bigger picture would not be the worst option. Simeone cannot even speak the language, guardiola has everything in place at city according to top respected pundits and I think they where our top choices. Looking at Rodgers' time at Liverpool he introduced some young players and wasn't afraid to use different formations to make them a more attacking team.

I think it'll be Conte. I think Abramovich won't take the chance on a lesser known name, and Conte is out of contract after the European Championship. So the timing fits. Of course it's just a guess :-)
I'd be reasonably happy with that.

Brendan Rodgers let's hope not, don't think he has a clue to what he is doing, and ed02 are you not his biggest fan! . I would love simeone, but think we will end up with one of the Italian managers,

I mentioned Conte a few weeks ago and still think he might be our best option if we fail to get Guardiola and Simeone.

I totally understand Ed002, things might get crazy if You suggest someone that isn't flavour of the month lol.

I have a feeling and I'm not entirely sure why that Conte will end up in the Hotseat and personally I wouldn't be particularly against it.

Oh well We wait and see I suppose.

Simeone has signed a contract to 2020 and would cost a fortune to buy out, also doesn't speak English. Pep is off to City or maybe Arsenal and without champions league football won't join us. Can Conte speak English? Brendan Rogers knows the club well and would be a good fit given he's attacking football and ability to work with youngsters. Personally I would keep Guus and bring in Drogba to work with him next season until he's ready to take over.

Brendan Rodgers would be an appauling appointment! Awful tactician and can't teach anyone how to defend!

Ranieri to come back was mentioned yesterday,

Can always get mourihno back (I am just kidding lads) . My intake would be that we need either hungry young manager if we can't get any sucess with either simeone or guardiola.

Probably going to get castrated for saying this on here but failing Guadiola, I have 2 people I would not mind! Bare in mind none of these will happen just my personal opinion! . First one is Alan pardew. He's done a great job a palace. With top players could possibly do a good job. Also, and again this is just my opinion I think Eddie Howe at Bournemouth has done an incredible job and is young and hungry! Wether he would be able to conmand respect from top top players is another thing but I like him, and Bournemouth play decent football.

Conte has had English lessons in the recent past I believe. Not sure what level his English is at and whether he is still learning though.
Rodgers was forced into playing the majority of the youth players he brought through due to injuries to the first team. Plus if you look at his handling of youth players it's not great at all.
Depending on how the season turns out, I'd be happy to stick with Guus an extra year if that was what it took to get Simeone. Not sure we should necessarily be targeting a young manager as look at how that turned out with AVB.

In the world of make believe. I would want Lowe. great tactician works well with youngsters and knows how to win. Would be perfect for us.

Eddie Howe is a good shout but probably 3 years too early. He is Bournemouth through and through and I think its underestimated the impact that has on the team. He is highly respected by everyone at the club. Our club has shown before that young managers get tossed aside as soon as the players don't agree with them. So either we sell 5-6 older arrogant players, or I think we'd be setting up both Eddie and ourselves for a fall.

Pardew is a shocking option. As with Newcastle he goes through good and bad patches, and has never shown he has any idea how to get out of the bad spells. Hasn't scored in 5 PL games now, and they will seriously fall off this year. Add to that his headbutting of players and overall nasty side and I think we would be very smart to stay clear. Luckily I can't see his name even close to being considered.

Rodgers is another awful shout. He absolutely bottled it at LFC. They had the title won. Draw with us, stay on top and win their remaining 3 (? ) games. He played for the win, against an ultra defensive Chelsea team. Gerrard slipped, and the rest is history. Also the fact he would rather screw his secretary than get along to youth games etc, and his inability to spot a player and we would once again do well to stay clear. I can't imagine he is being looked at either. His last year and a bit at Liverpool was atrocious. You only need to also Ed001 his opinion to know the bloke does not learn from him ever increasing mistakes.

I think it will be Conte, personally. Proven record at the top level, bringing a club back to dominance after a poor spell. Has the ability to spot youth and play them. Is still young and I think would be eager to prove himself against the likes of Pep and Jurgen.

I can't really see any other option. Pep will go to city, Carlo will be at Bayern, Jurgen has already turned us down and is at LFC now, Jose is gone, Simoene is an Athletico legend and could just win the league again.

Theres a few in Germany who both Ed001 and 002 have praised as astute up and comers, so I guess it depends if we go for sustained success or try our hand at an up and comer again. Don't know if Roman will be keen for the AVB experiment to repeat itself though. Heres hoping whoever it is, they stay for a while.
