Avoiding who will be sold, who will ask to leave and who I would like to join, here is what I think we need from an older supporter.
Leader: Without Terry, who I think should remain we have nobody capable of leading the team whatsoever, especially with emphasis on the defence, and that is a big worry. Needs to be addressed urgently.
Defence: A left back without doubt. I don't want to see anyone playing out of position again. With doubts about a number of central players we need at least one young, strong central defender.
Central midfield 'General': I am not a fan of our recent line up and we need two players here that can organise, create and at least one contributing double figure goals at least. One of these needs to be a strong organiser who can manage his midfield and whoever is in front of him; someone in the Lampard mould.
Striker (s) / Forwards: At least two goal scoring individuals, one at least good in the air.
All teams should be formation adaptable but we have to become far more mobile and inject pace especially on the counter and we have got to be more direct. This slow build up allowing the opposition to pack their defence is getting us nowhere and when faced with it we are not shooting from range and without a meaningful player in the air our crosses are non-existent or wasteful.

Vidal would be great and Kante.

Marquinhos, Vidal, Barkley.

Bonucci, Vidal and Griezmann, and keep Terry.

ONiM: I would happy accept all three and personally I think keeping Terry is a must not least for his experience around the Club but with the youngsters working with the first team and the captaincy issue. I still think with a balanced defence he still has a role to play and he could still be club captain working with the on field captain as currently I do not not see a contender. Bonucci and Vidal would give us some 'bite' and historically the crowd get behind players like that and if that is the case then the player usually thrives. Pre-season I felt we were either going to sign Griezmann or were putting markers down for this year so fingers crossed.

I think Terry should stay, but not sure you'll see another leader develop until he leaves. He is such a force in that dressing room that unless you're an equally big character, such as Drogba or Ballack, then you'll struggle to ascert your leadership alongside his. It'll be interesting to see if anyone picks up his leadership mantle from within. I do think that Conte is the sort of manager who creates leaders too.
