Courtois as Madrid's plan B if they don't sign De Gea? I could see it happening. I'm sure Mourinho will convince De Gea to stay and with his somewhat defensive football it will make De Gea look even better.
I cannot deny I'll be disgusted if Courtois leaves after letting Cech go, it would have to be Handanovic or Leno as his replacement for me.

I don't see the problem in courtois leaving as long as it's £40m minimum. I don't think he's as good as say cech was. His distribution is awful and for someone of his size, his collecting from crosses is also not great. Don't get me wrong I would prefer him to stay but believe he's a little over hyped and think the position of goalkeeper is not hard to replace. Let's say he left for £40m, I wouldn't feel at all nervous about begovic being no1, and using that money for another position in the squad.

I think he's a good goalkeeper with a huge future, one of the best out there. What I mean by letting him possibly go would be begovic is also a good goalkeeper with a lot of years still left in him so if a bid of £40m for courtois was made then I would sell. In an ideal world you would like to keep your best players but when the club is losing money due to no champions league and who knows if we will be top four next season, because of this courtois is a player I would sell for no less than £40m to strengthen other areas where we are weak.

I think we would mad to let him leave for £40 million, he is what 23? That means as a goalkeeper he has another 15 years in him and will only get better, most goalkeepers say they peak at about 30 years old. I appreciate that he didn't have a great season but if Chelsea want to compete at the top again we need to keep our best players - Courtois, Hazard, Costa and we will need 2 top keepers

Don't forget about Jan Oblak, he's one of the better and more realistic options out there and would probably come to the Bridge for 30mil.
