Hi, United fan here in peace, I was wondering genuinely how you feel seeing Jose as United manager? It still seems surreal to me atm. Do you think he will bring success back to us or implode again? Cheers guys.

Agree0 Disagree1

Short term will certainly be successful Welsh, no idea about long term cause no precedent! But will alienate some players certainly regardless of fan status and your press officers are going to have a nightmare, not only with him but also Zlatan's ego!
Always welcome mate.

Welsh,

Jose will totally ruin you.

Sell the players he doesn't like, alienate the youth players, sack the Physio, tap up players, have a massive 'ego' fight with Zlatan, sleep with DDG's wife, try to gouge out Ronald Koeman's eyes on the touchline and sell the image rights of Man Utd.

Good luck mate :-)

At first I thought it sucked that he'd manage you. However, it didn't work out with us and I'm very excited about Conte coming in after the Euros. So now I'm starting to be indifferent about it.
I think you'll achieve great success with Mourinho at the helm and the money your club can spend. Title favourites for next season in my book.

Cheers CFC and as ever Dags lol seems Jose has a lot to do to change the perception he is a successful yet ultimately destructive manager. I'm just going to look forward to the ride ha. Well that's one way of ensuring DDG doesn't go to Real Madrid ha.

Thanks Jackson, yeah I believe just my Jose coming in he will galvanise the current squad, add in a few top players and we can compete for the prem next season.
It will be interesting to see how Conte sets you guys up formation wise and of course who he brings in, going to be an interesting summer of activity I think.

{Ed002's Note - It is not really about who "he" brings in WRD. It doesn't work quite like that.}

Ah ok Ed, how does it work at Chelsea if you don't mind my asking? I know it's not my club but interesting nonetheless, guess it's different at every club.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained before - I really have no interest in going through teh same things over and over.}

I was gutted when the news first broke and I think he'll win you some silverware although not the champions league and most likely not the league. I can't see him staying very long as always. I'm very much looking forward to seeing pep vs Jose in the Manchester derbies too even as a Chelsea fan.

I think Jose is an exceptional manager and what with his talent and the financial might of Man Utd, there is no way he won't be successful. I think once Guardiola went to City, Jose was the only choice for United. I think in a two team city he was the only manager who could go toe to toe with Guardiola.

Saying that, I am very excited about Mr Conte arriving at Chelsea. I think he is top class and we'll hopefully have a great deal of sustained success together.

Jose and Utd are a match made in heaven. Utd are desperate to get the fergie days back and I'm sure Jose wants his big ego back after a disaster off a season on and off the field. Woodward and co have the financial muscle to pay silly money and silly wages to whoever Jose desires.

I'm not too sure on the glory years returning as its a more even playing field now in footballing terms throughout the premiership but I'm sure trophys await Jose at old Trafford. The only concern would be in three years time when he probably looks for a new challenge, maybe even the Portugal job, then your back to square one.

Ok ok Edinho I as only asking as was mid convo ha, ill use the search function. Rvd yeah it'll be interesting to see the touch line as much as the game ha.

Personally I would agree with others in terms of this being uncharted territory. For seemingly his entire career it was mentioned that Jose had eyes for the Man U position and since I was a Chelsea fan I wouldn't have it but the series of events that have unfolded have shown me to be ignorant. That being said we will truly see how much he values working at your club because largely his values and the values of the club don't line up. He will achieve results, period, which is the most important aspect at any club. Beyond that he has never gone out of his way to integrate youth at any club. He also places vastly more importance on the result than the aesthetics of the tactics (think tony pulis on a much grander scale) which also will grind on a fan base that demands both. Saying all of this Jose can completely redefine himself as a manager and ease to the clubs traditions but he's been incredibly successful for many years now which doesn't make the change seem likely.
