Completely deserved result for England against Russia, Hudgson and his staff are complete idiots imo and lost the match with bad subs. My non-professional eye told me that Eng was the much superior team going forward (like a Arsenal) and possession and attacking was the way to kill off that match the way it was going including pressing in their half. Sterling despite a misstep or two was probably, along with Walker the most impactful player and should have never come off, not with his energy on defence pressing and certainly not for that finished Milner who should not see the pitch. The two least impactful players for me were A llanna and H Kane who looked completely spent from about the 65th minute and never looked like scoring. I don't have a problem with Wiltshire coming on but Sturridge for Llanna and Vardy for Kane would have produced at least a 2/ 0 win. Play to your strength instead of subbing like your up 3-0.

We were the much better side throughout the game but looked shaky from set pieces which cost us in the end. I think woy must of taken the wrong pills before the game because why he didn't take sterling off who was utter sh@te bemused me. Should've brought on vardy for her n to make us more direct and threatening on the counter as well as bringing on someone tall to help with the set pieces but he confirmed the nations fears and didn't really look up to the task. I'm still optimistic we'll beat Wales and Slovakia to win the group. Chin up lads in our only 3 decent tournament runs in 66 90 and 96 we started with uninspiring draws so I now fully expect us to win it!

Sterling was crap all game. Plays for him self. losing the ball and walking back. Made three runs . went no where. ones tackling himself.

Just negative subs
. storing off barkley on
Kane off Vardy on when 1-0 up run at the back four instead of dropping deeper and putting def subs on.

Sterling has no end product, a one trek pony.

Not sure why Rooney was taken off as he was bossing the midfield the whole match. Vardy should've been introduced with all his energy to press their team and not give them any space whilst also offering a goal threat. Milner offers absolutely nothing anymore as he's lost his engine so I'm not sure why he's in France. Last night actually reminded me of Chelsea under Hiddink last season- 1-0 lead, sitting deep and conceding late equalisers to draw 1-1. Still think we'll beat Wales and Slovakia though because the performance was very good.

Agreed about Rooney Siam he put in a good shift in defence too and was very active. It was clearly Hudgson's tactics not to press up the pitch until Russia got close to half line but you're right on Vardy also, there were opportunities to press, which seen to trouble the Russian cbs and completely take away their build up play in the first 45. Kane was active early on in the match it just appeared to me in the 2nd half that he was either gassed or decided to save his energy for attack once possession was gained. I thought the same of Llanna was also started well (except for missing chances) and just seemed to fade in the 2nd half. My above assessment was that those two positions, cf and rw, needed fresh legs and more activity in the 2nd half but was not noticed by the manager. Although it was a point, it just feels more like a loss because of how dominating the performance had been before the decision to sit back and defend, it seem like many Chelsea matches since about Jan 2015. Milner was a poor sub, he was involved in the buildup that led to the equalizer although the cbs should have done more to put the header off.

I know Sterling wasted chances also and didn't play a perfect match, however his activity and pace caused problems for the Russians on the left similar to what Walker did on the right and although never a great defender I thought he pressed and closed down space well which is what he's supposed to do to try and force mistakes and bad passes.
