The scary thing is imagine if we didn't offer terry a new contract and still struggled to sign anyone we'd be having Mikel as our CB!

As much as I love Chelsea and always will, they have really backed themselves into a corner here. One week to go in this window and no centre back, we knew long before the summer we needed one. Christeansen would have done the job but he was not recalled from lone. Now all of Europe knows we are desperate for a centre back and will play hardball with prices. Some of the powers that be need their backsides kicked for this one.

Like I've said in the past why not negotiate before the window opens, to give ourselfs room for manoeuvre, then if any snags we still got months left not days.

They have tried all window how is it our fault sides are t selling top class centre backs? Can't blame em.

Totally agree Blueboy1, the club have been actively trying to sign CB's all window, but they aren't going to just sign someone for the sake of it. Top quality CB's are few and far between nowadays and clubs are not wanting to sell there prized assets which has made this window very difficult!
We haven't really had as much time as other clubs as well. It hasn't helped that Conte didn't join up with the club until after the euros, with his main focus during that time being solely on progressing as far as possible with Italy.
I have 100% faith that the club will get some business done before the end of the window and that the right players will come in.
I wish some posters on here would be would be a bit more patient and see the bigger picture instead of posting their daily negative BS, it's starting to get a bit boring!
