I think we got to be really patient as fans, last season we finished 10 th, I'm also really optimistic about our long term future, I like conte I hope we give him a few seasons to change us, and make his own team in his own shape, but what I'm most excited about is our younger players coming through the academy, it seems to me that this is the start of something very special about to happen, similar to man Utd in the early 90s, just look at our players that's come through / coming through - Nathan ake (21) kurt zouma ( 21) christenson (20) ola aina (20) chalobah (21)
Lewis barker (21) loftus -cheek (20)
Kennedy (21) Jeremie boga (19) Isaiah Brown (19) Charly Musonda (19) solanke (19) tammy Abraham (19)
I know we have other youngsters also, I honestly believe that most of these players will have Chelsea futures, there what you would call wonder kids, like I said I think it's similar to man Utd class of 92, even if some of them don't become world class superstars, then we can at least keep them as squad players instead of the likes of mikel, and not waste 20-30 million on people like pedro, I believe that what ever happens in between, we will be a very good team in 2-3 years time, we just need contiguity of a manager to see it through, that's why utd and Arsenal always seem to have the best youngsters, because the manergers could see them evolve over the years, the kids will just get better and better, I remember watching the 2006 champs league final, and a 24 year old Xavi was on the bench with a 21 year old inesta, the point is most of ours are 19-21 so just sit back and give them 2 - 3 more seasons!

Couldn't agree more. Some brilliant players coming through. Baker, Christensen and Abraham look very good among the others. I hope that Conte gets his chance, though I fear he may be sacked if we finish outside the top 4. Still think we need an exceptional RW and possibly another CM. Hopefully Roman will give us what we want in the next 2 windows.

Do you guys believe that your club has the patience or intention of bringing these young guys through? I have no idea how good these youngsters are as I don't support Chelsea. But I would agree with you that it would be better play them than waste money on average foreign talent.
I just feel that the pressure to succeed is so high as the top clubs that it prohibits the bleeding in of young talent. I guess time will tell.

You say you have no idea how good these players are, well most of them have won something stupid like 4 of the last fa youth cups, and last year we won the under 18 champions league, with the right guidance we could have 5-6 England internationals and and 1 of the best young ball playing centre backs in the world, I think city want him and Barcelona have been sniffing around, a few other talented foreign lads, this time it's different as chalobah and loftus cheek and aina are getting little chances in the first team, this time it's different because they really seem a level higher than others we had previous, and this time we don't have 1 or 2 quite good players, we have about 12 players who could literally make it at the top table, fingers crossed its the start of special times.

Really honestly sick of constantly reading this bring young talent thru talk all the time when the truth is that Chelsea (or any club in world) would love to bring thru it's young talent it spent a lot of time and money on but honestly don't feel some are good enough. We've seen the battles over the signature of young talent by top clubs every year so we know they value them highly and it makes perfect business sense, but when these youngsters go on loan to lesser clubs and lesser leagues and they don't absolutely stand out and dominate like a Debryne did or a Christensen (not just get playing time) then how in the world would they succeed in our 1st team?

The very few that show they have IT get their opportunities weather with us or another top club offers to buy them because you can't hide talent.

What people seem to fail to understand is that it's a long process. Some of the English lads have been at the club since toddlers. This doesn't happen overnight. This is the best bunch of kids we've probably ever had or at least in a very long time. I'm certain a few will come through within the next 5 years.

We need a new spine. I wouldn't mind seeing a Butland, Christensen, Baker and Abraham core in five years.
