What are your views on how Jose is doing at Utd, . He usually arrives at a club signs world class players, which have an immediate affect, and the Jose man management skills result in the team being top of the table.
He has signed world class players, but it all seems rather flat. Last year was very odd, very un Jose like, something was seriously wrong, This time he will have to do it differently, and build from a not bad, but an average start. Would another manager, who had the players he has now, be further up the table, by adopting a system that suited the team, which conte seems to have done. Will be interesting.

His midfield and attack are incredibly slow and most of them seem to need a role free of defensive responsibility (Zlatan, pogba, Rooney, mkhitaryan, mata) . For me it reminds me a LOT of the lack of balance we displayed in last years team. I'm kind of confused as to why the likes of martial and mkhitaryan aren't getting a game. It's also strange that he's already getting into it with some of their players such as Shaw and Mkhitaryan. I'll be watching very intently to see how things turn out.

The United squad JM took over was very average and has been for almost 5 years now. Even now maybe only 2 of their players would get into our starting 11 in Pogba and Mkhitryan and that's only if they performed as they did last year. He also has had to deal with the delicate situation of trying to fit Rooney into the side. Plus I believe he wasn't able to shift as many players as he had wanted to. They probably should be doing better but I think we'all only see if JM's still got it next year.

Average? They have one of the most expensive teams in the world and they play much worse football than under LVG. Personally I think that LVG was on a really good way to make them a great team during his first season at Man Utd.
Mourinho have lost it.

If I was a Man United fan I would be really worried. Mourinho relies on very expensive top quality players and their individual quality not on the team like Simeone, Klopp or Conte. The times when you could win big relying on players' individual quality has passed. Well organized teams are the future.

If I pay a million pounds for a burger does that make it the best burger in the world? Or am I just desperate/ stupid/ extremely rich? United overpaid for players like Fellaini, Shaw, Martial and Pogba. Realisitically how many of their players would start at any of the other top6 clubs. Not many.

Sadly, Mourinho's tenure at Manchester United could be short. His rants over years were good to hear when he defended his players but as time went on they became more bizarre and I am sure it did not appeal to Abramovich towards the end and I am not sure it will sit well at Manchester. I think Ibrahimovich and Pogba and Guardiola at City are learning a harsh lesson about the 'very' competitive EPL.

Generally I agree with you.Overpaid or not world class or not doesn't necessarily mean that they will fit as a team. That's Real Madrid syndrome but they have 6 or 7 world class players plus big help from refs.
The real coach is the one who is able to make a good team with players on his disposal.

I think he's going through a little bit of a midlife crisis tbh. He doesn't need to do half the extracurricular stuff let's say, like he's doing. He needs to stick to motivating his players and showing them tactical genius like he did at Chelsea first time around and Inter. IMO everything he's done since is not characteristic of the man.
