I've been thinking of our squad, the players we got out on loan, and incoming transfers, January and summer Windows, so basically thinking I hope we don't waste money for the sake of it, what I mean is don't waste 20 odd mill on people like baba again when we all ready got ake, I take it that Terry, ivanovic, mikel, and fabreagas will all be leaving our club, these players have hardly played this season so do we really need to replace them?, as in 1 in 1 out? , I think they have already been replaced last summer, aina/ Moses into the first team squad ivanovic out, chalobah in mikel out, Terry out Luiz in and zouma back will be like a new signing, Kante in fabreagas out, I think our squad is pretty big as we can call on 30 something players out on loan, and our best 11 atm looks strong, Lewis baker back next season hopefully I rate him high, christenson back fingers crossed I think he will be 1 of the best in a few years, so if ake comes back as well to be squad member, that's 3 new squad members, so what I would like is us not to sign squad players like baba, shurle, and sign 2/ 3 top quality players who would get in our starting 11 and improve our starting 11, we all got our opinions on who we should sign, I'm 1 of the ones who think we could upgrade our right side attack, I know we haven't been linked but how good would we be if we signed coutinho from Liverpool, imagine him and hazard together, a signing of that quality could really take us to the next level, that's what I'm saying don't sign average joes to sit on the bench, I think we are 2/ 3 signings away from being on par with the likes of Barcelona, Bayern, Madrid, as long as those 2/ 3 signings are top quality, my personal preference would be to sign 1 of these 3 to play as right attacker, Dybala, Greissmen, Coutinho,
And a top central defender 1 of Bonucci, manolas, this type of quality, I know I've gone on and my post is big sorry, I just hope we don't miss this opportunity and really push on to the very top.

I think your right about the right wing for me everyone concentrates on hazard so we need someone equally creative there. Pedro is good no doubt but not brilliant and willian will go all day but with little end product. i'd love Dybala, Greizmann or Lacazette personally.

Yeah rate lacazette, I would be happy with him he looks a good footballer who can play out wide or through the middle, and in the last 3 seasons only ibra has scored more goals in France than him, I think he got 50 odd, Sanchez from Arsenal as well a good option, he played on the right for Barcelona, has high work rate, score a lot of goals even before he moved to number 9, and by all accounts is looking to leave Arsenal.

Dybala is wonderful but he's going to Madrid.

Madrid and Atletico have got a transfer ban. I'd go for Dybala personally as he's very good all round, he's left footed and he's improving still. Not to mention he's a fantastic set piece taker which is something we lack. Not bothered about CB with Zouma back. But we need to bring Christensen in and rotate him with Luiz as the ball playing CB.

We desperately need someone who can rotate with Alonso though. I don't rate Baba I just don't think he's good enough. Shaw would be perfect if he were available. Another fantastic left back who's gone under the radar the last couple of years is Faouzi Ghoulam of Napoli, he's a cracking player.

I agree with the sentiments that we need to start thinking about beyond the next 6 months when buying players and this will lower the amount of guys we have on loan. I will say that we currently lack depth beyond our first 11 in many positions; see game against west ham. I agree that we need a new right winger that is genuinely top class; if hazard gets hurt we are hosed at the current moment. I think a lot comes down to where dave's long term position is. At left wing back I feel comfortable with Baba and Ake bridging the gap until Jay Da Silva is integrated (which I don't think is far off) . If Christensen returns I don't think we need a new centrehalf. Centremid scares me because I feel all of cesc, Oscar, mikel, and (sadly) Ruben don't fit the current system. I would love to see us bring in Naby Keita from RB Leipzig who reminds me a ton of Kante. Regardless I think the most important thing is picking a playing style and system and sticking to it.

What got me thinking about this subject, is we seem to buy players for a season or 2 and then sell them, and we always seem to buy a winger almost every year lately, go back about 5 years and to date we bought mata, Hazard, t. hazard, salah, shurlle, Willian, cuadrado, pedro, debryne, almost year after year, and still to this date many Chelsea fans still think we need a top quality right winger / attacker, just look at the amount of money we have spent and we still need or want a new right winger, I think the way forward is to use the model of man Utd in the 90s, bring squad players in from the academy, who are usually home grown no agent fees like a signing, they will be on less wages, Use Utd as the template for a squad look at Nicky but, Johnny Evans, wes brown, Phil Neville, ect, none of them were amazing but they filled squad to a decent level instead of wasting transfer fees, surely we should do this and then maybe only sign 1-2 world class players every year who will come in to the starting 11 and improve it, Barcelona basically do the same thing if you look at there bench it's mainly academy players, and then they just go oh we need a left winger ok 70 mill for Neymar, year or so later oh we want a striker ok 75 mill for Suarez, I'd say we 100% got a better bench than Barcelona, and probly Bayern and even Madrid, if you look back over the years we usually spend about 100 odd million most years on transfers, I hope we use the academy for squad filling and if any turn out amazing then great it's a bonus, if they burn out average it's win win, no transfer fee, low wages, home grown, and would probly grow up supporting Chelsea, and wouldn't mind being a sub, then we sign world class players like, Dybala, bale, Neymar, Greissmen, coutinho who ever we need.

Coutinho is not world class mate.

15 Nov 2016 21:04:03
world class is an imaginary line, and to me he's there or there about.

17 Nov 2016 13:35:25
Pedro is unplayable ATM.

17 Nov 2016 14:44:16
Yeah pedro has played well the last 3 games, and he's only young ain't he? so got lots of time to improve consistency, and become a real world beater.

Guessing that's a joke Cat, he's about 29 haha.
