I realise this may be premature, but who would we all like to replace Diego?
I think Lukaku is a non starter, I've never seen him link up in tight situations consistently.
Morata is the obvious one, he links well, can play as both a lone striker and a pair etc. Ed001 questioned his work rate, I've not noticed this but I'll take his word on it.
The other is Belotti, he looks a touch raw but looks like a fairly complete striker to me.
The others would all mean a different style of play (I'm ignoring Sanchez because I think he's off elsewhere) Griezman etc are great, but I think we'll look to keep the style of play.

My perfect three would be Sanchez and Hazard behind Morata because they can link up well and when I've seen Morata his work rate is very good. We need someone with a brain who can link up well with Hazard who is our best player so Morata would be my Choice as the likes of Lewandowski and Dybala are very unrealistic. Aubameyang is a great player too. Muller would be another shout I just can't see him leaving Bayern.
{Ed001's Note - Morata's was great, then he returned to Madrid. Not sure whether he is sulking because he is not getting enough game time, it is the way he is being instructed to play or if he has just dropped off his workrate because he feels he has made it. That can often be a problem with Madrid, as they allow the players so much leeway and freedom that they start to lose focus.}

Agree there antonius. I was a fan of Morata before the best team in London showed interest.

Not really an abundance of realistic choice. Not the biggest fan of Morata, although the most likely! Can Morata lead the line and have the presence that Costs has! Doubtful. It's a very hard one to pick really!

Where have you all seen this Morata workrate? I'm presuming from the bench at both of his previous clubs? The guy can't get a game a Madrid, hardly got a game for Juve! Not sure what you're watching but I can't believe any sort of fee over £20m is even being considered - the guy gets no football!
All I've seen on this site lately is "if you want to be the best you have to buy the best" and people wanting to sell the likes of Alsonso and Willian. Fact is Morata isn't Chelsea calibre, never has been, never will be. If you want to be the best let's not mess about going for a guy that's never really proved a thing. Comparing him to Lukaku, an absolute goal machine who's proven in the prem is absolutely ridiculous! They shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath! I'd go for Aubameyang, he's available.

More goals per minute from open play than Ronaldo this season.
Played lots for Juve and was very good.
Not an absolute certainty but a more complete player than Lukaku.
Only my opinion mind.
