When Cahill gets dropped from this Chelsea team it really is going to be disgusting that there's no English players in our starting XI.

Agree2 Disagree1

Chelsea is not just about the English players man. It's not the club's fault that they are not up to scratch. Which English player will get into the first team of the top teams in Europe beside Kane? None. You should be disappointed with the English F. A for not laying a proper developmental plan in place. Peace.

I do agree with you in a way. We need to make our international team better. In my own personal opinion I think every team in England should have to start three English players in their team. But yeah looking at English players only Kane and Alli are close to being world class. I think Lewis Baker should be given a lot of gametime here next season he's got like 14 goals and 10 asssists playing with average players, how good could he be playing with Hazard and Costa. I've never seen someone so good with both feet like Baker before he's super talented.

Two things.
Why is it disgusting?
I'm hoping Chalaboa and just maybe Lewis-Baker will be regular staters next season.

Because we're and ENGLISH team have you not noticed? Chalobah and Baker both regular starters lol wow don't make me laugh were Chelsea Fc we don't play youth!

Maybe there should be English players that are good enough to start for us then. Which English player would you have in our starting lineup? Kane, yeah. But no way in hell Tottenham sells their superstar to us. And for the rest I can't think of any English player that I'd have start for us. I don't rate Walker that highly (though he'd be better than Moses at RWB), and while Alli is good I think we should get someone even better to upgrade on Pedro.

I see both sides of this. what I am happy with is the amount of homegrown and English (or eligible to play for England) players coming through the various academy teams. We're talking the vast majority which can only be a good thing for both Chelsea, assuming some of them make it, or domestic football as a whole.

English players are already hyped up and overpriced what would happen if you had to play 3 of them all the time? :D.

01 Jun 2017 10:41:04
Superfrank and others, I couldn't care less if a player comes from the planet Zog as long as he is proud to put on the Chelsea shirt, that's good enough for me.
As far as Chalaboa and Lewis Baker are concerned, its about opinions and I didn't mean to make you laugh!

01 Jun 2017 10:13:43
In as much as I would like English players in our team to boost our local support, I think they are highly overhyped and overpriced. Why buy average player far more higher amount when there are better players around that come cheaper and would deliver.
We need to bring through but not at expense of our team success. First team play should be earnned and not given. So whoever that deserves it should be featured otherwise buy qualities to impove us. Quota system breeds mediocrity instead of merit.

Lol, so they have to be English regardless of talent to ply at Chelsea. Yeah alright then. Tell you what Roman, next year I'll play some alright English players, not world beaters or anything like that, but because they're English I'm going to play them. Give your head a wobble mate. If they are good enough they will play regardless of where they come from. English have been over hyped for years. Even the youngsters.
