Everybody seems to believe Morata is closing in. I will be 100% satisfied with that and I see it as an upgrade to a cyclothymic, unreliable and a liability of a man Costa. He will fit in the system well.

Bit of respect mate, he's led us to 2 titles in 3 years!

How is he an upgrade? Costa is world class, Morata is not.

Costa is only world class on his day and the man has too many off days and throw in poor discipline and I think we will be an all round better team with him gone.

Of course Costa can be infuriating, but when focusing on playing is exceptionally good. Have just been looking again at some of his goals, and the number of points he gained us last season, often with nigh solo efforts. He will be missed. NOw to have had Morata as an addition to Costa in a season with CL and EPL would have been fantastic. Want MB in squad too, and with more game time, but surely nowhere near Costa (or Morata) as yet.

Let's not write him off yet!

Byrrab your comments are rather silly.

I'm sure all Chelsea fans will agree Diego Costa was more than reliable and brilliant striker. I think your forgetting his goals that won us the league on 2 occasions. Morata is a brill piece of business but he is not an upgrade to Diego Costa yet. Hopefully he has the potential to be an upgrade.

World class? I don't think so.

19 Jul 2017 22:11:37
Costa wasn't world class when he joined neither. I'm sure Antonio knows what he's doing and who he wants. Plus I'd take his choice of players over anyone else's opinions.

Is costa world class? Terrible attitude, terrible temperament, misses some sitters, always pulling out wide, falls over too easily. Not a professional we need at our club I'm afraid.

Fundamentally, Costa was bad for both the image of the club (let's face it, it doesn't take much for clubs to dislike us! ) AND the squad.
Those images of him kicking the crap out of the training ground still disturb me and they appeared to disturb the rest of the players too!
In any case, I remain convinced he played a part in Mourinho's change in attitude (besides of course, the ahem, antics* of John Obi Mikel and B. Ivanovic) .
