I know a lot of you will disagree with me but the last 2 games has shown what Matic gave to us in midfield. He doesn't catch the eye or do anything special but he's a physical presence, Kante cannot do it all alone with Fabregas basically a passenger beside him. Hopefully Bakayoko is fit soon because we really miss that physical presence in the middle. Overall We look very weak in midfield. And once again pace in our defense looks a real issue. I know people say it's only pre-season, but in fact it's been an issue since the end of last season, especially the fa cup final. I don't want to sound all doom and gloom but just pointing the obvious.

I agree I think we need to try Rudiger on the left of the back three as he's faster than both Cahill and Christensen.
Bakayoko is physical and fast and will be welcome with open arms to our midfield. Cesc should only be starting if it's a 3-5-2.
Alonso will be a very good squad player but wing backs need pace and we desperately need Alex Sandro.

I think 352 is a no no. Where u playing hazard pedro willian? We will need another striker. Bats is not going to be one of those full timers and if its llorente i would be peed off.
I like 4141. Similar to the way we play now but luiz would be CD/ DM.

Bobby. I hear you. Matic is a bit of an essien but he is no makalele. I think its time he went. He misses jose or he wants out. He remains proffessional but for me his heart isn't at chelsea.

It's clear that when cesc plays in middle in a two it's like playing with ten men when we don't have the ball. Cesc would be brilliant in a no10 behind morata as would hazard and also if cesc had 2 of Kante bakyoko sanches next to him would allow the freedom.

It's not so much what Matic gives us rather than what Fabregas doesn't give us. We're wide open in midfield with him next to Kante. If he then doesn't create some very good chances in attack, he's a real liability on the pitch.

Jackson: Totally agree and hopefully we will only use him in dominant situations. For all his pin point passing the rest of his game weakens the team considerably and usually drags another player out of position to cover.
