It not always about going out and spending 70-80 million on marquee signings. A decent manager, like Conte, knows the quality/ attributes he wants in a player. He can get the best out of good players. Obviously not ever player he would want is available for a number of reasons. Maybe have a little faith in the squad of players we have instead of panicking we haven't spent 70 million in over a week or so.

i agree patience u swear we were in a relegation battle we sign a decent back up keeper to replace begovic signed a good defender in rudiger and good midfielder in bakayoko and a top notch striker in morata no fear of us. with a bit of luck qel get sanches done now on loan and maybe even sandro who knows.

Can't agree mote JFCF all you have to remember that pur best signigs have came relatevely cheap compared to the other teams spendings. We are the most succesfull English Club of last 10 years this means club is doing something good and all we fans have to do is stay behind the team and relax!

Bakayoko was the replacement for Matic. Remember him?
If we get another cm it will be a squad player or someone versatile.

Bakayoko is 22 y. o. kid with no PL experience whatsoever. He is injured, had surgery and can flopp just like that. He at 3 years away of replacing Matic. Wake up they f. ed up the club. But this is serious this time.

Bakayoko made the Champions League team of the season last year. Wake up.

Last year we still had excellent squad. We lost Terry,Ivanovic,Mikel,Oscar,Costa,Matic,Ake,Begovic,RLC loaned,Chalobah.
The difference is more than obvious. Maybe Bakayoko and Morata are promising players,but Morata is a bench warmer from Real(he was bench warmer mainly at Juventus as well) Bakayoko who had 1 good season which means absolutely nothing with 0 PL experience.Rüdiger who suffered serious injury last year.
We have Hazard who was operated after serious injury less than 2 months ago.
On what you are building your optimism.???

Matt Martin, how much did Azpilicueta cost? Or Moses, Ivanovic, de Bruyne, Lukaku, Cahill, Frankie Lampard? And best of all Franco Zola at £5.7m! Everything that's shiny is not always gold. I think Danny Drinkwater would be an excellent buy.

Drinkwater is a good player, not debating that. He is similar to cesc in his style of play. two slow to play in a two in middle. So could cover for cesc but cesc will be behind Kante and bakyoko. imo we need bit of class with energy and passing abilty, to me sanches has energy passing creativeness and has played at top level., . And it's really not about spending huge amounts. a loan would be great,

Anti - Matic and Costa have been replaced (with better players), the rest you named barely played.
Conte has had a fully preseason in which to prepare (not to mention last season)
We've signed more and better players than at this point last year (by some distance)
We have champions league football, a shed load of money from sales, an owner happy to spend, and players will want to come to us. I expect some August spending.
But let's get the right ones.

The thing is that I have enormous trust when it comes to Conte. But this time they really played him down (board) . It will be extremely difficult for him this season. I'm afraid that majority of do not see real picture, carried with last season success.
