Lukaku, Ox, Barkley, llorente

ox and Barkley were out of the clubs hands, but not being able to get Lukaku and Llorente done is just embarrassing. Add to that we signed Zappcosta?! It might come good I'll give them all a chance but chelsea still have no depth and have only themselves to blame.

Hard to not be negative guys I do apologise.

Did we ever bid for Lukaku. he wouldn't of been right for us. Llorente would of been nice but embarrassing is a bit harsh. We only sold those who wanted to leave and have bought a Gk CB WB (or deep lying wide midfielder antibot 😜) 2 x CM (assuming drinkwater gets over the line) and a ST (who is much better suited to our style of play then Lukaku) also have 2 x promising youth who could get some good game time.
We don't want to do a Birmingham and buy 14 new players.
We look good and will fight hard and we will cheer them on through the sun and rain.

{Ed018's Note - there was no bid for Lukaku. He was never coming back to Chelsea}

It's embarrassing that we tried to sign him in January and this month too, Spurs come in and sign him instantly

I find it hard to believe we were never after Lukaku. The man literally signalled he had an agreement with Chelsea and BBC and Sky (very reliable news outlets) both reported we were interested in him all summer and that we matched united bid just too late.

There is literally no proof that we were never after him, and I do believe reliable sources even though they may be off of the details.

I've said this before being interested in a player doesn't mean we have registered a bid or any initial interest is ongoing!
It is the Media that continually make up this crap that requires questioning not our club.
My opinion but rheoatr only two sources of information worth believing, the Eds and Matt Law.
From what I gather two players (The Ox and Barclay) have turned down the chance to join the best club in the world. The Ox wanted to play for his dream team. Barclay decided to stay at Everton because he is a numpty!
NO offer was ever made for Lukaku and I also understand the club never put an offer on the table for Llorente.
I'm happy with our signings. Five good outfield players that bring down the average age of the squad and if you add in the fees received from sales to this windows sales, I believe the club is Net up on transfers.
I like the fact that we are a well run club!
COME ON THE CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND.

No offense Standard but not sure why you're using this site if you don't believe the eds when they tell us inside information. Sky is not reliable in the slightest, in fact I'm pretty sure they post misleading articles in order to drum up bets on other transfers, in order to cover the losses they'll make on the correct transfer.
You also contradict yourself; you say you trust Sky etc but they reported that we never bid for Llorente, so clearly we didn't try to sign him this summer. So which is it? We tried for Llorente and Sky are unreliable or we didn't try for him and therefore we weren't beaten by Spurs.

Fuser it's not that I don't believe them I do trust there input mostly and I use this site like everyone else to share views on the club we love.

I don't agree with ed on the whole Lukaku thing as their is no evidence given at all, he might be right he might be wrong but literally every media site has Lukaku as our primary target this year, surely everyone couldn't have got that wrong and no one report that we hadn't even bid for him?

Like I said, Lukaku literally signalled he had an agreement with Chelsea, we just didn't get it done.

01 Sep 2017 02:18:26
I didn't outright say I trust sky on everything I said I believe something if it's reported on two reliable sources and every other source there is. Many sources reported we were after llorente, just a conflict of price was holding the deal up.

01 Sep 2017 07:55:32
All about opinions Standard but your so wrong!

{Ed001's Note - I don't understand why he is saying every media organisation was saying one thing so it must be right. Perhaps he should read the article that we posted up yesterday to explain why it is so many just report that 'X newspaper' or 'Y website' said. It is simply a way of getting an article on the news aggregators, it does not make it more reliable, they are literally just copying and pasting what someone else said to get cheap hits. Chelsea never made a move for Lukaku. Whether or not they would have got him if they had is something we will never know.}

Sometimes Ed, would you like a lump of wood to bash people over there metaphorical head?

{Ed001's Note - or a lump hammer....}

01 Sep 2017 08:47:08
Still wouldn't work! Not sure how you guys put up with it.

{Ed001's Note - nor me to be honest.}

01 Sep 2017 21:08:29
Besides ed001, it's so hard to prove a negative. What does he expect the eds to provide? A photo of our transfer targets that marina keeps in her purse? Or perhaps he wants you to hack Emanalo's email address for our target list to prove that Lukaku was never a target 😂

And of course all the media outlets are going to post about us wanting Lukaku. Headlines such as 'United to sign Lukaku unapposed' are hardly going to get as many hits and clicks. Whereas drama filled ones such as 'Chelsea make eleventh hour bid to pip Utd to Lukaku' are almost always guaranteed to get hits.

The thing people should do with anything in life in regards to information is consider what a persons motives are, and then look critically at what they're saying and decide whether it's simply to further their own agenda or whether they're indeed trying to offer an impartial view.

{Ed001's Note - spot on mate. The sad thing is people want to believe it so they do.}
