Ed01 I'd like to know your opinion on Conte wanting a public vote of confidence from the board.

Can you see him being here next season? Got to admit, none of his (many, many) reported potential replacements excite me.

{Ed001's Note - I found that truly bizarre to be honest. Sounds weak to me. A confident manager does not need or want things like that. It really does suggest he is no self-belief left and that suggests he won't see out the season.}

A strange one I admit but I would go for Gary Rowett.

Having the media on your back week after week after week is not easy. All Conte was asking was just some support from the club to slow down the rumours so he can get on with his job.

I don't see anything weak about it. If the club either extend his contract or state that they are confident in him it would slow down the rumour story's somewhat.

he doesn't seem like someone who's wanting out. He's saying all the right things and seems generally committed.

I thought it weird sounds like someone needs a hug
It's a results led business and when results aren't good your boss isn't going to say hey don't worry your doing a great job hang in there old boy we've got your back after spending 100s of millions
Why would the board back him after publicly having a go at there transfer policy
I think he's offering an ultimatum back me or sack me policy then he looks good at the end of it
And there certainly not going to back him before the next few tricky matches then wear would that leave them if we lost
All politics what happened to just playing football.

You have to have sympathy with Conte. They are playing poorly overall but hanging onto the big spending clubs n their quest for at least a top four finish, they definitely have not built on last seasons unlikely title win and just spent £50m on unfit players, none I would suggest the choice of Conte, probably fill the positions he wanted players for but someone has looked for 'bargains'. He is mirroring the Mourinho reign which I have pointed out as have several newspapers, they are NOT both in the wrong. There is something fundamentally wrong at Chelsea Football Club.

Sounds like hazard if you read ed001 on rumour page.

GFG: Probably there is a lot of truth in his comment because that has circulated at the ground on match days. With Mourinho Hazard came up again alongside Fabregas who probably had the finger pointed at him the most and was interviewed on the subject. If RA is strong with his managers surely he would not tolerate that sort of behaviour from a player. Hazard is very good but not 'that' good and he fuels a lot of the Madrid rumours.

Sorry Ed001 but completely disagree. He wants the statement because the media tried to sack him last year before the Leicester game at home and are doing it again. Conte has got worse scrutiny than Jose at Utd, Pep at City, Klopp at Liverpool or Pochettino at Spurs. Pep is being lauded as a genius after spending god knows how much to win and Pochettino and Klopp both time after time have choked at the big occasion. Even last year when we were winning they were trying to create nonsense. Only manager who gets close to that disrespect from journalists is Wenger.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so, but if a manager is worried about what the media says then he is weak.}

No worse than Klopp's comments dismissing the away game at Spurs earlier this season, he was clearly worried about what the media says. Same with Pochettino almost every interview.
