Terry Venables wrote an article three weeks ago talking about his time at Chelsea and all the leaders he had around him on the pitch, likewise Wayne Bridge voiced the same opinion on his time at the club and that is a weakness we currently have. Since Terry, Lampard and Drogba to an extent we have been rudderless in games. Cahill is not a leader and as much as I fancied Azi for the role, he has not shown any special aptitude for being a strong leader. Watching Terry last night, slower but still commands the defence as if he had been there for years.

Conte got rid of the 2 leaders in the dressing room (Costa and Luiz) because they threatened his 'authority'.

MDW: Leaders or troublemakers? I could never see Costa as a leader, driving and organising the team. Luiz I could and it might be what he needed to calm him as on a bad day he can be reckless.

As far as I know Luiz is still at our club and Costa wanted out.
