I thought kante played well today. Won lots of balls and always pressed hard and got to his man and slowed them down, played and kept ball well, albeit no defence splitting passes but that's not expected, surprised a few have mentioned him. Though he was good, he was the legs for Jorginho who passed sideways and backwards expect for a few of his famous first time blind pass over the top, I'd like to think in most of our next 6 we will only need him rather than him and Jorginho and get a balanced team going forward and backwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

You must of watched a different match to me matt mate
Kante must of given the ball away more than anyone on the pitch
2 managers fearing for there jobs the match was appalling
Positives
Defended solidly
Reece James such a good player already. could be world class
Mendy looking better than kepa already
Tiago silva has settled defence
Chillwell not best game so far but solid and must be difficult when he has a different player in front of him every week to gain some form of partnership
Negatives
Kante love him but his passing has got worrying bad giving ball away in dangerous areas
Other than Reece James we offered nothing going forward at all
Havertz looked totally lost
Werner was massively isolated and why lump balls up to the smallest player on pitch if you want to play that tactic then play giroud with werner off him
Its plainly obvious our midfield cannot protect a back four but don't offer anything going forward either so hence 3 4 3 formation but it's hard to watch constant going backwards and sideways no penetration in the middle of pitch
There was a lot of times yesterday when there was absolutely no movement off the ball by the whole team at once
Anyway 2 clean sheets this week is a plus.

Imo it's hypocritical to sum up all negatives about the players and exonorate the coach whose tactics have made them look out of sorts. Let's call a spade by its name and acknowledge Frank's shortcomings and plead patience as many have uncharacteristically become so open to. I still know your reactions had it been another coach who had been with us for a season and having spent over 200m on attacking players only to play such uninspiring and bore football. I'm so surprised at the double face and I think most of your blames are misdirected.
We are in a peculiar situation with Frank in that we are not only grooming youth talents to play for us but also our own"homegrown" coach, to manage us. Quite strange. I know it would be great to have a legend in charge but I wouldn't mind a change if it doesn't work and there's nothing yet to say it is going as planned. He's out of his depth and can't consistently get the best of the lads because another good coach will be doing very much better with this team.

Exonerate the coach lol ilo look at my previous posts I wanted him gone weeks ago my friend I have just tried to stay positive and see things differently rather than
Post Frank out he's out of his depth
And all the other negativity that I and others have posted
I loved Frank as a player but he is taking us backwards as a manager For NOW.

Jorginho played well.

It's unfortunate how convenient to play negatives card here. Just have a differing view about their announced and you get tagged negative. Anyway I only support Chelsea and it's success is my Paramount interest. Any obvious shortcomings I will be concerned and I always try to separate sentiments from the reality. Kante like many other players can't suddenly become so bad. I expected that the coach already has a plan for new players but now don't seem to know where they are better played. Player quality have seen us through most time, no remarkable technical input yet.

Kante has played below his usual standard against Sevilla and yesterday. Jorginho played above his usual standard yesterday.

But the bottom-line is that a Kante / Jorginho pivet just doesn't work.

I would sell them both (given Kante's age) and replace them with Rice and Zacharia - I estimate that that would cost net in the region of £30-40m. Unfortunately, the Zacharia ship may have sailed with Real and Bayern both now interested.

The dream-team midfield would be Havertz (Ballack) and Zacharia (Zidane) .

I’m fine with negativity. I’m certainly ok with criticism and I love the banter. I hate abuse of any description but I understand that passion can sometimes overtake common sense.

I think Lamps has deserved criticism on certain occasions and I’ve certainly dished some out.

I, like most posters, respect other people’s opinions and I hope they in turn respect mine.

It’s been a very strange season so far and my guess is results will be all over the place until fans return to stadiums. I love watching football but I’m beginning to get very bored with it in general.

Kate had better pass percentage and more interceptions and covered a lot more ground and same tackle percentage than Jorginho:. And considering Jorginho was playing sideways passing under no pressure when he was deep, back to Tiago silva I’d say he done ok.

Couldn't agree more Tom with your final sentence.

25 Oct 2020 16:05:36
Tom it's worrying when someone just tag ones post negative because it doesn't agree.

25 Oct 2020 16:19:24
Negativity can be food for debate IMO ilo.

8 years i've been using this site and i find the hate kante gets the most baffling thing i've seen on here. he was solid yesterday, what do you want him to do? solo pitch runs with a rabona flick goal finish? THIS isn't FIFA.

sick and tired of reading kante slander on this site. we have bought lots of new players and they're still settling in, yes it wasnt an exciting game but 0-0 at old trafford against any version of united is still a solid result.

25 Oct 2020 17:24:21
bluekaz98, I really haven't read many negative comments about Kante - they are mostly positive. However, he has seemed lost in the last 2 games.

I think it is a credible but not negative debating point to suggest that cashing in on Kante because of his age would be a good move.

25 Oct 2020 18:13:43
How old was Makalele when he was in his pomp?

25 Oct 2020 22:52:21
Oh Tom can't believe your ignoring me your such a tease you old devil.
