If there is one way that we can catch out City is through their left side. They don't have a true left back who is fit right now, with LaPorte playing there against Arsenal.

Laporte is probably the 2nd best defender in the league after Van Dijk. He won’t attack much and he’s a rock defensively. We should have signed him over Rudiger as a LCB I think he’s class. Their right side would be best or centrally.

The weak point is the right side if anything Laporte and Stones are excellent.

Laporte has been class since he arrived so not sure we should be concentrating on him. December 2016, a masterclass of playing on the break - Hazard on fire - 3-1 - that's how we'll win (as long as de Bruyne misses our empty net from a yard out again! ) .

I thought Stones had a good World cup in a more organised team defensively than Citeh.
The style of play Pep demands exposes defenders at times however good they are.
I would take him in a heartbeat as a replacement if Luiz leaves.
{Ed001's Note - sorry mate Stones is just not a good defender, no good comparing international football as it is such a poor level these days even the useless lump Maguire did ok. Pep's style actually does quite the opposite and provides protection in the form of Fernandinho and constant possession of the ball to reduce the amount of times anyone attacks them but still Stones is poor. Better this season than before but still not a good defender at all and has not got the passing range of Luiz.}

Who do you rate as a matter of interest that Chelsea would have a chance of signing to replace Luiz?
I presume you don't rate Christensen?
