I believe part of the issue has been finding a temporary home. I say temporary but it will be for around 3 years as far as I’m aware. I don’t know if Spurs beat us to the punch but we were considering Wembley and there’s no way we’d have both been able to use it at the same time.
Also from what I last read, despite plans having been formalised there were still concerns regarding egress especially relating to building over the train tracks that abut the site.
