I think at CB we need to push hard for John Stones. We can't allow United to get him before we do. He's already one of the best CBs in the league, he's still very young and he's English! Marquinhos would be good nevertheless. I mentioned Kouyate as a good option for CM but I also like Jackson's suggestion of Xhaka.

He always seems to put in a solid yet unspectacular performance whenever I've seen him play for Monchengladbach and Basel. I know the word unspectacular doesn't sound too appealing but it is something I believe we need right now in midfield, stability and no drama (i. e. Magic with his silly 2nd yellow) .

And I agree on Griezman, he's awesome! Btw I don't know about you guys but I can't wait for Courtois to be back. Begovic has been pretty good but I can't help but feel Thiabaut wouldn't have conceded nearly as many goals whilst he'd have also shored the defence up I think. We've conceded far too many headers this season and I think had we had Courtois in goal this wouldn't have happened, he's such a physical presence!

That's a great point about the conceded headers. We've given up a ton this season and I think courtois' best quality is his ability to come for the high ball.

Why is Stones rated so highly on here. Yes he's a good player but he's showed he's still raw with some of his mistakes this season. Marquinhos and Laporte are both experienced and have had a lot of game time for their age and would both be better options I think. I'd personally like Marquinhos as he reminds me a lot of Carvalho.

Marquinhos has been playing CL football as well for a couple of seasons now so he's used to high level football. He'd be a very good addition.
And indeed your point on Courtois is valid. Courtois is exceptional at dominating his area and snuffing out high balls and crosses. Hopefully he can return without much problems in December.

Stones would be my first choice we already have a lack of home grown players plus you don't know would Marquinhos manage in PL. What we need is left back for sure (left footed off course) .

I think with John Stones you have to watch Everton games week in week out to appreciate him fully. Not only is he a fantastic defender, he is a fantastic player with the ball at his feet. He reminds me of a young Rio Ferdinand ability wise (obviously not personality wise) . I can't say I've seen more than a few games of Laporte so I can't comment on him but I think that whilst Marquinhos looks like a very intelligent footballer, I have concerns that he might be a little lightweight for the Premier League. Again though, I haven't seen too much of him myself.
