Was watching the youth cup game against Blackburn and there was some interesting news that Kasey Palmer, Charlie Colkett and Olaoluwa Aina has travelled with the squad for the game against Swansea. Would really like to see the boys get some game time in particular I'd like to see Kasey Palmer.

Come on the blues ⚽️.

I'm very high on Colkett myself. Palmer can be terribly exciting on his game, but Colkett just gets the game. His vision is fantastic. It would be fun to see him get some time on the pitch.
Of course this is all secondary to getting a win. Up the blues!

I like Colkett a lot too, he has a very good footballing brain. I think he could develop into an excellent see lying playmaker. The only downside I see is a resemblance to McEachran, I hope he develops better.

I will disagree with you, Jackson, on one thing though. Personally I'd rather see those names mentioned above play a decent amount of the game than get the result. Both would be amazing but if I had to pick then I'd see the youth put in - nothing to loose and they'll play with freedom.

You'd rather the youths play then get a result?!? Wow. Why not just support the youth team? Surely the main reason you support a club is for them to win? Not to bring youngsters through? If a youth makes it to first team football and stays there, then brilliant. But I'd prefer my team to win games with the best available players rather then set about playing youth players. We are a big club, not some non-league side who bring players on and then sell them to keep afloat. All about winning games and the 3 points.

What are we playing for now? What would 3 points gain us? By what margin could we consider any part of this season as a success in any way, shape or form? An away win at Swansea? No, not for me - that's a result that we won't remember come the start of next season; even if we won 10-0! There's a bigger picture than 3 points away at Swansea, or in the rest of our games, and maybe a 6th place finish rather than 10th.

Of course I want the team to win every game they play! But the successful intergration of youth team players coupled with decent performances from those players, even within a loss to Swansea, would give the club at least one positive in what otherwise has been a throughly disappointing and depressing season - during which our supposedly best team, and players, hasn't got the job done time and time again!

Just answered your own question. We would gain 3 points. I don't see why we still cannot make the Europa's next season. Only 3 points away from Southampton with a game in hand over them too. Too many people care about the youth these days. If they were good enough, they would have been in and around the 1st team picture anyway. Regardless of the season we've had. Don't get the big hype around playing youths. They may play 1-2 games and then be let go and find their proper playing level.

How would a loss to Swansea be positive? Oh what by playing youth players? Ok then.

Who said anything about this season being a success? I certainly didn't. All I want to see is my club win games, points and trophies. Not how many young players we bring through.

I have to agree with Jackson and J. Nothing to play for this season so why not give the youngsters some game time to see if they can play in the premier league.

I'd rather give them game time now instead of them struggle to get minutes next season meaning we could lead to them being sent out on loan and eventually being sold.

We may not remember the result but you'll remember the season we finished below stoke! Would love to finish above Liverpool as well. Like Adam said Europa not out of the question and wouldnot that be a better competitive experience to use youngsters that a few (as you view them) nothing games?

Looking at the lineup we might all be happy by the end of the game.

And yet after the game none will be.
