My dad was playing poker with his friend Victor Becali (Romanian football agent) and also there was Adrian Ilie also an agent now and both have contacts in Spain and were discussing a young Steaua academy player that Barcelona are interested in ATM. Anyway apparently these guys were at a meeting last week and were talking to Jorge Messi for a good hour and he's said that Leo wants out of Spain and out of Barca, not happy with the support Barcelona gave him over the whole tax fraud thing and that since Neymar is there he's getting treated differently. Anyway, they were asking where he was going and who would pay for him, apparently Chelsea have a serious hard on and Abramovich wants him really bad and will pay anything to get him. If this is for real I will actually lose my mind.

There aren't enough 'my best friends brothers mother twice removed knows a doctor who has a cleaner who also cleans for a football agent' rumours knocking around on here any more!

I love these kind of rumours :-P Cheers, dubliner.

We have to think that even Abramovich wants to buy, will Barcelona accept the deal - and how much he will burden our financial status in fhe next 5 or 6 years (remember Torres case - this will be double) .

It would be amazing to have Messi. But there are many things to concern. Not mention he is 29 and his sickness + weight problem.

Where's Mrs Costa for that? Cheers boys but this is actual truth, what the aul lad told me anyway. I doubt it'll happen tbh but Roman will definitely try by the sounds of it.

I don't think Jorge mendes represents messi anyway so I don't know how reliable that is.

Well it's funny you should mention it - while I was showering with Mrs Messi this morning, she did confirm that Lionel and his dad are not best pleased by Barcelona's Corbyn-type effort with their tax 'irregularities' and Lionel would, indeed, be open to a move away.
Lionel and dad are appealing the Court decision on their case and, under the lenient Spanish system, do not face any prison time but will spend their sentence on probation. There are certain stipulations imposed by the Court allowing probation one of which is that, while Lionel can travel abroad at the discretion of the Court, he must remain resident in Spain.
The other avenue, the appeal, will take a minimum of 6 months to hear, probably more. Long story short, neither Lionel Messi nor his father will be joining Chelsea this summer.

I'm told he can travel and move freely if seeking work with the courts authorisation. The court cannot impede his right to work, he would also have the right to deportation with prohibition from entering the country again but that's just silly. I thought that much also Mrs Costa, I don't think he'll be with us anytime soon.
