I went to the match last night. First, you've got to give Roma credit; they have some very good players and can pass the ball around well. They were patient, but were also good at turning the screw and being clinical when they needed to be.

We had short spells where we looked good going forward but I think the counterattacking system Conte played was a double edged sword. We also resorted to a very direct style of playing at times, effectively bypassing our midfielders, hence Fabregas and Bakayoko role's being minimalised. To some degree, this worked. We scored 3 goals. But to give away so much possession is what ultimately led to us conceding (in all aspects of the word) .

As an aside, It's sad to see Ed2 elsewhere on this forum say that the fans have already angered one of young players enough that he wants to leave. That's not true Chelsea. Let's get behind the lads eh?
