Hi Ed read this morning that courtinho of Barcelona is applying for Portuguese citizenship to free up a non EU spot in Barcelona squad and sewerez has done it before as well
Surely FIFA have to look into this loophole just a blatent bending of rules surely.

{Ed001's Note - how can they do anything about it? Are they supposed to change countries eligibility rules?}

What if the club have to stick to nationality of the player for the duration of his original contract
Whether he changes nationality or not
So if he signs a deal for four years as a Brazilian the club have to stick to that for four years
Just an idea FIFA lol.

{Ed001's Note - how is that making any sense? It would be illegal and unenforcable. I really do not see the issue. If you are eligible for a different passport that makes things easier for you to work in the country you are in, why would you not do so? It saves so much hassle if you don't have to apply for visas and work permits every year, you would have to be an idiot not to do so.}

Sorreee I just saw it as a very easy way around Eu numbers in squad by a club
Didn't mean to ruin your porridge ed
I don't know EU laws on work permits so apologies on my part, my had that's me told.

{Ed002's Note - It is of no relevance to English football regardless.}
