United fan here in peace. Just seen you lot are interested in making Felix permanent. Good player but 85 million? Not for me. 60 million would be fair I reckon.

With Nkunku joining you lot as well makes me question whether you'll sign a true number 9. I think Nkunku will be quality behind Enzo but he's not an out and out striker. You definitely need a Ramos, Osimhen type as you've always been best with a powerhouse up top I. e. Drogba, Costa. I think you'll end up going into next season with a fluid three of Nkunku, Havertz, Mudryk, Felix etc. I wouldn't be confident without a true goal scorer though.

Lastly on the Mason Mount contract front. I know he's been poor but he is a quality player don't know how he gets so much stick he's just going through a dip. Trouble with Mount is he's been shoehorned into about 5 different position because of his work rate. He's a true left sided 8. If you play a 3 with Enzo and a 6 Rice type you will reap rewards again.

I thought Rashy was finished but look how he's bounced back. I guarantee mase will do it but you don't want it to be at another club. If he's being greedy with wages then I understand if you parted ways but surely some compromise could be made. He's worth around 120k a week in my eyes.

Shappy, who we sign as a CF will be I interesting and will obviously dictate how we play next season under GP.

I think your club is one of many who may well be looking to sign Mount so I understand your interest.

While he hasn’t played well this season generally I think the majority of fans will be disappointed to see him leave but these things happen in football. I would like to think a compromise can be reached but I’m sure a least one of the clubs interested in (maybe Utd) will come close to meeting his demands.

Shappy always interesting to read/ hear how other fans see your team. Totally agree with you on Mount, and interestingly I was desperate to see United part with Rashford I would have had him at Chelsea in a heartbeat. Yes Chelsea need a goal scorer. However, The football from Chelsea is actually attractive atm, good combinations, and a cleverness which Felix has added. Still a little slow in transition, but with some work should quicken, and the balance of a fit James and Chillwell the switch of play is back. Good to watch. The only thing you haven’t mentioned is the goalie. Others will attack me here, but I’ll tell you straight, Kepa is wretched. Apart from being a poor goalkeeper for this level He is a preening misguided time wasting arrogant so and so, who should have been dumped into a taxi with his still kit on and driven to the nearest airport when he embarrassed Chelsea FC at Wembley. All that said, it is up to Chelsea and your own club to get serious about catching City. It is getting ridiculous, how easy they are winning. Arsenal have caught them out this year, so fair play to them. Arsenal are playing well, they are beating the teams they should beat. But more than anything they are really getting the bounce of the ball this season, 98th minute winners and all

Stephen, I can only assume you live in a perfect world were people don’t make mistakes.

The Kepa incident was a long time ago and he has knuckled down to do his job and win his place back in the first team. I don’t recall him being involved in any other incident while he has been at the club? From the outside he looks like a good professional.

If the club did what you suggest over that “embarrassing” incident we would have been putting some of our legends in a lot of taxis over the years.

Tom, I agree with you about Kepa, I’m not sure what Stephen is suggesting: making Mendy first choice again? That is an even worse option! There may be a case for a new keeper but I don’t see it as a priority. All the best keepers are at top clubs and won’t be going anywhere. So anyone brought in would be a compromise. Let’s hope Slonia turns out to be a top class keeper.
I agree with Shappy about Felix. I wouldn’t be adverse to him staying depending on who goes and the price. I certainly wouldn’t keep him at the expense of a striker or DM.

Spending a reported £80m of felix, when we have nkunku coming doesn’t make a lot of sense for me when striker / GK / DM are needed and lack of champions league football, I thought this new ownership would go down a more data / hidden gem approach, value for money, felix has been very good, but is same mould as havertz / nkunku as in versatile, cf / cam / wide player,

I’m confused Ed? Where is the hate? The abuse? I’m simply saying signing felix for a large fee, like you’ve said many times, significant fee I believe is how you put it, in my opinion is money that could be spent on a profile we don't have rather than a profile of a player we have already and coming in, in the summer, and I’m happy with the signings of young players, wasn’t happy about sterling but I was right it seems as club now see it that way too, and PEA, and even KK so it seems the young signings are fine it’s the older ones that are issue, you make me laugh Ed, it’s a banter and discussion page and you accuse abuse and hate when I give a ratiaonal and explained opinion,

Ridiculous, a club I love and support but every opinion I’ve ever posted on here has been back up with a explanation as to why I think this or that, never have a posted XXXX is crap, and as a fan I have an invested interest and opinion on the ownership and what I think or feel, it’s of course a field I don’t know the knowledge on, on how the inside world of football works but that’s why it’s called an opinion, I have an opinion on felix with 2 players who are very similar and expressed an opinion that the significant fee althletico will demand should go elsewhere, I can’t see why that’s hate filled?

Matt I have to agree that signing a similar player to Nkunku is a bit puzzling unless we are also going to sign a top striker and a DM as well which are clear priorities.
Plus as we speak we still have Mason and Kai.
Then of course the question of formation comes up and whether we would use another second striker on a regular basis.
I guess some of the issues will be resolved in the summer but currently it's a confusing picture.

Stephen, I have no problems with you or anyone else saying Kepa isn’t good enough, that’s just your opinion and your entitled to it.

I do have a problem with you keep going on and on about an issue that happened a long time ago. I also have a problem with how you describe him personally.

He made a mistake, it happens and unless you know him personally can I suggest you just judge him as a footballer.

Antibot I think there’s 3-4 on more than that. Sterling, Kante, KK, I think James is around 200. Obvs Lukaku too. Potentially all of them could be gone in the summer bar James (and Sterling tbf) Kante would probs have reduced terms if he signs an extension. So we’d pretty much make Mount our highest earner.
