How many more players do we think will be sold or leave the club this window.

CG, CHO and Ampadu should be added to that list.

I don’t think TC will be going but I guess that might depend on him and a suitable offer.

I'm not to sure about CG, we have lost a lot of midfielders.
Forgot about CHO as well.

Well done Tom didn't think of ampadu
Ive heard levi wants to talk to the gaffer before he signs a new contract too and I think if cucurella stays then maatson may go as well
Then there is the lukaku situation and also what will happen with dd fofana
this is a major overhaul
I think the owners have done in 1 window what has needed to happen in the last six an overhaul and players out.

Yes we do. need a squad not just first 11 and midfield now looking thin even if MC signs . so CG should stay. May need TC to stay too. I would sell Sterling but his huge wages and fact he's no youngster a problem for any possible purchaser presumably. if he stays we xan only hope he offers more than he did last season in too many games.

Lads, as a silly old fan for some strange reason I have found this window more difficult than any I can remember. Although I did cry when we sold Jimmy Greaves.

I have said for some time that a shake up our squad was needed and I also knew that it was going to be very likely that some of MY favourite players would leave, for me players like Dave and Kante leaving just seems strange.

I agree with so many posters who have expressed satisfaction with the speed our owners have conducted their business and we still have more players to sell than sign.

The management team are going to be very busy and I hope that everything will be in place for the start of our pre-season tour.

There are some obvious candidates who will leave and uncertainty about others: I think for those like CG it will depend on incomings. I don’t think CG is good enough to be a regular starter. As for Lukaku some reports that he will refuse to come back to London. I presume his loan ended on 30th June and he is due back for pre-season at some stage. If a deal to get rid of him isn’t imminent he should be forced to come back and join the boot camp and if he doesn’t he should be fined in accordance with his contract.

We should keep Trev, he’ll inevitably get games.

Next question how many players and what positions do we think we will get for the first team squad.

Gk, 2 MF, a CF but I would add a caveat that all need to be experienced and not youngsters preferably all leaders.

My main concern, based on optimism that the club eventually will qualify for European competition in the not too distant future, is the number pf homegrown and club-trained players. A number of club-trained playershave gone, are going or are being linked with moves away. Perhaps this explains some of the interest in Livramento? Anyhow, we need to be mindful in terms of future planning.

Genuinely astounding that anyone could suggest selling Gallagher at this moment in time. That would leave us with Enzo as our only true senior central midfielder. I think the board/ football directors have come in for more criticism than deserved but this would be mismanagement of the highest order.

Anyone who suggests Casadei or Santos could take his place has clearly either never watched either of them play. At best you could make an argument for Chukwuemeka, but even then you are assuming that a player who couldn't take Gallagher's place in the team last season suddenly overtakes him without playing any football in the meantime.

RBD, prepare to be astounded about CG.

I don’t want him sold but then I haven’t wanted some others sold.

Tom, I'm not astounded that Gallagher is a player who MAY be sold by the club, I've made my peace with that. What I am struggling to comprehend is why any fan would propose selling him right now, given the complete absence of alternatives. If 2 new CMs come in, then sure I could understand the logic, even if I did have some concerns about it. But right now it's just silly.

The same applies to Chalobah. If we sell him now, we'll be in a position in 12 months time where we need to spend a portion of our transfer budget on what will essentially be his replacement, given Silva is due to leave after the coming season. It would be nonsensical to do this for this reason alone, but there is also the fact he is on an 6 year deal with lower wages (reported 50k pw), seems content to not be in the first team every week, and he can cover 3 positions. Added to all of that does anyone seriously think that, on the evidence of last season, the four CBs presumably ahead of him in the pecking order will stay fit all season? Every single one of them missed at least 6 weeks last season with injuries!

RBD, I do agree with your well made point regarding TC.

I think CG has a very high work rate but not a lot else. Of course that work rate lifts the fans and can on occasion lift the team. I’m just not sure that is enough.

Anyway it’s not about what I think it’s up to Poch and the coaches to decide I guess.
