Ed are Everton still interested in Moses? And do Chelsea only want to sell or is loan an option? {Ed018's Note - if a suitable offer comes in I would expect him to be sold}

Alex19

1.) All signed in now.

Ed lots of reports claim that any deal involving Morata would likely mean Real Madrid buying him back and selling him on for much higher fee. I thought the buy back clause meant Juventus just have to accept the bid but can they not just sell him to anyone else for slightly higher than the clause? thanks.

{Ed002's Note - No, that is not how it works.}

A bit disappointed with Izzy Brown going to Vitesse, would have preferred him to have got some experience in English football at say a championship club

Alex19

1.) 12 Jul 2015 20:21:37
Alex Brown loan is a stupid decision. Fully agree with you. This way Brown is not going to be homegrown player. As well as some other youngsters that went abroad on loan.

2.) 12 Jul 2015 20:39:53
Antibot, are you serious? Brown was with West Brom before joining us, of course he's going to be homegrown :-)
And I don't think it's a stupid loan. The Eredivisie is a good league for young players, especially attacking ones.

3.) 12 Jul 2015 21:05:03
Nonsense, no need for him to play with cloggers. He will be much better playing in a more technical league and also playing in the europa

4.) 12 Jul 2015 21:06:31
Of course brown is going to be homegrown. he's English and has played in the youth leagues for years. People's lack of understanding on what classes as homegrown on this site astounds me.

5.) 12 Jul 2015 21:11:22
Think it's a good decision . He will go on loan for one year then depending how he performs, come back and hopefully go on loan with a Premiership club or stay with us ( or team in Germany or Italy ). Think that's the problem, some players make an instant impact and some are late developers. Somehow the decision makers at Chelsea have to get together and decide whether a player will make it at Chelsea,. Traore is obvious but Jose knew that and would have kept him here if he could, but for visa problems.

6.) 12 Jul 2015 21:36:12
To become homegrown player, player has to play for English or Welsh club from age18-21. Brown is now 18 other guys are 18,19 and 20.
So he's not going to become homegrown player.
Traore was at Chelsea from age 15-18 and he qualifies as club grown but not as homegrown player since he played two seasons at Vitesse.

7.) 12 Jul 2015 21:38:36
And guys read the bloody rules what qualifies player as homegrown and what doesn't.

8.) 12 Jul 2015 22:15:59
Antibot, I don't mean to be insulting, but Brown will most definitely be homegrown.

9.) 12 Jul 2015 22:21:40
I believe this is correct but to be classed as homegrown a player has to be registered with a English or Welsh football club for 3 years before they turn 21. A player that was at the club between 15 to 18 or 18 to 21 would be homegrown. I'm sure this is correct.

10.) 12 Jul 2015 23:57:41
I'm pretty sure Traore only joined a year and a half ago when he turned 18. Before that he had been with us on the pre-season tour to Asia, but that was only on trial.

11.) 13 Jul 2015 08:13:18
Brown is association trained, he didn't come from abroad he was at West Brom

12.) 13 Jul 2015 08:15:30
It's not 3 years between 18 and 21 it's 3 years prior to being 21. not sure where some of you get your info

13.) 13 Jul 2015 09:12:12
Bluecon what you wrote is correct. Actually you've just confirmed what I've previously said. There are club grown and home grown players. The group from 15-18 is a club grown but those players have to play at the same club. Brown joined Chelsea when he was 16 from WBA. So this rule doesn't imply for him.
Courtois joined Chelsea when he was 18 but he spent 3years on loan abroad(A.Madrid) and he isn't considered to be homegrown. There is player at Spurs who is English and when he joined Spurs he was 20 years old but he's also not homegrown since until age of 20 he played in Portugal.
Pogba is club grown player for MU but to become homegrown he would have to face FA committee with big question mark what would be final decision about his homegrown status.
UEFA and FA rules are very strict.

14.) 13 Jul 2015 10:47:31
They do not need to be in same club. just association trained. Go look the rules up ffs

{Ed018's Note - Brown will be considered homegrown}

15.) 13 jul 2015 14:50:47
my bad izzy brown will be homegrown player by any rules new ones or previous ones.

Mn, it has nothing to do with his defensive duties; the point is that when he gets in and around the box, he tends to release a rather tame shot

Alex19

1.) (Meant to be a reply to an earlier post about fabregas, not a personal attack hah)

2.) Agreed Alex.

Who do you guys think should start next to Matic on saturday?

Personally I would like to see us try dropping Oscar back in there, probably with Schurrle Hazard and Willian behind the striker. Mikel worked well next to Matic but really don't think we need both of them for Hull at home.

Alex19

1.) If you ask me who I WANT to see, then I'd say RLC hahah :) not because I think he's the best option because obviously he's not. I just really really like him.
Being realistic I'd say Mikel, but he'd have to play a little adventurous like he did against Sporting. We need some creativity from deep. And with both Mikel and Matic in there, perhaps the attacking midfielders would have more freedom and could focus more on attacking.
I don't want Oscar to play deeper tbh.

2.) 11 Dec 2014 20:16:33
I would play Mikel, they worked well against Sporting and it also gives Matic more freedom to make runs forward Toure-esque.

3.) Oscar. And we should play with two strikes.

4.) If he was fit, Baker. similar skillset to Fabregas and probably the best set piece taker we have. As it is, I think Ramires will play.

5.) 11 Dec 2014 23:29:34
Ideally I'd also love to see Baker given a go in this kind of game when we don't have Fabregas but can't see it happening

6.) Definetely Mikel.

Anyone have any clue how Oriol Romeu is doing at Valencia? Haven't really seen him/them this season.

Ive thought this before, he might not be amazing defence wise but I think he could offer more than ramires especially in attacking and breaking forward

I don't think you can properly judge Baba unless he gets a proper run in the team, which it looks like he might do for a bit.

They don't give exact dates, that just means he should be available for the game on the 12th

I think this could be part of the problem as well as the abuse to be honest. We've had this problem on this page before over the years, ed002 gives us some information but instead of being grateful we often pester for more information. Not having a go at anyone but having been a mostly silent observer on this page for quite a while it's a trend that seems to occur most transfer windows

i wouldn't regard this as one of our biggest concerns. If you look at last season, city won the league with Aguero playing 23 times in the league, scoring 17 (so a similar strike rate to Costa this season). On top of this I'd say Mourinho persisting to play Drogba when Remy was fit was a problem for us. Aguero might not have played much last year but they had players like negrado (in the first half of the season) yaya toure and dzeko chipping in with a significant amount of goals. I think this just emphasises our need for another goalscoring winger/attacking mid such as Griezmann, if we are going to persist with one up front as well more goals from elsewhere (Willian Fabregas Oscar etc)
