Chelsea will sack under-pressure manager Jose Mourinho, 52, if there is evidence of the club's fans turning against him. (Daily Star)

Anyone else feel that the media are trying to get Jose the sack in order to sell papers?

Blue is the colour

1.) 03 Nov 2015 08:25:50
What I've been saying all along. This is what the English media are all about. People start doing well in any walk of life and they try to find dirt or bring them down. Why I don't know, but I do know it ruins lives. Jose has had lots to deal with OUTSIDE football, yet the press don't give a toss about that.

2.) 03 Nov 2015 09:27:47
If he gets sacked, and I hope he doesn't, the press will then move on to their next victim. I just hope the fans at the game on Wednesday make their support for Jose loud and clear to RA and the board.

3.) 03 Nov 2015 09:46:13
The media will lead to him being sacked and then complain the competition isn't good enough when we don't do well at the euro's or lose our 4th CL spot. Basically they want constant turmoil to sell papers.

If we all didn't buy papers then this wouldn't happen!

4.) 03 Nov 2015 10:28:21
After the JT/bridge crap I haven't bought another paper!

5.) 03 Nov 2015 14:08:38
The papers are so biased towards certain clubs. John Cross at The Mirror is the enemy of Chelsea Football Club as are the Daily Mail and Star. Jose, given time, will turn this around.

6.) 03 Nov 2015 16:15:13
They've sold their souls so they can get people to buy their "work. " And this isn't limited to just the U. K. Media, the practice is alive and well in the states.

7.) 03 Nov 2015 19:36:06
The media are low lives!

Hey Ed, I've seen a rumour that Chelsea are interested in Paco Alcacer. Is there any truth to it mate? He is progressing well at Valencia and would be a quality addition in the summer if Falcao doesn't come good. Also are we seeking to bring in a new RB? As this really has been our achillies heal for a while now. Thanks.

Blue is the colour

{Ed002's Note - Interest from both Arsenal and Chelsea in Paco Alcácer faded a while back when he signed an extention with Valencia. A number of clubs continue to monitor him through the scouting network, including Chelsea and Arsenal.}

1.) 18 Oct 2015 18:38:27
Thanks for the swift reply mate.

Afternoon all, can anyone shed any light on possible outgoings? Mikel, Moses, Remy? All of which now seemingly have little part to play at the club. What about Piazon? Everything regarding him has gone quiet.

Blue is the colour

1.) 30 Aug 2015 17:23:22
I heard from ED002 the other day saying that CFC still want to sign 2/3 players and spoke to someone on Thursday about a player. He did tell Ed018 that and this could be the info that he has already passed on. Personally cannot see us signing anyone else. Hoping I'm wrong!

2.) 30 Aug 2015 18:37:30
Some rumours and reports about Laporte and Nkoulou today. Both CBs. Might be something to it.
I'd be over the moon if Laporte joined us.

{Ed018's Note - doesn't sound like there is any interest in Laporte from Chelsea. There was a bid for Marquinhos rejected}

3.) 30 Aug 2015 19:01:40
We seem to be linked to everyone in the last few days. At the end of the day teams do not want to sell their best players. If Chelsea want their top targets then they need to pay over the odds or make do with what we have. Either get stones or varane or make do with Ivan, terry,Cahill and zouma. We don't want any panic buys like salah or cuadrado.

4.) 30 Aug 2015 19:14:36
If we sign anyone of course they will be panic buys. We've left it too late to sign our top targets!

5.) 30 Aug 2015 19:18:09
Agreed NW, Ed is there any info on outgoings? Thanks

{Ed018's Note - I don't have any info right now. I'll ask tomorrow}

6.) 30 Aug 2015 19:32:40
Chalobah's apparently off to Napoli on loan. Another poor decision don't see him playing there

7.) 30 Aug 2015 21:24:55
Damn, thanks for the reply, Ed018. Really don't get why we're not in for Laporte, he's immense and destined for the top. Much more so than Stones IMO and I'm not the only one that thinks that way.
Marquinhos couldn't possibly join. I don't see why PSG would sell, though he's very good. Frustrating situation regarding the CB position right now.

{Ed018's Note - PSG do not wish to sell}

8.) 30 Aug 2015 21:31:03
Moses to westham on Loan breaking on ssn just now.

9.) 30 Aug 2015 22:32:04
Do you think anyone will come in Ed018?

{Ed018's Note - I think so.}

10.) 30 Aug 2015 22:39:53
We've pulled out some nice deadline day transfers in the past, and our board always seems to get the man they want if the go for it. So I have hope.

CHELSEA STAR IS JUVE BOUND

Juventus are on the verge of signing Chelsea midfielder Ramires, according to reports in Corriere dello Sport.

Pls be true

Blue is the colour

1.) 12 Aug 2015 12:42:06
That will mean he will have to be replaced God only knows who they will replace him with hopefully not another Salah or cuadrado panic buys

2.) 12 Aug 2015 13:24:55
Jose has said that new players will only come in if players leave - I wonder who he has in mind to replace Ramires?

3.) 12 Aug 2015 14:21:37
Would be nice to get pogba for rami plus cash but we can all dream

4.) 12 Aug 2015 14:42:51
Get rid of mikel Ramires and cuadrado. Replace pogba, griezman. Play loftus cheek more

5.) 12 Aug 2015 16:28:11
Don't think it's going to happen. Sadly though as I don't feel he's good enough anymore to be in the rotation.

08 Aug 2015 12:48:08
Morning Ed, would we be interested in signing Alan Creswell from West Ham. Top left back and British too! Thanks

{Ed018's Note - I don't think so anymore}

Who do you guys think will leave this window?

I think from last seasons first team squad, possibly Pedro, Oscar, Remy and Mikel.

With the change to formation and in comings, Hazzard, Cesc and RLC will take on the cam role. Hopefully Kante, Cesc and Matic can take up the 2 CM/ CDM positions. Will the edition of a new striker it would leave us with 3 CF plus Traore as our 2 up front. I think our defence is sorted for WB's as the current crop seem to be better suited to that role. It just leaves a new CB to be acquired. I feel a swap of Cahill plus some wedge for Stones. Would be good business. Like what has been said about Ivan, I think he is potentially in his last season. But playing in a back 3 May just suit him, compared to forcing him to play RB.
Lastly, how would folks feel if we was to test Swansea's resolve over Williams? I know he is 32, but if we need a new leader, he could be a good stop cap.
Thanks for reading. And thanks to the Eds for all their hard work 👍.

Blue is the colour

1.) 10 Jul 2016 19:40:34
Cuadrado, maybe Mikel, maybe Pedro and maybe Oscar.

2.) 10 Jul 2016 19:47:06
We need someone good on the ball in a back three if that's the way Conte intends to go so it's got to be either Koulibaly or the unlikely Bonucci.

Kante's is everyone's choice I think for centre midfield were desperately lacking pace there and solidity and he can provide that. I got criticised on here before for saying I don't rate Cesc but I don't care yes he has a fantastic passing ability but he's way too slow and when his passing a not on form it's like playing with ten men. I've never been Oscar's biggest fan but I think he could do well for Conte in a two man midfield as he has a great work rate and can tackle. If we're going 3-4-1-2 I'd be happy to see either of the two central midfield positions taken by either Kante, Matic, RLC and Oscar.

In terms of outgoings mine would be:

Ivanovic. Mikel, Moses, Marin, Van Ginkel, Fabregas (probably get slaughtered just my own personal opinion), Cuadrado, Salah, Bamford, Remy.

3.) 10 Jul 2016 20:54:51
Conte plays with only one CDM and 2 CMs, so it's not 3412 but 3142 with 6 players pressing high opposition.

4.) 11 Jul 2016 00:32:23
I hope conte uses the formation that he's used with Italy and juve. Sadly in a 3 at the back I don't see a place for JT. Ivanovic and zouma plus a new signing, Cahill for me had a poor euros and a poor season. I don't think I would be too bothered if matic stayed or left the club. Oscar has promised so much, yet delivered so little, so he would be one I would look to sell. Cesc is a tricky one as he is a great player but only suits certain formations. He's not going to be box to box, but I think contes way of playing will suit him. So my outs would be: Oscar, Moses, Marin, remy, van ginkel, cuadrado and possibly matic.
Ins: morata, perisic, kante and one of ( koulibaly, varane, stones)

13 Mar 2016 09:25:39
After giving myself the night to reflect, I think we're in a bad place at the moment. What we really need is a clear out of some of the playing staff. Just like Sphurs have done, get rid of players who don't want to fight for the team and care only of their pay packet. If Conte comes in, give him the funds to develop his own team. He is a manager on the rise, so let's see what he can do.
For me the players I would like to see go are:
Oscar: doesn't give enough, yesterday he was partly to blame for the first goal. Lost the ball in the Everton half and then proceeded to walk back. To many times he has done this now, just not good enough for an experienced international (heart not in it) .
Hazard: on his day he is unplayable, this season though he has shown his true colours. Instead of kicking on from last season he has rested on his lorals and gone backwards. Sorry but that's not good enough for a club that's has ambitions of being the best in Europe. If Real come knocking in the summer we should snap their hand off.
Matic: lossed form early on and doesn't look like getting it back any time soon. Sell him while he is worth something still.

If we're going to play 3-5-2 next season what we need is another top quality CM. A world class CB, that being said I would love for us to sign Stones and keep JT. Used sparingly next season I think he would be quality for the new manager as he is a winner and would be a fantastic asset in the dressing room. Plus it would be good to see 3 English CB's. Finally we need a new ST to play alongside Costa, I think part of his attitude is down to frustration. Get someone in there to take the pressure off of him and allow him to do his thing. Remy is shocking and should go this summer. Traore is a promising talent but is still a touch inexperienced. I would love to see us go for Cavani if he is available this summer. I know he is 29 and will have a huge price tag, but alongside Costa he would be deadly. Both great finishers with great vision, so the would compliment each other terrifically. That being said I reiterate my first point, let the new guy get they players he wants! Then we can truely judge him.

Sorry to rant, but it's been a long stressful season, hopefully the next one will be one to remember in our last season at the bridge.

1.) 13 Mar 2016 10:07:59
I had a long night yesterday thinking what went wrong this season. Here are my thoughts

Our midfield is easily overrun exposing our defence way too often. Matic going out of form and Mikel being very slow doesn't help. Terry is still great but has limitations. Brana and Cahill are just back up's not great CB's. Upfront we have lost a lot with hazard, Oscar, costa, fab losing form and more importantly no goals from remy who was a super sub last year. Considering these I think following changes helps.
CB - sell ivanovic, Cahill and buy marquinhos
DM - sell Mikel and matic. Buy xhaka/ nainggolan and diawara
CM - sell fab as he is always a liability in big games. Buy one of. matuidi/ gomes/ kroos
AM - sell Oscar and Pedro. Buy goetze and James Rodriguez. Sell hazard only if possibility to get greizmann.
CF - sell remy, falcao, pato. Sell costa only if part of greizmann deal. Buy lukaku and icardi.

My view is above are achievable targets for a club like Chelsea.

Loan call back - Christensen, Ake, van ginkel

These changes gives us a team strong at back with Pace, midfield capable of holding its line and moving the ball forward and a forward line which has strength and agility needes to win games.

Your thoughts my fellow Chelsea mates.

2.) 13 Mar 2016 10:14:43
You are correct and sadly a much needed clear out usually brings with it a so so following season as players get used to playing together and a new managers tactics. I believe players gravitated to Chelsea because of Mourinho, whether Conte will have that drawing power remains to be seen but another problem will be 'who we can attract at a sensible price' because any advertised budget, fact or fiction, will see asking prices rocket. Costa will not be with us next year and I for one will not miss him. For two or three years I would take Cavani as he has two good feet and can head the ball; there will be little resale value so we would need a sensible buying price. For me Oscar, Hazard, Costa, Pedro, Rahman, Mikel need moving on with Matic's decline a real cause for concern although nobody has covered themselves with glory other than Willian's improvement although he should score more. From now on in we will be limping to the line as an average team and the summer months will see this banter page on fire I am sure!

3.) 13 Mar 2016 11:47:31
Trouble is Indian blue as I said in earlier post. We need to be setting realistic targets for players not your pogba, griezzman or icardi. They all want champions league football. We need to identify 21-24 year olds and bed them in amongst our own young players. Then build for the future. We need to try players and build them into the team instead of trying to buy finished article. And most important get rid of dead wood and do our buying early, so we are set for the start of the season.
As an aside I think we give jt one more year and get him onto coaching staff to help defence.

4.) 13 Mar 2016 15:17:23
The main problem as u said is we won't attract big players now unfortunately over this season but let's see who conte can bring in and let's see him get the full backing to clear out the squad if he wants and bring in players he feels could improve us.

21 Jan 2016 15:24:35
I think we should put an offer in for Rubén Neves from FCP. A young CM with bags of potential, play him for the rest of the season so he hits the ground running in the summer. Alongside RLC could be an outstanding partnership.

Now that top four looks increasingly unlikely, I would love to see Kenedy and RLC get a run in the team. Kenedy and Willian on the flanks with Cesc in between them. Mikel and RLC as the CM pairing. Also we have to make a silly offer for Stones, he will cost ludicrous money in the summer! Get him now so he can get used to playing with Zouma.
bad season, may as well start regrouping for next season now! Although the champions league is still on haha!

Why are you all so hung up on stones, Christensen should be brought back I say.

2.) 17 Jan 2016 08:54:17
Good point ELI, he can be every bit as good as Stones. Also, Cesc is not a number 10. That was all too evident yesterday, he needs to sit deep and dictate the play just as he did when he dropped back yesterday and as he did to good effect last season. Oscar or RLC as the 10 with Cesc behind alongside Charlie Colkett or Mikel. Willian and Hazard/ Kenedy out wide. Aina in for Branna. Traore scored loads last season up front for vitesse when he converted from the 7 to 9. Would be a good back up to Costa and Remy.

£50m you're having a laugh buddy. I think £30m plus Moses! You can't say Luiz is the same value as Stones! Two completely different players. What Luiz lacks in quality he makes up for with experience at both club and international level.

I agree about Willian not being a goal scorer and also think he would be great on the right of a 3 man midfield. I can't see it happening though as Jose seems to like the 2 holding players.

At the risk of getting slaughtered, I would prefer to give RLC some game time next to Matic and if things don't work out by January sign W.Carvello from sporting once he has got over his injury. We could effectively afford to sell Mikel and not replace him as we have a number of players who can play in CM: Cesc, Matic, Rami, Oscar and RLC. Wish we would be more adventurous and try RLC or Oscar in that role, push Cesc further forward and have more of a go at teams.
Also if this doesn't change how would people react to seeing Hazzard playing in the number 10 role and having Pedro and Willian on the wings? I think it would work a treat as he would give CB a nightmare forcing wingback stop push in and give to give them cover, freeing up space on the wings to attack down. Just a thought.

Christiansen is on a 2 year loan deal, for his development it would be best to keep him there. Get Laporte in for next season. Him and Zouma could be great together, then Christiansen can come back with 2 seasons of league and European football under his belt.

Would like to see Ronald Koeman brought in, could be great at a bigger club and already knows the league. Plus good with younger players (RLC, Traore and Kenedy) .

Players would be Laporte, Neves or veratti and Lukaku.

Fans with very short memories asking for Jose to go. Best manager we've ever had, and we was all over the moon when he game back. 10 league games after winning is the title and you'd think Jose had rocked up to a game in a Sphurs shirt or something. He is the most successful manager in modern football and he is our manager. Cut the guy some slack and support him like real fans should!
