Chelsea make late bid to hijack Sanchez move to united.

Loads of rumours suddenly flying around that we could sign Sanchez under United's noses.

Not sure if to believe it or not, but let's hope it's true as our team needs something new in attack and Sanchez would certainly add spark, tenacity and most importantly GOALS!

1.) 15 Jan 2018 21:46:05
It looks like Sanchez wants to remain in London. That means one choice.

2.) 15 Jan 2018 21:55:57
The only stumbling block I see will be his weekly wage.

3.) 15 Jan 2018 22:00:03
Hint: Don’t get too excited, we’ll end up with Albrighton and Carroll in a 50 million double deal.

4.) 15 Jan 2018 22:01:40
All journalists linked to chelsea in anyway are saying they’ve heard nothing and not sure where rumour is from and questioning if true why so late.

5.) 15 Jan 2018 22:05:41
Lol guys they are playing with us. The media are having fun and trying to increase costs and get the whole country attention.

Think for a minute. When has Chelsea ever paid over the odds for a 29 year? Lol.

6.) 15 Jan 2018 22:18:18
CFCShak, Shevchenko.

7.) 15 Jan 2018 22:25:45
I heard luke Chadwick.

8.) 15 Jan 2018 22:32:48
Bobby. them were the good old days of 2006. Things have changed drastically since then mate. Football has changed drastically since then. Chelsea have changed with their transfer strategy and Shevchenko was not getting anywhere near what Sanchez is demanding right now.

Don't get me wrong i would love Sanchez. But this will be a Lukaku scenario and don't forget it is not clear whether Chelsea were even after Lukaku or not. But we got blasted by the media for letting Lukaku go. If we miss out on Sanchez, watch the same stories circulate of how we let this slip, how we got rejected etc.

9.) 15 Jan 2018 22:53:59
CFCShak, I agree with what you say about how our transfer strategy etc has changed. The last what I'd call big move we made was Torres (obviously Morata cost more but he's not such a big name and today's market has just gone crazy) .

Over the next few windows I feel we really need to make a few top quality signings (not potential but already proven quality) . Because if we don't City, United and even Liverpool to a lesser extent are going to pull away from us.

Like you.

10.) 15 Jan 2018 23:34:17
I agree with you Bobby, Torres was the last big one. Maybe that failed transfer changed our stragey. But I agree we need proven quality. Teams around us seem to be getting proven quality and it is clear we are being overtaken.

I would love for Sanchez to happen, it would really be a boost and transfers like this would get hazard etc to extend contracts. But it seems unlikely.

11.) 16 Jan 2018 07:04:05
I would love to think Chelsea are targeting someone like Sanchez and pray that the Carroll talk is just smoking mirrors, because I don’t think anyone of us wants to see him pull on the shirt.

03 Jan 2018 13:05:08
Ed's, is there any truth to all these Vidal rumours? Lots of reports that we've apparently made an offer to Bayern.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, I am still trying to catch up on what's going on after a couple of weeks off. Bayern were certainly open to selling him and he would be a fantastic signing for you though.}

1.) 03 Jan 2018 15:34:46
Thanks for the reply Ed001!

I think he would be a brilliant signing as well. Here's hoping :)

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

29 Aug 2017 17:23:11
Kylian Hazard signs!

Chelsea have signed Edens younger brother Kylian (22) and he goes straight into the development squad.

1.) 29 Aug 2017 18:08:39
Pretty old for the development squad, no?

2.) 29 Aug 2017 18:38:26
probably just to get him to england and for profit.

3.) 29 Aug 2017 18:48:24
As was Hector at the time. If the club see a potential for profit, then it doesn't matter the are, especially if said player hasn't kick-started their career yet.

28 Aug 2017 17:21:59
Jeremie Boga loaned out to Birmingham, I guess that makes sense with ox coming in. But I would have liked to have seen Boga get a few chances this season. Hopefully Musonda stays.

1.) 28 Aug 2017 17:37:51
Good player for the future. Its better he goes on loan for his own development. I don't see him picking a shirt in that Chelsea; atleast not for now.

23 Aug 2017 08:39:57
Today's rumours are ridiculous!

Tuchel to replace Conte. Seriously?

Just when things seem rosier that bombshell drops. I don't believe it one little bit, but with our board you just never know. I'd honestly be devasted if Conte was to leave.

1.) 23 Aug 2017 10:04:13
would be an absolute joke if they was to get rid of CONTE. i don't believe it one bit too.

2.) 23 Aug 2017 10:13:02
With just a week to go in the window, these type of rumours are not exactly going to attract and or make it easier to sign players. Especially not even knowing if Conte will be their manager when they get here.

I think the Tuchel rumours are bs, but It doesn't help us transfer wise with these kind of rumours circulating.

3.) 23 Aug 2017 10:16:43
In the same sentence you wrote
"I don't believe it one bit but you never know" that's suggests you're at least a bit worried about it.

Its bs, don't even give it a second thought. Remember not too long ago the media were trying to sell him to INter Milan.

4.) 23 Aug 2017 10:19:38
paper talk like this. i believe is when the club should step in and release a statement.

5.) 23 Aug 2017 10:40:12
If this happens I am changing clubs.

6.) 23 Aug 2017 10:40:43
what a load of codswallop.

7.) 23 Aug 2017 11:30:26
I've put my full response to this story on the banter site.
I do understand why our club rarely make statements about unsubstantiated press stories but given the timing and how important Conte is to the club and the vast majority of Chelsea fans I think the club MUST come out with a response asap.

8.) 23 Aug 2017 11:39:11
Morata9. Well it's true, you just never know with our club and sacking managers. It's happened enough times before, whether that be Mourinho, Ancelotti and so on.

9.) 23 Aug 2017 12:42:07
Didn't conte already say he wanted to stay at Chelsea and help them into a new Stamford bridge - that's ears away.

10.) 23 Aug 2017 16:57:12
Letting Conte go would be worse than letting Mourinho go in his first spell. Conte is something completely different to previous Chelsea managers, although he wasn't given backup from board like others especially Mourinho(first spell).
Losing Conte would be much more than losing the world class manager.

11.) 23 Aug 2017 18:33:32
Please let's not get into even giving this rubbish air time.
It's the papers we lose to burnley, the team have turned against the manager blah, blah, blah. We win and the team are playing for the manager but the board are against the manager blah blah blah.
Let's just get on with important things like signing another three players and forget this BS.

Guys, it's written in the stars that Crouch is going to join us. Then he's going to come on in the 90th minute away against Barca, and score the header of all headers to send us through to the next round!

He's then going to single handedly win us the Champions League final, before busting out the Robot celebration one last time before retiring at the end of the season!

You couldn't make this stuff up, it's what dreams are made of!

1.) 18 Jan 2018 23:13:58
I bet azpi supplies the cross now that would be a total shock.

17 Jan 2018 22:57:11
All I can say is wtf did I just watch. Lol.

16 Jan 2018 13:21:57
Whether we like it or not, it looks like we are genuinely making a move for Andy Carroll.

I'd much have preferred us to have made a move for Vardy, simply because he offers something completely different to what we already have.

Carroll is an Injury prone, one dimensional player, capable of a few good games a season.

Obviously if we do complete the signing I'll be fully behind Carroll, as with any player we sign.

Our standards have seriously dropped in the past few years though. A few years ago we would have laughed if we knew our team would include Carroll and Drinkwater (with all due respect to those players) .

Lets just hope we can manage a top four finish this season, otherwise Hazard and Courtois could well both be off in the summer.

With all that being said, we still have a very good young squad (Musonda, Christensen, Ampadu to name but a few)

So the future is not all doom and gloom, and as we all know big names do not always mean success.

So let's all get behind the team for the rest of the season, because you just never know what can happen in football. C'mon Chelsea!

1.) 16 Jan 2018 15:23:12
Tbh I have been hearing musonda hype for so long now. He has to first be given a chance before he retires lol.

2.) 16 Jan 2018 15:38:10
It wasn't too long ago that Mourinho's summer signings included Steve Sidwell, Tal Ben Haim and Claudio Pizarro (2007), and we signed Michael Hector, Papy Djilobodji and Matt Miazga in 2016. The point I'm making is that this is nothing new - we really need to sort out our transfer policy.

3.) 16 Jan 2018 21:08:53
I know it's not ideal, but if we're raiding west ham, I'd go for Hernandez over Carroll.

05 Jan 2018 19:47:00
Admittedly I've never been a huge fan of Barkeley. But for 15m it's a very good deal in today's crazy market, he's still very young and could learn a lot playing alongside Fabregas etc.

I think it'll take him a while to find his feet though, especially after his long injury lay off. So we shouldn't judge him on the remainder of this season, next season will show if he's got what it takes and I'll be fully behind him now he's at CFC.

1.) 05 Jan 2018 20:57:33
for 15 millions its not even a gamble let's be honest we paid 40 for bakayoko and he's hopeless.

2.) 05 Jan 2018 21:27:08
Baka isn’t hopeless he is just adapting, give the boy time he is only young, let’s be honest does seem as he is getting much tactical help on the pitch from senior players, Jesus some people I just don’t think are fans of our players and club.

3.) 05 Jan 2018 23:52:28
I have a good feeling that once Bakayoko adapts to both Chelsea's way of playing and the Premier League in general, we could see Essien Mk. II.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 07:00:34
Baka will improve massively in the next six months.

Chelsea fans are letting themselves down with their criticism of him.

5.) 06 Jan 2018 08:25:29
i think for d money he cost u expect that bit more i do hope he turns out to be a good player of course.

02 Jan 2018 10:44:09
Anyone else quite excited about us being linked to Vidal?

I know he's 31 or so now, but this guy next to Kante in midfield would be amazing. He's the type of player we currently do not have. He's box to box, can defend and get amongst the goals at the other end. He's also a leader on the pitch and something we could do with in the middle of the pitch.

Would be a suberb signing in my opinion and Conte clearly loves him as a player from their time together at Juventus. Your thoughts guys?

1.) 02 Jan 2018 11:47:13
Cannot see it happening buddy.

2.) 02 Jan 2018 13:19:48
Nathswindon, If not this month I certainly wouldn't rule us out of making a move for Vidal in the summer.

3.) 02 Jan 2018 13:26:36
Can’t get excited about a 31yr old TBH, any injuries are always longer lay off and his best years are behind him, plus the fee and high wages. short term solution at best,

4.) 02 Jan 2018 13:53:57
He's 31 in May but so is Bonucci and Nainggolan is 30 all wanted by others on here at different times. Providing he is injury free he could be a bit of stabilising experience we need if we could pick him up for a sensible price.

5.) 02 Jan 2018 12:48:28
RLC, Kante and Vidal would be one heck of a midfield.

6.) 02 Jan 2018 14:55:44
Suprising to see soo many Chelsea fans against this move. Seems to be because of his age but they don't seem to realise we got the likes of Makelele, Ballack, Anelka and Deco when they were in their 30's or getting there. How getting one of the best box to box cm's in the world to possibly play beside Kante and Fab doesn't excite some fans is staggering. But hey everybody can have a different preference i suppose.

7.) 03 Jan 2018 12:14:39
I like that Vidal has a bit of nastiness to his game.

Not afraid to get a yellow card and is a player that wants to win.

At 30/ 31, he's not exactly at the very tail end of his career and coming from a league that isn't amazingly taxi in regards to opponents of Bayern. I see very little down side to this.

Conte isn't the problem, it's the players. We've seen it with countless managers we've had before, the players just stop playing.

Conte is the best thing that has happened to us and it would be foolish to want him to leave (although we all know he will undoubtedly leave at the end of the season unfortunately)

Agree with everything you just said JBS. Last night felt more like a defeat than a draw, with the chances we missed and Arsenal's late equaliser.

But on your last point on Bakayoko, and I know I keep raving about Vidal. But if we could sign Vidal, he would be perfect in our midfield next to Kante. For one Vidal would add goals from midfield, I know people say he's too old blah blah blah. But he could be a great player for us for a couple of seasons. He would offer so much more to what we currently have.

Miss Darren Wood, I'd hardy call Hazard's performance at Bournemouth as a masterclass. Even his goal should arguably have been saved. Bournemouth gave Eden space to look good. Hazard has shown us glimpses of what he can do this season, but nothing more.
