Ed it looks as if City are preparing a bid for Pogba. I read that Chelsea have been in conversation with Juve over a possible deal. Is this true and do you have any more information on him? Thanks.

Chelsea_brett

{Ed002's Note - For the right price, the right package and for the right destination, Paul Pogba will leave Juventus this summer. A number of clubs have considered Pogba and I will try and explain where each stands.

PSG are desparate to sign a high-end French player to placate the fans. They have put an offer on the table to Juventus but it was not acceptable as it included Verratti and Cavani - but Juve are looking to a deal they can control (but they may still take Verrati as a separate deal). PSG are in a difficult situation with UEFA and subject to financial sanctions but may well try to sell to raise the funds to return for Pogba or again offer players in exchange. Even then a ripple effect and the sanctions could cause them further issues. And regardless of that, there are other FFF limitations that could still potentially cause them a problem.

Manchester United would have liked to strike a deal but I suspect the chances of a move is near zero and they are probably right out of the picture - likely knowing it would never have happened in any case.

Manchester City are planning on making quite a number of changes this summer and are looking to negotiate with UEFA over some restrictions which will limit what they can do. Whilst they have enquired after Pogba they are far from an attractive option for the player. And like PSG, Manchester City remain in a difficult situation with UEFA and subject to financial sanctions but both may well try to sell to raise the funds for Pogba or offer players in exchange. Even then a ripple effect and the sanctions could cause them further issues. However, financially Manchester City are likely to be willing to pay close to the asking price and to offer him the best package.

Chelsea remain keen on Paul Pogba, would like to strike a deal for the summer and have had a number of conversations with the concerned parties to see what can be done. Financially Chelsea are in a position to make something happen but they will not be held to ransom. They are aware it would be very difficult and do have alternatives in mind.

Although Real Madrid moved on from their previous interest, there is every chance still of a summer offer including players in part exchange. I very much suspect Real Madrid could still become a player in this saga.

Although Barcelona are constrained before 2016 they will go all out to strike a deal now for next year as their rebuilding begins - which may mean committing to waiting until January with the rest of the season on loan, which will suit Barcelona, but not necessarily Juventus who, if they sell, will need the money. Barcelona will be strong financially and will look to sell one or two high-value players to help fund the rebuild - and they very much want Pogba to be at the centre of that.}

I don't think we should hold our breath, guys. I doubt the club would pay the money necessary to get him, especially when Barcelona and Madrid are involved.
Only problem is that most of the bigger name alternatives are looking unlikely as well. I really hope the club can strengthen central midfield over the summer.

2.) 12 Jun 2015 16:59:01
Thanks for that Ed, appreciate the hard work!
I will be trying not to get my hopes up but I would love player of that class at the Bridge.
Will be interesting to see what alternative Jose brings in.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained that Allan is the player Chelsea are looking to right now.}

3.) 12 Jun 2015 17:59:08
If we are looking at Allan at the moment, is his move to Inter off? I remember that you said that any move to Chelsea was unlikely. Would love to have him here.

{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement with Inter at this time. Chelsea are also interested.}

4.) 12 Jun 2015 18:41:18
About Allan, in 28 May you said a move to Chelsea seems unlikely, something has changed?
I also see Udinese's CEO saying Allan is pushing for a move to Inter,

{Ed002's Note - I regret telling you that Chelsea are interested. I am well aware of the involvement of Inter. From now on I will try and avoid telling you such things.}

5.) 12 Jun 2015 21:41:56
Thanks Ed.
and are Juve interested in Oscar?

6.) 13 Jun 2015 10:19:33
Themeanius, Ed has told us that Oscar is of interest to Juve. I don't think it was that long ago so that will probably still be the case.

18 May 2015 13:21:31
Has there been any developments in the chase for Pogba or Greizmann? Is it still just interest or has there been any bids for the players from any teams?
Cheers.

Chelsea_brett

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing particularly noteworthy to report.}

ED, any chance Robben will be making a move in the near future? Would we be interested?

Chelsea_brett

{Ed002's Note - Robben will not be moving to Chelsea.}

I don't suppose there is any chance of a bid for Sterling in the summer? Especially if no deal is signed before hand?

Hi Ed, who would you say is most likely to be our second choice striker next season? Probably not but any interest in Rooney after all this time? Getting played in midfield at United so might not be overly happy. Cheers.

Chelsea_brett

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer "most likely" questions but there is no interest in Rooney. I have explained where there is interest.}

1.) 12 Feb 2015 21:19:56
My understanding is that we still have an interest in Inter's Icardi. I can't think of any other strikers we're currently looking at, but I'd appreciate it if anyone else remembers forwards ed has mentioned.

Ed, I saw an Italian newspaper saying we were readying a £57 million bid for pogba. I know that it is highly likely that this it rubbish but I was interested to see if he has a known price tag? Or if any bids have been made? Jose stated that he would not be expecting any big names so can we rule pogba out?
Cheers.

Chelsea_brett

{Ed002's Note - I have said where there is interest.}

1.) 02 Jun 2015 11:38:58
I think Ed has stated that the interested clubs know what needs to happen to get a transfer done for Pogba.

The falcao rumours are stirring. Now 2/1 on to join us this summer. Nothing in it Ed?

Chelsea_brett

1.) 29 May 2015 23:35:43
I remember january 2013 when it was 1/10 him to join chelsea that window. I don't see it happening.

2.) 30 May 2015 11:52:25
There was a time we where odds in to sign neymar but look what happened there

16 Apr 2015 09:25:24
Ed, you mentioned a little while ago about talks with Koke had begun. Did that mean talks between the two clubs over the price or talks between the player and Chelsea? Any update would be good, thanks.

Chelsea_brett

{Ed002's Note - I never said there were talks "with" Koke.}

1.) 16 Apr 2015 12:14:38
Think that answer means that those talks were between the clubs and not the player :)
Still it's good to see that the club are already doing work.

2.) 17 Apr 2015 14:42:40
Koke would be fantastic signing but I am not so sure that Chelsea will succeed to sign him.

02 Apr 2015 14:06:57
Would Chelsea have any interest in Yaya Toure?
Obviously would be hard to buy from City but I would say he has at least 1 very good season left in him. Cheers.

Chelsea_brett

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 03 Apr 2015 14:36:22
Wouldbt really like him in our team, I don't believe he is a team player

26 Jan 2015 18:13:38
If shurrle leaves is it likely cuadrado will be seen as a direct replacement? If all of that went through and then Salah left would we seek a replacement for him and if so who?

Chelsea_brett

1.) 27 Jan 2015 00:57:43
One thing I saw which shocked me is that Nathaniel Chalobah is almost exactly 1 year older than RLC. Another thing I would add is that I imagine were about to see a bunch of these guys going on loan within the next window or so (as seen with baker).

Great info as per usual Ed.
You noted that is depends on how much can be raised through sales. Who could we expect to leaving this summer?
Also I know we have been balancing the books in recent times, but how much extra money has been assotained from winning the league and the new sponsorship deal? IF that is something you might know.
Cheers.

Chelsea_brett

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing money. I have listed before the players will may well leave.}

Where to play? He is usually deployed on the left in Hazards position. Anybody heading out that might indicate where he would be played?

Chelsea_brett

{Ed018's Note - Without getting to involved in formations and where he would possibly play, to me Oscar's position in the team is under threat. He has not played well over the last 3 months}

Thanks for that Ed, I take it we would have to sell to afford the move?

Thanks for the swift reply Ed.
Not sure if it's something that is calculated or more what the owner would want o spend, but how much (excluding player sales in January) could Chelsea spend in line with FFP regulations?

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing money.}
