Seen Ed002 on the Everton page say that chelsea are yet to submit a bid for Lukaku for reasons he gave before. Going by this I wonder if we were ever really in discussion with him as reported in the media before. And assuming we weren't it definitely means the club have another player in mind for the striker position. Looks like we are going to have to endure for some more time.

1.) 07 Jul 2017 19:56:59
With the news today that fee not agreed to me now it shows as we haven't gone in that he wasn't conte first choice, my worry is we sign morata ( sorry cat ) but his a CF not a striker, I read someone say about cheeky bid for cavani. His older now but would do a job. Him and contes first choice would be brilliant, apparently going in for blade Keita off lazio, dunno how true.

2.) 07 Jul 2017 20:47:26
I'd be delighted with Morata.

3.) 07 Jul 2017 21:01:40
Telegraph this evening saying we have matched offer and decision down to player. And something about Chelsea not wanting to pay agent fee's.

4.) 07 Jul 2017 23:02:17
And sky journo saying united out bid us and united bound. this is draining night.

5.) 07 Jul 2017 23:43:37
Why would people be happy with Morata really? He scored 9 goals more then Alonso last season? Bats scored 5 and hardly played at all.! No where near worth the £75m Madrid are asking for him.

6.) 07 Jul 2017 23:46:32
Lukaku will sign for United 100%.

7.) 08 Jul 2017 13:02:37
Should have got rid of Emanalo ages ago, always thought he has a hidden agenda. Just close the deals and don't hang around like we do. We have a player who wanted to join Chelsea, but ended up at United .

8.) 08 Jul 2017 13:56:21
Why, all of a sudden, is it down to Emenalo? There are lots of different people involved in transfer activity at the club.

13 Dec 2016 18:23:38
Good evening Eds, any truth in the Oscar to China rumours?

{Ed002's Note - There is interest from a number of sides including two Chinese sides.}

1.) 13 Dec 2016 20:42:23
52 mill. take it.

2.) 14 Dec 2016 05:34:58
I can understand the club wanting him to go to China if the money being reportedly offered is true but can't see Oscar being interested.

08 Jul 2016 11:22:13
Top of the morning Ed, any truth in chelsea having a bid for Barbosa rejected? Have a good day.

{Ed002's Note - Santos' Gabriel Barbosa is of interest to Fiorentina, Dortmund, PSG, Galatasaray, Chelsea, Real Madrid and a couple of minor Premier League sides. However, although much is expected of him he is only a teenager and whilst there is an agreement between Santos and Barcelona that may be exercised in 2016, I suspect that he won't move there this year. Chelsea and Fiorentina have held recent discussions and have tried, and continue to try, to strike a deal - but no luck so far. His agent mentioned previously that that Fenerbahce had made an offer but I suspect that is incorrect and it was Galatasaray - and their interest has now gone. Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid have been upping their interest with Real Madrid having several representatives watch games towards the end of the season and Chelsea having two offers rejected. I would expect him to sign a new contract that has been offered and stay at Santos until next summer.}

1.) 08 Jul 2016 12:15:15
Thanks for the reply.

05 Jul 2016 18:38:37
Evening Ed, is it true chelsea had a second bid for Gomes rejected by Valencia? There are reports about it online. And happy Eid-el Fitr to the muslims on here.

{Ed002's Note - Put aside the thought of "offers" being made. Valencia's Andre Gomes was watched last season by representatives of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Milan, Manchester United and by Vicente Fernandez on behalf of Chelsea. However, the asking price was well beyond anything that would make any transfer possible in the summer. This season many clubs, including Chelsea again, PSG and Manchester City have watched the player but it will likely be Manchester United, Chelsea, Napoli, Barcelona and Juventus that fight for his signature in the summer - and I very much doubt Barcelona, Napoli or Juventus will be able to match any financial offer made by the others without a sudden influx of money - but that may be coming. Napoli and Juventus would need the money from a significant sale in order to move for Gomes without it becoming an unnecessary financial burden - but they are both pushing for a deal. Valencia want a Juventus player in exchange and they think that may be the means to make the transfer happen but Juventus will only agree to that if another player stays - but they are talking. Additionally, Juventus have a preferred target in mind to cover for Pogba leaving so Valencia might have to consider other option. The player is open to a move for English wages and if were not for the toxic fans Manchester United would have signed him in January. I expect Manchester City to step back having agreed their first choice in now - and I expect PSG to do the same. Real Madrid has spoken with Valencia about his availability recently, as have Chelsea yet again. Obviously if Valencia hold out for the sort of figure he has in his release clause then he won't be going anywhere - but they won't.}

1.) 05 Jul 2016 19:19:53
Thanks a lot for the info.

2.) 05 Jul 2016 19:26:16
Great info Ed, so with Juventus selling Pogba will they then have the financial ability to sign gomes?

{Ed002's Note - I think it is all explained there - Valencia want a Juventus player as part of the deal so there is a sticking point. And Juve are interested in someone else - actually Matic.}

3.) 05 Jul 2016 19:33:56
Fantastic thanks for clearing that up. Legend.

4.) 05 Jul 2016 20:59:39
Ed002, if Chelsea did sell Matic to Juventus, would they be looking to sign more than one midfielder this window assuming they are targeting one of Kante/ Naingollan/ Gomes etc.? Appreciate your help and understand if this is all too hypothetical!

{Ed002's Note - Best not to try and complicate matters.}

5.) 05 Jul 2016 23:21:20
No problem Ed, thanks again.

6.) 06 Jul 2016 07:24:12
Think I'd be fairly happy letting Juve have Matic if we get Gomes and Kante.

27 Jan 2016 14:54:28
A good day Ed, any truth in Matt Miazga coming to chelsea this January? There are rumours around of him joining chelsea in the next few days.

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

I believe the club has done enough for Odoi. If he ends up leaving nobody should blame the club as the boy has not reciprocated neither the club's nor the fans' trust and believe. And Bayern should be reported for tapping up the player.

1.) 14 Jan 2019 16:10:36
Look how it looks to him. Play out of your skin in preseason and then don’t see the pitch all year until you ask to leave . we haven’t shown a lot of trust in him until now and that’s due to injuries mate .

2.) 14 Jan 2019 16:32:51
I join with the vast majority of Chelsea fans who will be very sorry if CHO leaves our wonderful club. A club that has helped to develop his talents for the last ten years.

In a previous post I outlined my reasons why I believe he will be making a mistake to leave our club for Bayern.

I have also posted that I can see no reason why our club should allow him to go in this window.

As far as I’m concerned he wasn’t forced to sign a contract so he should honour the contract signed by both parties.

I’m aware that our club very rarely stops a player from leaving if they want to go but in this case I think we should keep him until at least the next window.

3.) 14 Jan 2019 19:21:18
He was never going to supplant the starting players right away. He only needed to be patient and work hard in training to impress the coach. The least he can do is to keep an open mind and not be forcing the club's hand.

4.) 14 Jan 2019 19:45:04
Didn't Ed002 state a while back that Hudson-Odoi cannot play because of his age or something? If I remember reading rightly.

This is why I don't get all hyped up about our youth academy. The boy gets minutes in the first team and what more does he expect? Why would a new manager put their faith and trust in a 17 year old boy! I wouldn't. God knows why these lads listen to their agents/ management.

{Ed001's Note - the midweek games are a problem but Saturday and Sunday he can play fine.}

5.) 14 Jan 2019 22:12:19
because CFCAdam his brother i believe is acting as his agent.

6.) 15 Jan 2019 00:30:47
CFC Adam, he still could have contributed more than he has. He’s too big a prospect.

7.) 15 Jan 2019 07:04:56
PROSPECT. Got it in one. not a first team key player, probably rotation is all he could hope for this season and he’s getting minutes.

8.) 15 Jan 2019 07:17:49
Adam you seem very stuck in your point of view so no need of a discussion mate.

9.) 15 Jan 2019 09:21:31
No but people like you and many many others obsessed with playing youth players. Players who IMO have done nothing in the game. CHO is very lucky, he has a lot of potential and as I’ve stated many times before, why would sarri in his first season put his trust in a 17 year old boy? He’s been given minutes over the course of the season. Why now does he think he deserves more and playing in front of a very experienced duo in Pedro and Willian? Form is temporary class is permanent. He could have waited until end of season and said he wants a move or a loan. Why now? That’s what gets my back up.

10.) 15 Jan 2019 11:17:00
I’m hardly obsessed with playing youth. I’ve stated on many occasions that Willian and Pedro still have big parts to play in the season. Age is irrelevant and as I said he played quality in preseason, arguably our best player and saw the pitch for about 40 minutes after that until injuries forced sarri’s hand. The guy is good enough and should have seen more minutes in my opinion. I’m not saying he should start, but he should have been an option of the bench over a third central midfielder.

Adam, a players career is short and he hasn’t to make the best decision for him. We haven’t shown faith in him until now (which he has immediately repayed) due to injuries. Bayern showed interest and he maybe sees them as a better option for him.

That’s all I’m saying mate, not obsessed with youth.

11.) 15 Jan 2019 16:14:05
You can’t judge anything in Pre season for any team. Just there to get match fit that’s all.

But we play with 3 Cm’s so why wouldn’t we have more of them on the bench rather then a young winger? With hazard you could stick him on either wing along with Pedro and Willian. So there’s options there.

What you on about we haven’t shown faith in him? He’s been with us since the age of 8. That’s ten years already. Not shown faith, lol. If he wasn’t shown faith they wouldn’t have given him a pro contract, they wouldn’t be offering him a new one neither.

When he plays now he still shows his rawness. That will subside when playing more. But to think he can demand minutes at a club like Chelsea is laughable. Also the fact that he may think he’ll get more game time at Bayern.

If the boy wants to go, then let him. But do it on our terms. Simple really.

12.) 16 Jan 2019 05:10:30
Like I said Adam your not up for a discussion as you’re stuck in your opinion. Not worth it mate.

22 Jul 2018 07:48:06
Good day Eds, what's your take on the goalie situation? Do you think we will move Courtois on and sign a new goalie and if yes who are we targeting to replace him?
Also, for Ed001, what's your view on Christensen? Do you think he has what it takes to succeed at the top level? Thanks for your time.

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on what offers come in, if Madrid do bid for Courtois he will ask to leave and Chelsea won't stand in his way. Other offers would not be of interest to him, so I can only see it being Madrid or no one. I do expect Madrid to come in for him though.

I like Christensen, he just needs to be kept on his toes or he makes silly errors. Reminds me a bit of Rio Ferdinand at that age, he would make silly mistakes by trying to be too composed, rather than just clearing his lines when it was required. I think Christensen will come good when he has experience enough to know when to do what.}

1.) 22 Jul 2018 08:40:40
Good post Ed001 who would you go for if Courtois goes? Yeah I agree with Christensen’s evaluation needs to beef up a little imo as well, but so happy he got a chance last year I’d like to think he’s a Sarri style player as well.

{Ed001's Note - you need someone who is good with their feet as well under Sarri. Personally think you missed a trick in not getting Patricio. Strakosha would be the one I would suggest. Young but good.}

2.) 22 Jul 2018 09:07:47
Hello Ed001. Do you think that if no suitable replacement can be found this summer that there's a chance we keep Courtouis on and risk losing him on a free?

{Ed001's Note - I am sure the club have a number of options in mind if needed.}

3.) 22 Jul 2018 09:32:21
Don’t really know that Strakosha guy - do you know if Chelsea have any interest in him?

{Ed001's Note - I don't mate sorry.}

4.) 22 Jul 2018 11:54:24
Haven't seen any links to Strakosha I'm afraid, though he's a very good shout. Either Strakosha or Kepa (Bilbao GK) would be my preferences now, but they'd probably be mad expensive right now. So I can see it being a stopgap signing like Butland.

5.) 22 Jul 2018 13:48:52
Thanks for the reply Ed01.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

15 May 2018 11:15:16
What's your view on Eden Hazard and Courtois? Do you think they are as good as people think they are or a bit overrated? And also is it time for the club to cash in on the pair?

1.) 15 May 2018 11:50:01
Hazard has a habit of disappearing in games, but on his day he is unplayable. Maybe if we were more attack minded he would flourish. Courtois I wouldn't miss. He is a decent shot stopper, but he's very flappy on crosses. He really doesn't fill me with confidence.

2.) 15 May 2018 13:02:33
Maybe Ancelotti with Morris assistant for a year or 2 could work really well.

3.) 15 May 2018 13:20:21
Courtois is in my top 3 goal keepers on the world While Hazard is in my top 4 footballers in the world. They are not over rated, they are very very very good players.

There's a brand of football that Chelsea will play and you will see how good Hazard can be, I think he hasn't played to his fullest potential at Chelsea. For me Hazard is my best player in EPL.

Courtois for me is just behind De Gea.

4.) 15 May 2018 15:25:16
Hazard is undoubtedly world class on his day I for one would not sell him in a million years we can’t moan about not signing world class players then go and sell one of the only ones we have. That being said, I read someone put he’s in the top 4 players in the world and the best in the premier league. NO he’s not! How many players is they hitting 30,40 plus goals a season? Hazard ain’t even hitting 20. Courtois has age on his side and plenty of time to improve even more but the second best keeper in the world? Don’t think he’s done enough to justify that tbh.

5.) 15 May 2018 15:44:27
Like I said, by my own rating, I see Hazard as the best player in the EPL. I will pick him ahead of any other EPL player if I given the opportunity to choose.

6.) 15 May 2018 16:20:30
Must of read it wrong, my apologies. Everyone’s entitled to there opinions.

7.) 15 May 2018 16:24:30
World class players have consistency, without it hazard is a level below, but I agree our football doesn’t suit him. Handy keep ball so when we do we expect him to do something special, salah for example missed most clear cut chances this year but because the football they play they make alt of chances for those type players so nobody talks about the 1/ 2 he misses but ones he scores,

8.) 15 May 2018 18:24:31
Matt Martin are insinuating that Hazard isn't world class?

9.) 15 May 2018 21:26:11
Yeah, world class players do it week in week out, not every other season or 2 games here and 3 games there and then kissing in big games etc, but I will repeat our style doesn’t get best out of him. I will say that,

10.) 16 May 2018 13:25:12
Blinky, you criticise Hazard for not scoring 20 goals a season - I wonder how many he would score if Mane and Firmino were his strike partners or Sane and Aguero? Or if he played under Guardiola (or any manager that believed in attack over defence)?

11.) 16 May 2018 15:55:07
From that your (Matt Martin) definition of a world class player- there may be only two world class players in the world which is Ronaldo and Messi.

01 Sep 2017 07:34:18
Common guys. Do we really think a player will pull out of a transfer in the middle of a medical? The media is just pushing this to create traffic. Barkley rejected the club yes but according to a source close to the player the boy never came to Cobham for a medical and he rejected the transfer as he didn't want to go to a new club injured which is why he said he will consider his options when fully fit in january. Chin up guys and be appreciative of not been a gooner.

1.) 01 Sep 2017 07:46:05
To be honest, I don't even know why we bid for him in the first place, considering how he's out for so long.

2.) 01 Sep 2017 08:33:57
Barkley did right decision for but he screwed Everton. I believe he will join Chelsea in January and his wages will substantially higher than proposed now.

3.) 01 Sep 2017 08:45:14
he def failed the medical. the share holder even was suprised that he was going back. he even said he would stuggle to back into the team as there is 4 no 10s.
u wouldn't go all the way to chelsea training ground for a medical after fee agreed and personal terms if u didn't want to play for cfc.

4.) 01 Sep 2017 08:45:35
Thanks Dastanj 😁.

30 Aug 2017 12:05:55
What's the deal with Ray Wilkins? First he was saying Chalobah should leave the club then he was criticizing the club's summer transfer and now he's criticizing the club again for signing Kylian Hazard and also saying Drinkwater should snub the club. Is he still bitter over his sacking?

1.) 30 Aug 2017 12:27:28
Hope he is not bitter but he is paid by various media outlets to say something interesting!
Ray was always one of my favourites and I hope he doesn't say things that things the Chelsea fans won't forgive or forget.
I'm old enough to remember the negative things Hudson, Hollins and latterly Burley have said about our club. I've never forgiven them!

2.) 30 Aug 2017 13:35:45
Ray Wilkins although I respect his past with the club, should just keep his mouth shut. He talks utter nonsense nowadays.

3.) 30 Aug 2017 13:41:58
Ray Wilikins has a big mouth. He should wait until he buys his own football club then he can run it the way he deems fit. He should keep quiet cos his opinion doesn't matter to Chelsea. He's part of the reason Chalobah left.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 16:45:09
And now he's saying Chamberlin will be a good signing after the boy has rejected us. Funny man.
