Is it possible for us to start our youth squad in lower leagues and work them up, so they would effectively be a feeder club for us. Just wouldn't be able to get promoted? {Ed002's Note - No.}

JD

1.) But they do this in germany {Ed002's Note - And Chelsea are playing in Germany are they? God it is so hopeless sometimes.}

Hi eds,

Just wondering if Chelsea hold any interest in Jonathan Williams at Crystal Palace. He's had a injury riddled past couple of seasons but the guy has the potential to be phenomenal. In my eyes he's a more complete player than Zaha, just hasn't had as much media hype. {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

JD

1.) I saw him play for Palace gainst Sheff Wednesday on sturday and he stood out a mile. Also very highly rated in welsh coaching circles. Proper footballer

Not able to post very often due to a new job, but hoping you all have a very happy new year fellas and eds! Also hoping you all see my point re Rudiger 😉.

JD

1.) 31 Dec 2018 15:59:59
Happy New Year JD but I think Rudiger could end up being our skipper.

He is having an outstanding season in my opinion.

2.) 31 Dec 2018 19:59:22
he seems a little rash at times for me tom but i love him aswell as he wears his heart on his sleeve he's willing to fight tooth an nail for the jersey and he's already a big fan favourite bar the odd couple who thinks he doesn't see danger haha.

3.) 31 Dec 2018 12:55:25
Rudiger keeps on improving - would still go for Koulibaly though.

26 Dec 2018 20:48:13
Rudiger has been woeful today. Argueably responsible for the first and can’t shepard danger at all! Won’t be a popular opinion, but I think we can do a lot better. Himself and Luiz are too rash and constantly leave us exposed at centre back.

JD

1.) 26 Dec 2018 21:27:33
we got the job done either way.

2.) 26 Dec 2018 21:28:01
We win at a very difficult ground and you post toxic negativity? Why? Do you really support Chelsea? I think we all know the answer to that. 😉😉😉😉.

3.) 26 Dec 2018 21:28:33
Not Rudigers best game but Luiz was class.

4.) 26 Dec 2018 21:32:19
One bad game. he’s been brilliant all season.

5.) 26 Dec 2018 21:46:08
nice to see odoi get some time on the pitch also and kovacic really looked good today. weak link marcos alonso and a lack of a number 9 but feck negativity that was an awsome result.

6.) 26 Dec 2018 22:44:57
This has been my long standing opinion since last year with Rudiger. He's very rash and doesn't see danger. In terms of putting his body on the line he's great, but that's really all, in my opinion. Also it's not toxic to point out flaws, it's constructive criticism.

7.) 26 Dec 2018 22:53:15
Rudiger gas been phenomenal all season. What have you been watching. One off game and out comes the criticism. He doesn't see danger? Are you having a laugh mate.

8.) 27 Dec 2018 09:32:56
So you prefer your defenders lunging all over the place, flying into tackles instead of shepparding danger? Fair enough, I prefer mine to see danger early. In my opinion, he doesn’t see danger early enough and therefore is always sliding in late in the box putting us at risk of conceding penalties and we’ll as fouls around the box. What was is Maldini said “If you have to make a sliding tackle, you’ve already made a mistake. ”.

9.) 27 Dec 2018 12:55:47
Don’t know what you have been watching but Rudiger has been our best defender this year he’s bailed us out loads this season. He lunged once yesterday and got done, if he didn’t and the player would of scored we would be all saying why didn’t he do anything! Rudiger is the wrong player to criticise at the min mate.

10.) 27 Dec 2018 15:35:31
It’s my opinion regarding Rudiger, doesn’t mean you have to agreee with me. He’s not the only one at fault; Jorginho’s lack of pace is becoming an issue as well as Alonso’s lack of disclipline at left back. I’ve always been a huge Willian fan for his work rate but he’s not the player he was.

11.) 27 Dec 2018 16:28:28
I think Rudiger has been one of our best players so far this season and I think his problem is similar to Dave's, they get dragged out of position covering for Luiz and Alonso. Luiz is a booking waiting to happen and I think lucky a number of times with his tackling and Alonso I love going forwrd but that exposes his lack of pace to get back to his day job, defending. Thank God for Hazard, a one man forward line and I hope the rumours about Morata and Higuain are true as lack og goals from midfield and other forwards is a massive problem. It is clear Hudson-Odoi is a real talent but I don't think he is ready for lengthy premiership football although I thought it was harsh taking him off and would do nothing for his confidence.

12.) 27 Dec 2018 16:43:46
JD, are the other seven who started on Boxing Day OK?

13.) 27 Dec 2018 20:35:06
Lol I find it laughable that Rudiger is being criticised. The man bails our whole defence out, he covers for more than one. His usually covering for Alonso and Luiz when the latter bombs forward. Some of our fans are oblivious.

14.) 28 Dec 2018 09:52:59
Ok, fair enough, we've got different opinions. All ways a great place to share your views.

08 Sep 2018 21:54:13
My god, the referee in the England game has been awful tonight!

JD

1.) 09 Sep 2018 10:32:02
Not as bad as some of the players!

2.) 10 Sep 2018 11:49:24
We just seemed a bit clueless. Rashford is one of the most confusing footballers I've seen!

31 Aug 2018 20:41:25
As much as I hate to see him at United, the way the press are treating Jose is absolutely horrid. Supposedly journalists were openly laughing at him during his Spurs rant. I cannot stand the media at the moment and it's terrible how they're almost pleased to see a person brought to their knees.

Journalism in this country has become a ridiculous farce, with ignorant, click bait journalists.

I hope he can find a club that truly appreciates him. He may not bring the best style but he is a true born winner whom i absolutely adore for what he did for us!

JD

1.) 31 Aug 2018 21:19:47
JD, I couldn’t agree more, the press in our country are truly ridiculous.

I have mentioned several times, so called exclusives about our club that are total rubbish.

They are, in the main, a total disgrace.

2.) 01 Sep 2018 07:59:02
I saw a comment by one of Ed’s saying how they have press conference few times a week and constant interviews where same questions are asked time after time. that’s frustrating enough. And I love seeing united in bad way but Jose is one of the best, I saw on talk sport they co paring Klopp snd pic to him. both great managers and the future in terms of style but Jose has won the lot so I think respect is due.

3.) 01 Sep 2018 17:07:46
I get that people want to see attractive football, but he does have a point that neither Klopp or Pochettino have won anything in England. He deserves far more respect from the press and fans within the country.

4.) 02 Sep 2018 16:27:34
I think the main point with regards to the baiting of Jose is the fact that he keeps bigging-up the three titles he won at The Bridge. The feeling is that this was in the past, with a different club and to a certain extent, Jose was a different character to the morose bloke he has become. Arrogance with humour (in his Chelsea days) gives a good atmosphere; arrogance with bitchiness is a bummer.

Out of interest, how are you lot rating Rudiger so far this season? I know it’s early on but I really think he’s struggling. I’m not convinced by his distribution nor reading of the game. Everything seems to be last ditch with him. It might take him a while to get accustomed to Sarri, but at the moment he really isn’t filling me with hope.

JD

1.) 20 Aug 2018 11:18:59
What do you mean so far this season? We've played two games and against Huddersfield he was immense, albeit they were poor opposition. So you mean you thought he struggled against Arsenal, right?

2.) 20 Aug 2018 13:35:44
Yeah, as well as a lot of last season. Occasional he pulls out a wonder ball though his overall distribution is poor.

3.) 20 Aug 2018 15:47:46
I think totally I ppposite to you guys, he looks clumsy on the ball but he’s a composed passer and sprays cross field passes well. He’s more composed on the ball than Azpilicueta.

4.) 20 Aug 2018 15:54:52
I think it’s part of the idea that luiz is the ball player and one to come forward and find passes and rudiger with his pace is the support. Don’t know though just thought.

5.) 20 Aug 2018 18:07:42
Fair enough. Everyone has differing opinions. It just feels like he’s never fully in control whilst defending and constant has to dive in to make up for position errors.

Totally agree re player power. It’s important we back the right manager to deal with this. Hopefully Sarri is the man. If not we’re buggared 😅.

Sorry if I am coming across as a moaner? I’m merely trying to provide a different perspective to yours. This site is shrouded is negativity when it really shouldn’t. Just have a little faith in the club.

Do you have nothing better to do than spend every second checking to see if we have appointed a manager? In 6 weeks we could have signed 2 or 3 major players and things could be looking good for the start of the season. However, constantly moaning about it isn’t going to change anything!

Do you think the club are doing this as some sort of prank? They’re trying to get the best person for the club, at this moment in time, at the best rate. Maybe they’re trying to save in this matter while spending in others.

Fair enough Shak, good post.

This is where we'll find out a lot about Frank; when times are tough and the pressure is on.

Ok, I understand Shak, but what is to be reasonably expected from a team with a transfer ban who lost their best player of about 7 years.

Frank probably overachieved in the first 3 months and is now just regressing to the mean. I’m sure it will be, in the end a successful season. We just have to remember what our expectations were at the beginning of the season.

He's shown inexperience because he's inexperienced! Give the man a break.

Think what you would've taken at the beginning of the season, personally I would've bitten your hand off for top 4 and through the Champions League group. If you think we're going to suddenly turn into what Liverpool and City are then you're in for a shock. It took Klopp 4 years to build a team capable of winning the league, and he finished 8th in his first year.

If you're truly going to turn on a club legend by enforcing ridiculous expectations, then you need to support someone else. This is a project I think most of us are still very excited about.

I find it bizarre that people are comparing us to teams like united. Frank has had what, 4 months with this side and we already look brilliant In attack. Defensively there’s a lot that can be improved but it seems he’s learning. If we give frank time I’m sure there’s success in the future. 🙂🙂.
