Hi Ed002, I have read questions and your valued answers to many, many, many posts on here re E Haarland.
My understanding is Dortmund do not wish to sell this window.
Posters seem to think that "why would BVD not sell now? " with a buy now next year at half the price.
Can I please ask if, several clubs are willing to meet that "buy out " clause next year, would that create an auction situation, meaning BVD may actually get more than if they sold this window?
My feeling is that he (and his management) prefers RM (can't blame him really) . Your posts have always said Mbappe this year, Haaland next year for RM is the plan.
Given you seem to have an in depth knowledge of "inner workings" I'd really appreciate your insight into where you think things will end up this window.
I really get your post re L Martinez when asked who you personally would take a chance on, can I ask if there is any interest from the club there?
Many thanks for your input, and thanks for the latest update re ins and outs, the Trolls on here don't appreciate you like the regulars for the past few years do.
Thank you!

Kiwi Pete

{Ed002's Note - Lautaro Martinez (S) Inter don't want to sell and long-term admirers Barcelona and Manchester City are looking elsewhere although Barcelona would like to add him in 2022, but significant sales would still be required and they have added Aguero and Depay this summer. Real Madrid are trying to convince the club otherwise and will offer an assortment of players they no longer want in exchange. Atletico Madrid are interested if he becomes available but money would be an issue without a major sale - perhaps Joao Felix. There is support for him from an ex-Chelsea player who is a potential Director of Football at the club but he would be a little down the list of targets Chelsea has. PSG could look to him if they lose Mbappe. I am not aware of any formal approach from Arsenal to Inter but they do want a striker and will have used a third party to understand if there is an opportunity for them. But it is difficult to see how they could fund a move which would see any negotiations start around €100M. The player would also want Champions League football.}

1.) 05 Aug 2021 11:45:10
Pete regarding EH. As I understand, it if he has a buy out clause as long as a club meets it he can join them. Therefore, several clubs could agree to pay the fee and it would be up to him to choose, so there will not be an auction. If I wrong about this no doubt I’ll be corrected.

{Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that. Dortmund can agree any price they would like with another club as long as the player agrees.}

2.) 05 Aug 2021 12:24:17
Wow, so Dortmund could auction him somewhat higher than the release clause?

That explains their stance.

3.) 05 Aug 2021 12:39:01
If EH wants to go to Madrid as seems to be the case and they pay the buy out fee, that’s it even if another club offers more.

{Ed002's Note - The final choice will be the players but one club is trying to negotiate a deal which would be more attractive to BD.}

4.) 05 Aug 2021 14:47:54
Is that Barca? I remember you mentioning that they would like to negotiate a higher fee in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

5.) 05 Aug 2021 15:44:44
Interesting, and I blamed Madrid for trying that on in an earlier post. I doubt if they pay 150 million pounds though.

{Ed002's Note - That is not what is being proposed.}

6.) 05 Aug 2021 16:04:25
Thanks Ed, is the plan from Real to wait until his RC kicks in, from some his own comments it seems as though he is keen on moving there.

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid want to buy him next summer and will react to circumstances as necessary Mike.}

7.) 05 Aug 2021 16:11:45
Makes sense, thanks Ed.

8.) 05 Aug 2021 16:21:48
ED, some reports note that Real could go for Haaland this summer if they can't sign Mbappe now.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained that all before at length.}

Hey guys and girls, very rarely post but now seems as good a time as any.
I read and reread posts on this site (and yes I understand why ED002 doesn't want to "go there" re defence) .
I get the feeling that MVG is thought of in a rather different light than many of us believe (I saw his first season, before injury) and was awestruck, this guy is the complete article!
I know injuries have impacted his career, however, I still think the powers that be still seriously rate this guy.
I'm sure ED002 you'll put me in my place if I'm way off the beaten track, but I have a feeling that the club see MVG as being a big part of the future, if he can stay injury free.
Would have been so easy to let him go (with a profit) for the last few years, but we have not!
Interested in all your thoughts.

Kiwi Pete

{Ed002's Note - His contract has been extended by a year. The club would very much like him to be available, else he will return to the Netherlands.}

1.) 17 Aug 2020 09:39:45
Would be good for the lad he deserves a bit of luck.

2.) 17 Aug 2020 13:34:35
Easy to forget he's only 27. We've seen flashes of a really, really good player for us and also whilst on loan - fingers crossed for him and us, as I imagine from an FFP perspective he's a very cheap squad member Vs the cost and his overall ability.

3.) 22 Aug 2020 11:01:13
Van Ginkel? He's just going to be loaned out again regardless.

23 Jun 2015 07:48:36
Ed 002, I remember a couple of years ago we were very interested in Abyumayang(spelling) before his move to Dortmund. Given the latest stories out there re his potential availability would we still have interest?
Thanks in advance.

Kiwi Pete

{Ed002's Note - Not right now Pete.}

1.) 23 Jun 2015 23:58:09
Would love Aubameyang. Got a goal scoring record and he is a natural winger is just whether he has the work rate Mourinho likes.

2.) 24 Jun 2015 09:08:59
Thanks ed!

Hi Ed002, I read on the Metro website Bayern have an interest in Kepa, any truth in this please?

Kiwi Pete

{Ed002's Note - Down the list for Bayen Munich but they are struggling to sign preferred options.}

Read an article from Graham Potter ( not the new CFC man) on ESPN regarding both CB's being unavailable for Barcelona ( Kounde, Arjuro, due to injury) and his thoughts re AC. Very interesting!
Looking retrospectively, I'm rapt that AC had his absolute best game for Chelsea in that CL final when he came on, but, professionally it's about the contribution weekly, and tbh, he didn't deliver when needed on a weekly basis, glad he's gone. Barca's problem now.

1.) 29 Sep 2022 09:00:11
He wasn’t physical enough for the English game and supposedly had some weaknesses with his mentality but for the most part played well for us and so I hope he does well for them. Not too upset he left us but still hurting over Rudiger leaving to be honest, think he’s one of the best CBs playing right now and he went for nothing.

25 Jul 2022 06:49:13
I totally get where every CFC fan is coming from, in regards to players in and out, let's maybe get a perspective on everything. Alonso, good attacking, no interest, and too slow in defending. Dave, great defending (left or right) no legs as a w/ b. Sarr, committed, but not quite it, Cholobah, same. Biggest issue I've seen in pre season is (whilst a great shot stopper) Mendy's distribution is shocking, and again putting the team under pressure! If you're going to play out from the back, you're GK is instrumental ala Ramsdale v us, rather than giving the opposition possession.
RLC, Barkley and Jorgy need to go from midfield, , good players, but not premier league quality. I worry about Kante, he is world class when fit, and hope we can hold on to him.
Lots going on, Kounde wanting Barcelona rather than us, as Jimbo said, let him go, and rejoice when we beat them in knockouts next year.
I have to admit that Man City and Liverpool have "out bought' us this year, and The Arse and Spurs have done "good business" but, the premiership is about 38 games, not 1, and definetely not about preseason results.
Keep the faith fellow fans!

I have replied to an abusive post from stiv65 directed at Ed002 earlier and would like if all regular posters and readers would add to this thread to show their appreciation for Ed002, and all the Ed's actually for their input and info they share on this page.
We appreciate you, and a big thank you.

1.) 14 Jan 2022 07:03:07
Kiwi, although I haven’t got a clue about the content you refer to in your post, I’m happy to join you in showing my appreciation for all the Eds.

2.) 14 Jan 2022 07:23:00
what is up with people all the eds do a fantastic job in keeping us updated
thankyou eds for all the hard work ??.

3.) 14 Jan 2022 08:30:36
Pete, I haven’t seen the post you refer to but to make it clear, I too really appreciate the work and insights provided by the Eds.

4.) 14 Jan 2022 09:42:15
Thank you eds.

5.) 14 Jan 2022 10:56:21
I haven’t seen this post but thought some idiot ruined it, and we’ve been here before unfortunately, someone ruins it for rest of us, we all appreciated the information and insight Ed and your time and patience,

6.) 14 Jan 2022 11:14:12
Infrequent poster here, but LONG time reader and appreciator of this site and all that the Eds kindly share with us.

Seems to be a recurrent theme each transfer window and it's such a shame. I saw the post and it was good to see Ed giving some back!

The rest of us really appreciate everything you Eds do for us!

7.) 14 Jan 2022 11:21:54
It is a real shame these pages are blighted by the odd troll or 2 including King Frank and all his aliases. The EDs give us a great platform to share banter and ED02 is a great source of information which is not available elsewhere.

8.) 14 Jan 2022 11:49:29
I'm another who didn't see the post you refer to Kiwi Pete, but predictably have no hesitation in giving my support to your call.

We hugely value all the Eds.

Not least the invaluable input on transfer possibilities and so many other matters from the insightful Ed002, a major reason why many of us use this site.

Thank you all Eds. Am sorry indeed that you have to suffer mindless abuse. I cannot understand the mentality behind it.

9.) 14 Jan 2022 12:08:22
I have no idea about it. But I am supporting condemnation of ed002 abuse.

10.) 14 Jan 2022 12:34:30
It doesn’t matter what team this person may support, it make no difference abuse is abuse regardless.

I would like to think it’s a supporter of another club who wants to ruin our relationship with the Eds but I doubt it. We have a fair share of personal abusers.

11.) 14 Jan 2022 13:09:20
Same here. Haven't seen the offending post but am sick of the abuse directed at the Eds, especially what gets thrown at Ed002. Most of us really appreciate the insight given, way more reliable and honest than the lazy journos and "In the Know" fan boys on Twitter. Sorry for the abuse you guys get.

12.) 14 Jan 2022 13:39:56
I appreciate the efforts of Ed's on all the rumour pages. Especially ed 002 for info on transfers, ed001 for his awesome write up and engaging commentary, ed014, ed004 and ed025 for their candid views on arsenal, utd and Everton pages. And I really don't like people throwing mud on any of these pages without the appreciation for someone who is doing these things to keep us all engaged.

13.) 14 Jan 2022 15:31:28
Thanks to all the Eds for providing lovely insight, debate and banter to this page!

14.) 14 Jan 2022 15:45:49
Thank you eds, we appreciate the work you do.

15.) 14 Jan 2022 16:03:43
Yep, Ed's a bit of a legend. and occasionly very funny.

Being abusive online is a cowardly act by weak individuals.

16.) 14 Jan 2022 16:16:31
Such a shame absolutely no need in it hope the Ed’s are doing alright.

17.) 14 Jan 2022 16:27:43
I don’t know if you understand pidgin English Ed002, I just wan hail you from Nigeria, big ups bros u too much.

18.) 15 Jan 2022 06:28:41
A BIG thank you guys for your support over the abusive txts directed at Ed002 on 9th January and I hope that he realises that 99% on here appreciate his input, his sometimes (wicked/ warped) soh, and his value to us as posters/ readers.
This "slagging" of our Ed's input has got to stop!
Hope you're ok Ed002. We've got your back on here if you need us.

19.) 15 Jan 2022 10:10:17
A big thank you to all the Eds for providing legitimate information for free. Thank you guys.

03 Nov 2021 07:04:37
Hi guys and girls, i've been reading (and taking in responses) in regards to possible futures. Ed002 has said, yes we are still interested in Haaland, if the price is right (With agent fees etc the price will more than double, however, Him and Lakaku up front would be amazing) . Timo would be good as cover if one or the other is injured as he works hard and provides for the team ( I personally think his input is under appreciated) . He is to Chelsea, what Dyballa is to Juventus, not many goals but intergral to us playing as a team. Haverzt is providing that right now without Lukaku and Werner, and we keep on winning.
As supporterd, RLC has stepped up to the mark, and now needs to keep performing for the team
I actually think we in a good space right now, we have a really good squad, that can produce really good results this season!

Kiwi Pete

1.) 03 Nov 2021 08:13:42
Good comment but I am puzzled by the Dybala Werner analogy.

2.) 03 Nov 2021 09:03:58
Im sure we have a continuing interest in Haaland, as mentioned by Ed but in my opinion the chances of it happening are almost zero.

We will be interested in many quality players and Haaland be one of them but I think he will end up in Madrid.

3.) 03 Nov 2021 10:40:44
I think I'd rather have Lewandoski. The man is a goal machine.

4.) 03 Nov 2021 15:15:08
@tom b i wouldn't say haland is locked on to Madrid though having lost t chance with him, their will be more competition next window which any suitor can work on any advantage they have on the deal. madrid usually have that appeal to players but could prove decisive in their career if it doesn't work. cause it will look like a student who skip classes to graduate, in otherwords some have realised that being fully developed before the switch is the best. so haland might not go to madrid if any other team can at least match them in offers. Halan
As for pairing lukaku with haland, the former will leave once the later settles in because we won't be ready to spend that much on haland if the lukaku is the future in the first place.
Bayern, city, united, us Barcelona will a look to sign haland al wth dufferent apoeals but it is the team who meets the demands can have him. All havibg the mught to do so.

5.) 03 Nov 2021 16:02:57
Werner has cost us more points from his abysmal shooting than he's earned us from his running. i still hope he'll come good but let's not kid ourselves.

I'll say it right now, today v Newcastle if Conner had controlled that ball he would have passed sideways (at best) or backwards. Mudryk took the ball and scored, something Conner could neither see or do.
Conner is a squad player at best, if he can't see this and be at "his boyhood club" then he needs to move on and be the "big fish in the little pond" in the bottom half of EPL or Championship. His perception of himself deifies logic ala Mount last year, best gone!

My understanding, ilo, is the club wish to sign him to a new deal, however if the party's are far apart with wages etc and they can't agree then the club will be forced to sell in the next 2 windows rather than lose him on a free.
Probably a game of Bluff going on at present (from both sides) but that will end in June 24 at the latest.
I have the feeling that BlueCo have reigned in our overspending on wages, hence why I think James will go to RM and Sterling to Saudi at seasons end, both will prosper there, and remove a huge chunk of wages ( over 500k per week) from the budget.

Couldn't agree more Jimbo, of the last 4 "big" players to be at Dortmund 2 have worked hard to take a step up (Haarland and Bellingham) whilst 2 others (Sancho and Pulisic) have "expected" things to happen!
I'm happy CP has found his "happy place" at AC Milan, and I expect Sancho will follow suit, both will be wonderfully compensated financially for this in a lesser league.

Ilo, I think Chelsea already have the "world class" goalkeeper on their books, Slonina. He has been loaned to gain experience in Europe after a very good appearance in pre season. This lad is being groomed to be the no 1 keeper for many years to come, hence Sanchez and Petrovic competing this year, rather than perusing an Onana or Maignan signing at great cost.
I agree with Tom, 2 games of 38, and we are judging, before the close of a transfer window, I'm sure the club have everything in hand and have all options covered.

Hall and MC both appear to behind Chilly, and possibly Maatsen in what they offer on the left side. Maatsen has proved his versatility to cover many positions therefore he is a must keep in a smaller squad. Hall, on loan and MC gone represent good businesss!

Osinhem is the only improvement I really see as a No 9, the others will, like Jackson, take a season to adjust to EPL, do we have that time?
I feel we need a fluid 3 behind the striker, players that can go left right or centre. Jackson, Palmer, Nkuku, Mudryk and Chukumeka can do this, Sterling and Conner cannot, which is why I think they will be sold at seasons end. Technically both are inadequate!

Cheap shot Standard! ( why am I not surprised) . Tom has ongoing health issues physically, but his mind is still sharp as a tack, AND, his support of our club should never be questioned, like most on this site! There are, however, some posters who only live to be negative nana's, trying to kill off any positive statements or support for our wonderful club, hence your last sentence, which is completely untrue I might add, is just you trying to "wind" people up.
You are truly pathetic!
Like Tom, Jimbo, GG and others, I have been on this site for many many years ( I still remember Edoo2 telling us about a right back from Marseille we were signing for 7 million, Azpi)
We should support our club together, rather than apart.
Transition takes time and requires patience!

Hi Ed002, last summer before Poch was confirmed you expressed a liking for A. Slott in The Netherlands. If the club were to consider a change of manager at seasons end, would he be still in the mix, or has that ship sailed?
Understand if you don't want to reply, but thanks for the snippets you do still supply. Thanks and keep up the good work.

G8 and Tom you make some good points in your posts. Sterling does not defend, too busy standing and smiling after falling over under a puff of air ( if there not was any actual contact) . There is a reason Man City let him go, he is not "Premiership " league quality!, and at 325 k per week, best you take the Saudi money on offer and be a hero there than look stupid trying to compete against players who have half, or less the income, or actual ability, but twice the desire.
