Would anyone take Hazard back on loan if it’s an option? Personally think it would be a no brainer. Ed I assume there is no interest but any chance he’s an option?

Saim

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid offered him as part of an exchange, there will be no remaining interest.}

Hello Ed. I’ve read that Mount is looking to secure a new long term contract with the club and previously James’ contract has been spoken about in the papers. I was wondering if the club intends on getting these two players futures tied down? I think they’re absolutely essential in our starting 11 and should be players who play for Chelsea their whole careers (hopefully)

Saim

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

1.) 14 Jul 2022 18:03:02
Beautiful thank you Ed! Have a nice day.

Hi Ed002 hope you’re doing well- same goes for the other Ed’s and posters on the site and across the other sites if you’re reading!
Just a quick question, no worries if you don’t fancy getting into it.
I saw on the arsenal page you commented on Chelsea potentially helping ease Atletico Madrid’s financial strain- my question is are we interested in one of their players? And who it might be?

Thanks for all the hard work and stay strong everyone.

Saim

{Ed002's Note - No there is no interest in their players.}

Interesting reading on the Man United banter page that Chelsea have agreed to two players arriving this summer. Obviously one being Jorginho who's already arrived and the other I'm assuming is Rugani. Ed002 also said we are continuing talks today regarding a couple of other players, so no need to panic guys! He also said we've agreed to selling three who still remain at the club. I'm assuming one is TBo but the others are anyone's guess! Just hoping it's not Hazard and Kante otherwise I might cry a little.

Saim

1.) 20 Jul 2018 14:22:11
my take on that.
golovin and jorginho - agreed
higuain and rugani talks
tbo, zouma and boga

no idea why its in my head but I had a nightmare last night and lallana was a Chelsea player hahahah.

2.) 20 Jul 2018 15:23:43
It looks like Chelsea is about to make an official offer of €50m+ for Rugani- with first option in case of a sale belonging to Juventus. Maybe that would do the deal. Who knows if Ed002 means that?

3.) 20 Jul 2018 18:41:55
Courtois and Willian could be going.

4.) 20 Jul 2018 20:02:44
From what we have gotten from the press- Hazard, Willian, Courtois, Kante, Pedro, D. Luiz, Cahill, Bakayoko etc. all have certain degree of question marks over their heads.

5.) 20 Jul 2018 20:05:29
Courtois, williams and hazard are going but higuan and rugani are coming though is painful to see hazard go but the prize I believe will be right.

6.) 20 Jul 2018 20:10:27
Drinkwater Zappacosta boga mushonda Morata Michy Giroud. question marks over the whole squad lol.

7.) 20 Jul 2018 20:20:58
I forgot Drinkwater, Giroud and Zapacosta.

8.) 20 Jul 2018 20:23:05
And Morata- this is becoming needle in a hay sack.

9.) 20 Jul 2018 20:56:13
All we know is Jorginho will not be sold this summer!

10.) 20 Jul 2018 23:30:01
Saim, hahaha. you are funny.

I think at CB we need to push hard for John Stones. We can't allow United to get him before we do. He's already one of the best CBs in the league, he's still very young and he's English! Marquinhos would be good nevertheless. I mentioned Kouyate as a good option for CM but I also like Jackson's suggestion of Xhaka.

He always seems to put in a solid yet unspectacular performance whenever I've seen him play for Monchengladbach and Basel. I know the word unspectacular doesn't sound too appealing but it is something I believe we need right now in midfield, stability and no drama (i. e. Magic with his silly 2nd yellow) .

And I agree on Griezman, he's awesome! Btw I don't know about you guys but I can't wait for Courtois to be back. Begovic has been pretty good but I can't help but feel Thiabaut wouldn't have conceded nearly as many goals whilst he'd have also shored the defence up I think. We've conceded far too many headers this season and I think had we had Courtois in goal this wouldn't have happened, he's such a physical presence!

Saim

1.) 27 Oct 2015 01:46:39
That's a great point about the conceded headers. We've given up a ton this season and I think courtois' best quality is his ability to come for the high ball.

2.) 27 Oct 2015 02:32:09
Why is Stones rated so highly on here. Yes he's a good player but he's showed he's still raw with some of his mistakes this season. Marquinhos and Laporte are both experienced and have had a lot of game time for their age and would both be better options I think. I'd personally like Marquinhos as he reminds me a lot of Carvalho.

3.) 27 Oct 2015 07:42:37
Marquinhos has been playing CL football as well for a couple of seasons now so he's used to high level football. He'd be a very good addition.
And indeed your point on Courtois is valid. Courtois is exceptional at dominating his area and snuffing out high balls and crosses. Hopefully he can return without much problems in December.

4.) 27 Oct 2015 09:35:16
Stones would be my first choice we already have a lack of home grown players plus you don't know would Marquinhos manage in PL. What we need is left back for sure (left footed off course) .

5.) 27 Oct 2015 16:55:12
I think with John Stones you have to watch Everton games week in week out to appreciate him fully. Not only is he a fantastic defender, he is a fantastic player with the ball at his feet. He reminds me of a young Rio Ferdinand ability wise (obviously not personality wise) . I can't say I've seen more than a few games of Laporte so I can't comment on him but I think that whilst Marquinhos looks like a very intelligent footballer, I have concerns that he might be a little lightweight for the Premier League. Again though, I haven't seen too much of him myself.

Have VAR been ordered to check every Chelsea goal scored this season? Feels like it.

Saim

1.) 18 Dec 2023 18:17:57
I think they check every premiership goal as a matter of course.

2.) 18 Dec 2023 18:53:41
Tom, if FIFA get their way, VAR will be checking corners, yellow cards and how many hot dogs the bloke in West Stand lower tier, block 20, seat 113 ate at half time.

3.) 18 Dec 2023 20:06:44
Greedy Ba@rard Jimbo. As you say no need to report him to the “fat police” FIFA have it all covered.

4.) 19 Dec 2023 08:07:12
The only thing fifa have covered is there tracks.

5.) 19 Dec 2023 09:16:58
haha but very true gola!

Merry Christmas mate.

Very upset and frustrated with that draw. Probably did enough to win with the missed chances but credit to Fulham they grafted and deserved a point. James was not at his best but I'm so happy he didn't get another injury. Few positives were the defence looking good for the most part, Madueke looking positive on the ball and Enzo excellent in midfield.

However, quite a few negatives. Cucurella once again not good enough, the amount of times he dives into challenges and ends up sprinting back to cover his error is comical and he doesn't offer much going forward. Mount horribly off form and I would drop him next match with Felix back, dropping Havertz to a CAM position where he is so much better than at striker. Not sure what happened with Mudryk, hopefully not an injury.

One last thing is that I'm certainly a Potter supporter but I'm starting to question some of his decisions. The subs today were strange as was starting Ziyech after what happened with PSG. How Gallagher lasted 90 minutes is beyond me, can only think Kovacic wasn't seen as fit enough to get on the pitch. got to start picking up some wins or I worry for Potter.

Saim

1.) 03 Feb 2023 23:39:15
Kovacic was injured but he isn’t the answer Saim.

Even I’m struggling to be positive but it’s hardly
surprising that Fulham looked better organised than us. Although I guess it should be.

2.) 03 Feb 2023 23:50:43
Saim, why worry about Potter if he succeeds he will be praised and no doubt get an improved contract and if he fails he will get a big fat payout. I would worry about the vast majority of hard working people in the world who are struggling to feed their families.

3.) 04 Feb 2023 00:07:25
Saim, just enjoy your football when you can. Stay positive and be happy to be a Chelsea supporter.

Great team selection. Didn't realise James was available to start and great to see Chilly on the bench. Excited for Enzo and Mudryk in the starting lineup and feeling really confident for a win which would take us up to 6th. Only slight disappointment is no Hall in the squad, perhaps he's injured? Either way with so many talented players someone has to miss out. Come on Chelsea!

Laughable that our motm was the guy who got a straight red card ?.

Saim

1.) 12 Jan 2023 22:44:47
Saim without doubt but I’m staggered that the commentator didn’t give the MOM to there goalkeeper.

If City were to sign Nkunku and Enzo I'm sure everyone would be going crazy saying it's the best business anyone's ever seen. I think we are cooking up something awesome and I trust Potter to get things right at Chelsea, even if we miss top 4 this season.

I trust the club to do what needs to be done, while some mistakes may be made I do believe Boehly and Potter have serious ambition for the club and will try whatever it takes to get us all the way to the top.

If you read most posts on the forum you will see most posters have wanted us to move on for a while, not because he's a bad player but because we don't want Brighton pulling our pants down yet again.

Connor Gallagher isn't the perfect midfielder but I love having him in our squad, he's tenacious.

Enjoy watching Kai Havertz miss sitter after sitter this season and try your absolute best to win a European Cup, only then are you welcome to banter with us again.

I disagree Tom. I thought James had one of his worst games in a Chelsea shirt and Chilwell also wasn't great. Centre backs were good for the most part considering they had no protection. 2nd goal shouldn't have counted but we still would have lost. Not getting into a discussion about it but Potter absolutely has to go now, on current form there is a genuine concern of relegation and we can't keep expecting we will magically get better.

I strongly disagree with the original post. I think Havertz is one of our best players without a doubt and whilst he isn't the most clinical, he is let down by our other attackers' final ball and link up play. With Felix on the pitch I thought he played well and linked up nicely although there were a few times he could've done better. Should also mention the fact that the goal was a little over 18 months ago, definitely not been 3 years since our CL win. I also like Havertz work rate and his nasty side.

I think Mount is the one who should be facing much bigger questions at the moment. He needs to focus more on football rather than his Instagram and sponsorships.

Personally whilst James' injuries are concerning he is simply too good to consider letting him go. I do think we need quality cover for him but when fit he is our most important player along with Silva and Kante. I hope his injury situation gets better because he'll be a Chelsea all time great if so.

Being a Chelsea fan who grew up in Derby I really wanted a win yesterday. Fair play to Forest though they were very good in that second half but once again we struggled as soon as the game got physical. Midfield is a problem area for us and with James and Chilwell injured we haven't got much pace in defence. Top 4 still possible though for sure just need some reinforcements.
