Am hearing that Madrid are proposing a swap deal, Varane for courtois. I hope this is b******* for as much as I'd like Varane, courtois has to stay. Has this any credibility ed?

Hopefully mourinho will see sense and recall Bertrand from Southampton at the end of the season. He's been excellent all season.

I'd be happy for him to get his move. He's right to want regular first team football and it seems to be a good fit for him with Southampton.
2.) Agreed. He deserves the move. This might be something we see with some of the academy guys, they're too good to be a squad player but not good enough to be a first team regular. That said it beats not producing guys that are capable of squad or first team.

Seems we are close to signing Benatia from Roma for 30 mill. Seems pricey for a 27 yr old . Anyone know if he's any good. Can't say I've heard much about him.
1.) I've only seen clips of him and everyone can be made to look good on YT. But he seems like a pretty sound player. he's quick, good on and off the ball, has great dribbling skills with the ball at feet, he's composed, good at snap decisions, tall and is a threat in the air defensively and offensively. If this is JTs last year, then this guy would be a perfect replacement to accompany Cahill at CB until Zouma is 100% ready. Of course another stat that proves how good he is is the fact that Roma (I believe) had the best defensive record in Serie A last season. My only concern with him is the price. If he was perhaps 20mil instead of 30, he would be a great buy
2.) Agree with you. I is good solid centre half
I wouldn't worry about the money side of things. chelsea will pay what they believe the player is worth. On.another side it's not comin out of our pocket so if we see great players come in n silly money spent then all good as long as we win the league I don't care!
3.) May be ok, but surely a back up striker the priority while remaining within FFP -- ie this has relevance to what we pay for this defender.

Hi ed, any news on Hazard signing this contract, I think the Spanish vultures may circle in the summer if not.

{Ed002's Note - Sort of truly evil thing he would do. In simple terms, clubs have to balance the books and Inter are trying to do a reasonable amount of business this month - and they need to pay for that.}

If the bale and reuss rumours turn into reality we would be unstoppable. Cross everything you have blues fans for this one.
1.) It will never happen. Bale won't come to Chelsea. IMO if he leaves he'll join United. Reus won't come eiter I reckon.
2.) Not the Bale rumours. Would never support spending that sort of money for one player it's an insult to the game hope this is false only if some magic his fee drops to a more reasonable price. Otherwise, Reus all the way.
Hazard-Oscar-Reus. Now that's realistic, and keeps the good work we've been doing in the transfer market.
3.) Bale will never join MUTD.If he intended to join them he would be already MU player, since MU offered much more money to Tottenham 18 months a go. Player was the one who decided to join Real Madrid instead.
This is situation very similar to Fabregas situation so Chelsea has more chance to sign Bale than MU.
More important is does Chelsea has interest in signing Bale since the fee would be between 80-90m£.
Personally I do not see it happening no matter how much I would like it happen.
4.) First of all, how do you even know how much Madrid would accept for Bale as a fee. And second, the fact he chose Madrid over Utd then doesn't mean that he'll always want to play for Madrid over them. Maybe he's had a change of heart.
I give Chelsea signing Bale about a 0.00001% chance.
Either way, I'd rather see us sign Reus than Bale, but I doubt that'll happen either.

Whilst our club at the beginning of the Roman era would definately have looked at super expensive signings ala Bale or Ronaldo I think they have now moved on from that and neither of those two or any of that type would ever be considered tbh. I do however believe that when absolute class is available at around the 30 m mark ala Fabregas and Costa we will buy. Rues falls into this category, I think the club will do all they can to get him.
6.) Guys you didn't say anything different that I've said.

Wondering if anyone has heard the William carvallho to chelsea rumours. Would make some sense playing him next to matic moving cesc further forward with hazard and schurlle, then selling oscar to psg for big bucks.
1.) Personally I would prefer to keep oscar than sign carvalho. I don't think we need to play two holding players and if we do, cesc is clever enough to know when and when not to go forward. I'm more worried if Costa got injured. I don't think didier is the player he was
2-3 years ago. I think moving Torres on and bringing in aubameyang would be great business. Sadly on the keeper front I think Cech will leave

I think schurlle is more than capable of playing up front if needs be.
3.) Schurrle first season with Mainz I believe he played up front. And he scored 15 goals that season. Think I'm right check it out. He was a striker untill he then moved the next season.

75m for luiz and lukaku. 60m for costa and Fabregas. I know which I'd rather have.
1.) Within 2 years lukarku will be worth 50 mill, as the same as stones and barkley
2.) Ok so what planet are you from? For a start Everton aren't that great a team & lukaku can't win them every game & John stones worth 50 million pounds in 2 years? I highly doubt that very much
3.) Yeah lukaku will be worth £50m. That's why all these huge clubs went in for him. Everton and Wolfsburg

Last thing we need is yet another winger, this makes no sense.
I finding it hard to work out how we are going to accomodate all these midfielders. I really don't want to lose oscar, hazard, willian or schurlle. So where would pogba fit along with fabregas. Someone has to go.
