Do Chelsea maintain an interest in gianeli imbula of Marseille and do you expect a move for a cm in the summer, are there any other targets for that position?

trueblue012

{Ed002's Note - The interest is elsewhere.}

Hi ed, can you tell me what the future holds for Lucas piazon wether he stay with Chelsea or move on in the summer. I feel he would be an important player for us given opportunity.

trueblue012

{Ed002's Note - It is a little bit of a quagmire for him. I get the feeling the club would like to keep him but he might be a little far down the pecking order to make it viable.}

Hey guys,

I know its been a while since the opening game against Swansea but I wanted to know everyone else's opinion on benching Oscar after being arguably the best performer against Swansea. Another question, how do you feel about our group after the draw today

Chelsea fc
Fc Porto
Dynamo Kiev
Maccabi

trueblue012

{Ed008's Note - Oscar wasn't the best performer against Swansea IMO. He's injured so he can't play.

Disagree Ed, I really thought he was very good during that first half until Mourinho took him off. But indeed he's injured now, so let's hope he's back for the weekend. Hazard, Oscar and Pedro behind Costa should be better than with Willian in there.

Oh yeah, the draw. Pretty good IMO, though perhaps it's a long way to travel to Kiev and Maccabi.

3.) 27 Aug 2015 21:54:57
Ye I thought Oscar looked very lively against Swansea.

4.) 27 Aug 2015 23:00:14
I thought Oscar looked good but, as the ed said, he was injured so not really benched. I agree with Jackson as far as the three behind Costa goes - Willian's energy could prove potent off the bench too.

Decent draw for Chelsea, no whipping in the group boys as such but I'd expect us to qualify top of the group.

Recently booked a week in Porto with the missus for October - I wonder if the fixture gods will be in my favour?!.

The fixtures should already be out, so I'd suggest checking them :-)
Would be pretty awesome if you could go to the game!

After watching the game last night and many others where Willian offered very little in an attacking sense, it leads me to question why we don't give salah his chance, okay Willian does offer a fantastic work rate that salah may not be able to contribute but if we want to win and not avoid defeat we should experiment a little bit and maybe play salah with azpilucueta behind him to make up for his lack of defensive capabilities, zouma or ivanovic has to start the next game at centre back over Cahill, he has lacked the form he has shown in previous seasons and leaves me to believe he has grown rather over confident in his own abilities, would be great to hear everyone else's thoughts on this.

1.) Have you seen Salah play trueblue, combined with his unwillingness to work as hard defensively he gives the ball away way more than Willian and he gets pushed off the ball easily because he's small and not strong.

God forbid Enner Valencia? He's a quality player and would definitely add something to our squad, personally I'd prefer to see solanke given some chances but bearing in mind he's 17 its probably not going to happen for a while. Valencia is an upgrade on Remy at least and if we could get him in a swap deal for Remy or cash or whatever it would be a good deal.

Agree with most peoples choices, its honestly quite hard to choose as we have a number of quality players who maybe should be getting more time on the pitch and I fully agree with ed01 kakuta, given his debut by ancelotti, looked destined to be a world beater but injuries and poor choice of loans cost him. On to the 4 players, mine would be;

Luis - quality lb and a much better option in an attacking side.

Zouma - as everyone has surely noticed, Cahill is looking out of place and / or nervous. Zouma is better in the air, quicker and should go on to become one of the best defenders in the world.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek - I struggle to see where he would fit in if Oscar is on form but I think playing him alongside Matic with Fabregas playing in the #10 position would see us dominate the middle of the pitch.

Solanke - If we're going to let Remy go and Drogba retires he should be third choice behind Costa and whoever comes in (Icardi)? Knows how to find the back of the net and is quick.

Couldn't agree more mate, we seem to lack the urgency needed. For all the attacking talent we have we seem too content to defend and try and get chances on the counter, I think all the defending and pressure without the ball is having an effect on the teams creativity and when we do attack look too tired to really break on the opposition.

Oscar struggles after the winter period as we play a lot of games and his style of play means he does more running around than most, it would be almost impossible to keep up that level of consistency week after week putting in as much effort as he does, a bit of rest and some warm weather and he will be back to his best, he is Brazilian after all. Cuadrado has shown glimpses of what he can do but I suspect we won't see the best of him until the following season.

Id have to agree with you on the biggest surprise, azpilicueta has been one of our most consistent players and has got us out of trouble on many occasions, coming from Marseille he was relatively unknown but has proved to be a great find. Biggest down for me has got to be de bruyne not Torres (scored in the champions league semi final against barca to make what would have been a very nervous last few minutes, some of the most enjoyable in my time as a Chelsea fan)de bruyne came with so much potential and could have been a great player for us had he stuck it out, seeing him do so well in the bundesliga makes it even more of a let down.

Completely agree with TK . The guy varane coming from a team like Real Madrid would have no problem adjusting to a new league, confidence is clearly not a problem for him being able to make the switch from the French league to Spanish liga almost seamlessly and putting in a good showing at the world cup . Jose mourinho had no problem throwing him in at the deep end and clearly our interest shows he has no worries about his ability to adapt to the premier league or playing for Chelsea, he won't be captain but he certainly would be a leader of our backline that if he would arrive would be predominantly French speak with courtouis, zouma, varane plus azpilicuetas ability to speak the language fluently.
