Question for my fellow Chelsea fans . are you going to be happy with us appointing Lampard, regardless of whether he introduces the amount of youth you'd like, potentially us not finishing top 4 or challenging for any titles but understanding that he is going to try and build a team? I for one hope we do appoint Lamps and then give him the time, with no pressure, to deliver. Cech and Lamps coming back. just need JT and Drogba back now!

Not really, I love him and it’s not going to be best season if we can’t sign anyone, team is a great deal weaker without hazard and Lampard has only managed for one season, if he bought in Steve Holland with him I’d be ok, or if he could sign players I’d be little happier but I don’t want Lampard to carrying on cutting his teeth st a club with so much pressure, and people like frank and Jody always talking about playing the kids is fine great but in reality playing kids v the best players in Europe maybe not the smartest of moves,

Hiring Lampard at this time is a huge gamble. It will be ideal if it works but like Matt pointed out, he might be under serious pressure and get humiliated eventually if it doesn't work. The team even with Hazard still needed additions to match City, Liverpool and other European heavy weights.
I have never doubted our chances of contending for titles like I do now. Roman has always been a dream owner and I will personally be gratefully to him for all the success but he must not lower our standard. Liverpool only added qualities to their team and blend it with a few quality youths and they are back on top. This shows that we should not leave the winning formula for pursuing a youth team because a youth core cannot put in the midst of our rivals.

Agree with Matt, if he had someone with experience next to him it would be good, Steve Holland being the best choice.

If it’s Lamps and JM I’m sure that will be fine.
A good pre-season with ALL the players working hard for the team will be good enough to win the League.
Before every season, I always think we will win everything! This season isn’t going to be any different.

I guess the point is we aren't in the same position as we were when RA took over, things have changed and we have to change too, regardless of a ban or who the manager is, with a (albeit still sizeable) limited ability to invest in players are we going to compete with Citeh and Liverpool? Because we were the best a few years ago doesn't give us the right to expect to be the best now, for whatever reason we have slipped behind the top few. Not sure how old TomB is but I'm guessing similar to me, I remember the days of climbing the steps up The Shed and standing in The Singers cheering us on through thick or thin. Come on The Chels.
